I need to know about Big Boy toys too.. already thinking about putting money away to surprise DH with a flat screen.
-
Glad I am not the only one thinking about it. I also do 15 stockings so I am always grabbing small things when I see them! I know what you mean about the rubber band bracelets and waiting to buy them. I actually do hope they are a fad!

I know it is too early to even think about Christmas (but I am).. BUT I was trying to get a feel for what the hot toys for this year are or will be? It was this time last year that I was in AZ and was hearing about Zhu Zhu pets. Yes, I am nuts for thinking this early out but with 46 people we buy for (including 12 nieces and nephews), you have to start early! So any ideas on what is going to be big? I do know those silly rubber band things seem hot now and would make great stocking stuffers.

CONTEST OVER! Predict the First Black Friday Ad Posted This Year
ChristmasShopping replied to Brad's topic in 2009
Ace Hardware on the 7th of September -
I know most people will answer that it depends on the ads but most of us end up at the same places every year. Where do you shop on BF? I normally start out at Wal-mart and then hit Target, Walgreen, Bath and Body, Old Navy.. I don't hit the big electronic stores because I don't like to camp out.. LOL!

Thanks for all the work! Can't wait to see that first ad! (I am betting on Ace Hardware to be the first!)

Is this the year of the $99 netbook? Sorry No
ChristmasShopping replied to EliteABombAZ's topic in 2009
I hope it is. I would love to get a smaller one for me and to be able to give one to my 10 year old niece. I am betting we see the deal at a couple of places.. -
Hubby wants a PS3.... and a couple small flat screens (one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom... I know.. I know..) No one else has mentioned anything besides a few small things I have already picked up. Hopefully there will be some new Wii games out ...
-
I actually got asked today why I shop on Black Friday? They think I am crazy for going out in all the "madness". For me, besides the great deals, it is tradition for my hubby and I... It starts our holiday season!
-
Not camping out this year.. there it too much competition (I live in the land of BigJimSlade). So this year, -my hubby -small purse -ads (for price matching) -gloves -hot chocolate -gum -lots of patience....

What has been your Toys R Us experience on BF?
ChristmasShopping replied to brinak2005's topic in 2009
I have been lucky and have done my TRU shopping on line on Thanksgiving or at midnight on Black Friday for the last few years. The few years I did got to TRU, it was very unorganized and the lines are always LONG LONG LONG. I try to avoid it if at all possible! -
Thanks for all the info. I had read the old threads but was trying to get a general feel for the store on Black Friday..
-
How is K-mart on Black Friday? How are the deals? I haven't lived in an area that had K-mart in 10+ years but will soon be moving to an area that has 3 within driving distance. Any good deals to be had? I normally do the Wal-Mart, Target and small store shopping on Black Friday.. I leave Best Buy to the pros.... LOL!

It is always DH and myself, plus one friend or another. This year, my best friend has already hit me up to go with us.

What did you buy previous Black Friday's that you regret?
ChristmasShopping replied to abentley's topic in 2009
Moon sand.... WHAT A MESS! I have a few things that I regret NOT buying but that is the only thing I regret buying! -

How far do you have to travel on Black Friday?
ChristmasShopping replied to sweetdiggity's topic in 2008
Target, Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens and Staples are all about 5 minutes from me. Best Buy is about 15 minutes. Normally on Black Friday we end up driving about 50 miles total.... but a lot of that is going back and forth to different stores on different sides of town.
