  1. I'm with you on that one. Their online shopping is horrible! Not worth the time or effort. Half my stuff from my order was cancelled as it was "out of stock", even though I had paid for it. Totally inexcusable in the year 2010. On the bright side, if they are out of something now, you can order it right from the store with free shipping. (apparently there is a special phone back by customer service you use, my mil told me about it).
  2. OKay, I'm pretty quiet on the boards, but an avid shopper for three boys (10, 8, 6). My prediction for this age group is as follows: Harry Potter Legos, Harry Potter Legos, and oh yeah, Harry Potter Legos. Let's not forget the new Harry Potter Wii game that will be released on November 19th (to coincide with the movie, of course). Right now these are pre-order only, and TRU has them buy 2 get 1 free which equals to 33% off. The most TRU usually sales legos at is 25%, so this is a pretty good deal. Loading my cart up as we speak:D

Oh, I think you can get free shipping right now from TRU also, which is much better than the OUTRAGEOUS shipping that Lego.com charges. I am being charged $14.95 for shipping on Lego.com for the Brickmaster 2010 set and Pre-Order of Lego Universe. Stupid high. It's not like they are actually shipping this from Sweden for goodness sakes.

  3. Hey all,

After weeks of searching and holding out, it appears that TRU has the best price on the Fisher Price Kid Tough Camera. 69.99 - 10.00 - %20 (today) = 47.99

For anyone still looking for an inexpensive camera for the next age group, Mustek has rebfurbished digital cameras and video cameras starting at $5 (!!). Granted, their shipping is a little pricey (around $12-15), but still a great deal! http://www.mustekdirect.com then click on clearance, then rebfurbished.

On a side note.....I am totally unimpressed with the Cyber Monday deals. At first I was kicking myself for buying on Thursday because of the 20% off they are offering now, however, when I looked at the prices on a lot of things, they had bumped them back up. (so they 20% is kind of meaningless). Bottom line, very unimpressed with the deals. Lots of cash off on stuff nobody wants, but the high demand items aren't budging more than a few bucks.

  4. that's about par for Kohls. They pretty much treat customers as if they are doing you a favor by allowing you to shop there. I have never had good luck with customer service there (and that's when you can even FIND an associate). I guess that's the trade-off for great prices/deals. and that my dear would be why I shop online.
  5. That would be awesome!! I think gently used would be fine. I would be willing to help with shipping too. I know I've been going through my stuff too trying to figure out what would work:cheesy:

It never fails; two weeks before Christmas; too late to go through traditional channels...

The mom does work full-time, however, that is working against her. She makes $12/hr., which puts her over the limit for assistance, however, most of us realize that 12/hr doesn't really cut it for a family of 5.

  6. Hey everyone-

First of all let me say...this board rocks!!

    Now on to the show...

I have a family that I ran across in my job (officer of z law) that is in dire straights. No christmas tree, nothing, for christmas. We found a christmas tree at Family Dollar (manager cut us a deal)

I am looking for cheap (but good) deals to get the kids/mom stuff. This is coming out of me and my work partner's own money, so when I say cheap, I mean, you know, GOOD DEAL!! lol

This is who we are trying to buy for....

16 yr. old boy (maybe MP3 player?)

    10 yr. old boy

    6 yr. old boy

    3 yr. old girl

oh, and mom who is pregnant with #5 (girl) and has no maternity clothes that are less than 20 years old.

They need beds, curtains, furniture too (yikes!!).

    Any leads would be appreciated

    Thanks all,

    Michelle

  7. I start day after Christmas too and go all year. Tend to pick up more around July. I don't know if I'm getting old or what, but I am just losing patience with the whole BF race. As much as I love it, I can't stand the rudeness anymore. Used to be I could get off work and be one of the first in line at 4 a.m. Now, I'm lucky if I am one of the first 200 people in line at 4 a.m. Just doesn't seem worth it when I get 90% of the deals on line, without the hassle. just my .02
