Teachers Gifts-What do you get, how much do you spend?

This is my 25th year to teach, and I was raised by 2 teachers. The best idea some of my parents have organized is to secretly collect a few dollars from each child, and give a "class gift"--If there are 20 kids who give 5 dollars, a nice gift card to a local mall is quite a nice gift, and really appreciated! -
