Only if they are on the clock. If someone is off the clock, on break or finished with their shift, they are free to buy. I've seen them take their break and grab the markdowns.
I discussed the disappearance of the "good stuff" with an electronics employee the other day and he said that the employees do either buy or hook each other up with clearance deals esp. in electronics. "One of the "perks" of working there." Oh well. I guess if we want something bad enough pay more or stalk. :/

Can you tell me what zip code the socks coupon was coming up in? I don't see it.
Also, in 49404 there is a kid's denim one, $2 off and with people getting $5 jeans it would be a really nice deal.

Here is a great tip from TotallyTarget.
Merona women's socks are on clearance. You can print a Target coupon for "2/1 Merona® Women’s Socks or Hosiery Item" at Target's website making them either free or SUPER cheap. Print your coupon soon, because it's possible that it could get pulled:
Target Link - click the link "See More" on the top menu bar to find the "Coupon" link
Look under the APPAREL link on the left side for a shortcut to the coupon.

Generally when they hang out this long without movement it means they are going to salvage them...
Salvage (probably in this case) = Pulled off the shelf when they go 75% for a GREAT backroom deal for Target Employees...

Grabbed the kids back to school list for their grade next year and am doing some of my 2011 BTS shopping now. Got backpacks that are going into storage (they FINALLY went 75% off)
I also found some metal water bottles on clearance 75% off (cost was $2.?? something)
Found Snuggies for small dogs for $2.50

Here in SE Aurora (Denver), CO our school supplies are finally 75% off. The backpacks are stuck at 50% off. I may do some BTS shopping for next year.
Grabbed another Snuggie. I have 2 coupons left. Probably stop by tomorrow. There are some advantages to having 4 computers in the house.

I got tired of waiting for backpacks to go down lower than 50% off so we bought ours this weekend. The spot where the BP's are is where they are going to put Xmas lights and so they will be there for awhile.

Well, our Target in SE Aurora (Denver) Co is finally down to 50% off for most of the Back to school items. Most of the kids in the area have been in school for a couple weeks now, so there are a bunch of backpacks and misc school things left. We don't NEED anything right now and so I will wait for it to go to 75% before buying. I did buy my daughter's backpack yesterday at 30% off since it was a Tinkerbell one and one she really wanted. Did not want to risk missing out on it.
I also saw a bunch of the college dorm things on clearance. Most were at 50% off. Really cute bedding sets, great for teens.

That's the magic number for me! I am going in to see what they have left today. I did see the school supplies marked down (clearance) here (Denver, CO), but not by much yet.
Will report on my findings.
Oh - I found another killer site for Target deals. They focus on current sales and match coupons up to come up with amazing details. TotallyTarget dot com. :)

I wouldn't give up. Look in different stores and make sure you are checking the various "Battery Centers" located on several end caps in the stores. :)

A random question: As someone who very rarely took advantage of holiday clearances at Target before Christmas 2009 (and the only one I did before that was an occasional v-day), after Easter is there really any other holiday clearance before Halloween? or is Halloween, the next one? Thanks!
No really big holiday clearance other than the 4th of July. There will be several times when items will go down to 75% off throughout the year. Oh, in the summer they usually have another big toy clearance which I try to take advantage of. :)

I went back tonight, one last time, to pick up 500 plastic eggs for my little hometown's "Easter Egg Hunt 2011" and just had to check the toy shelves. I did find two MAUI Four Seasons water filled large bouncy balls with Easter egg confetti in it for .89 each. It's a heavier ball than the Sky Balls. The egg confetti looks gray and is about 1/2" long. My kids are, of course thrilled. :)

So glad you posted pictures, I actually typed that on my way home from the store Via blackberry and didn't see your post when I did it! I have to make another trip there but probably can't do it til Thursday. I'll look for the AA ones. Hopefully somebody saved me some :)
The AA's were hard for me to find, I only found them in one store out of five. Crossing fingers for you!

what are the easter Polly pockets? I have not seen these.
They were similar to the Disney Princess PP sized dolls. They had a little Easter basket for an accessory. My daughter already opened hers so I don't have one on hand to take a pic. of.

Just scored 5 packs of the 16ct. duracell AAA batteries @ $1.48 each after coupon. :)
Be sure to look for the flat pack (not double row) of 16 ct, not the 16 plus 4 bonus pack. These were not labeled clearance, they were on the same peg as the bonus 20ct ones.
Thank you, I do need to clarify my post - there are some 16+4 that are not on clearance - but the 16+4 ones that were on clearance here had the star on the top corner of the package with the words "Try NEW ULTRA ADVANCED Batteries" written on it. Those did ring up on clearance for me. See the picture above for an idea what the star looks like. :)
I recommend that if you come across a 16+4 pack that does not look like the new design, scan it and see what happens. I scanned several before I found the clearance ones.

POSSIBLE OVER 95% OFF DURACELL BATTERIES!
I bought 12 x 16-20 count packs of Duracell Batteries @ 1.48 each after coupons. Some of the attached coupons were store coupons and some were maufacturer coupons. I had some extra ones and so they honored store coupons for all 12 plus they honored the couple manuafacturer coupons I had too so those 2 packs were actually only .48 each. SO , if you can round up the coupons, manufacturer and store, you can get these batteries at less than 95% off!
You may have to hunt for them. Look at every "BATTERY CENTER" in the store - usually located at the end caps in toys, electronics & household.
The original price is $9.99 and the counts vary between 16-20.
I have a few pictures of the ones I found. Keep an eye out for the STAR on the top corner or stickers in the center. I also found some AAA ones where the batteries were all laid out flat (not layered).

I got duracell batteries in a flat pack of 12 (I think) and it had the 1$ off target coupon attached to the front of it. Today I found several packs at one of my stores but only 3 of them had the coupon on the front so I only bought three. I found mine in electronics. They were with the battery display on a clearance peg.......

Well, I ventured out again tonight and visited a store I had not hit yet.
First of all - I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! Thank you for all of your help, the advice, pictures, tips, etc... I know I can count on you all here to help me find the killer deals!
Duracell Batteries: One store had already salvaged them so they pulled them when I brought it to their attention, BUT they did give me the $1 off coupons that were on them. :) I went to the next store and they had one pack on clearance, bought them for $1.48 after the coupon.

What to look for with the batteries: Duracell changed the packaging (more plastic and less cardboard) and some of the quantity, so the 10 packs are now 12 packs for example. Once you get there you will see what I mean. Do look around the store for all the additional battery displays. You might find them there if the electronic dept. doesn't have any. (Also - don't forget the clearance end caps. That is where I found mine.)
Skelanimals: The purple-ish pink bunny and the fuzzy yellow chick are also on clearance. I have seen these put back on the shelf with the current toys. They are in the same isle as Webkinz. My daughter is 11 and she LOVES these funny looking stuffed toys... so something for the gift stockpile for older girls.
Speaking of Webkinz... I may have some good news for some of you - if you have a Target employee who will work with you. I found the little bunny Lil'Kinz - Webkinz back with the rest of the regular priced Webkinz. LovetoshopCA, you were right, the the bar code on the attached tag won't work so when scanned they come up not found. I took it to customer service and explained that it was part of an Easter gift bag and it had become seperated from that bag. She looked it up for me and sold it to me for $1.24. I had two, so I got them both.

I found the Christmas themed Chex Mix Muddy Buddies were still on the regular shelves priced the regular price but scanning half price right now in Aurora CO. I'm waiting until they HOPEFULLY go 90% off then they are mine!
Hopefully yours are on the shelf not marked clearance either so you can score on them too.
