  1. I have a 26" Samsung LCD, 32" Vizio LCD, and a 50" LG Plasma(also had a 42" Panasonic Plasma that I just sold to my parents so then I got the LG 50" to replace it). All 720P. Blue Ray looks great on all of them. I've looked at the same model/manufacturer 720P beside a 1080P several times and could not tell the difference in the picture to justify the 1080P price difference. My 2 cents.
  2. I've heard a rumor from a sales associate of a crazy deal on the Panasonic 50 inch 720p Plasma set that may take place for Black Friday. Two of my relatives have these HDTV's and they look very good. My father is now in the market for one. Tweeter in my area has them for $999 with $500 worth of free gas ($25 a month with $100 of mail in gas receipts) and Sears has the same set on sale for $999. I'm hearing this one may go even lower on Black Friday.
  3. I had picked up AMF Bowling Pinbusters a few weeks ago. After reading this thread I took it back to my local Gamespot last night. I had a 10% of coupon since I registered at Gamespot's web site and picked up a Wii Zapper with the Crossbow training for 22.49 (after 10% of fof 24.99). I could not find it at any of my local stores who had it for 19.99 (Target, Circuit City, Best Buy).
  4. I did the 42" Panasonic Plasma at Sears last year. I bought it a week before Black Friday. It was a Best Buy door buster the following Friday as a Black Friday special. Sears priced match + 10% of the difference as long as I came in with the receipt while the sale at Best Buy was going on between 5-11 am. Speak to the electronics manager before hand and make sure they will do this. I would get it in writing on your receipt cause I had to go to a different Sears for the price match. Go when crowded (when the door opens if you are doing a price match) so there will be less confrontation.
  5. I wanted to post this link for everyone who purchased this TV:

    According to the articles I read burn in should be less of a problem now than it was in the past. For the average user it shouldn't be a problem. Just be sure not to pause anything on the screen for long . Here is a link that describes this in more detail:

    During the break-in period (first 100-200 hours) I have seen the following setting level recommendations in some forums:

    Picture = 0

    Brightness = 0

    Color = -1

    Tint= -4

    Sharpness = -14

    Just Mode - distortion of 4:3

    Color Temp: Warm

    Enhance Black Level:Off

    Confirm Side Bars:Mid/Bright

  6. Any of you heading out late tonight to Sears should have no problem matching CC's $1199 price and getting 10% of the difference since it is a daily price. Some of us early risers were able to get this at the BB special 999 7 hour sale price + 10% of the difference this morning and some weren't depending on the store they went to. Doesn't seem fair....
  7. Yeap, I called the store where I purchased from this past Tuesday night and it was like no way are we going to price match door buster deals. I could have matched on the CC price 1199 there but I was like what the heck go for the BB 7 hour price 999. Then at the last minute I decided to go to the Sears closest to my house where I did not make the purchase and got very lucky. Like I said in my other replys, each Sears seems to be different and it just depends on when you go (crowds versus no crowds),who the salesperson/ manager are and what kind of day they are having. If I had went later in the day, I may not have gotten the price match. Like today the manager was so busy he didn't even have time to ask what the price match was and just wanted to take care of the needs of his salesperson and me so he could get to the next customer. The best thing about the whole deal is I've had this set up and running for days and didn't have to camp out for it(which I wouldn't have done any way). I couldn't have done it without all the advice I have read on these gottadeal forums.
  8. It was better to go at 5am to avoid the price match confrontation. I doubt Sears would want to start arguing in front of other customers. The store greeter was nice and the salesman was nice. Got credited 287 for a total of 981 including taxes. Sears was awesome today!
  9. Sears did price match me this morning very early in the crowded floor area on BB's price. I purchased this for 1267 (after a price match on Tweeter last Thursday) Got a $287 credit today for a total of $981 including taxes with the BB price match. I showed the salesman the printout of BB's 7 hour sale. No questions asked and manager came over and swiped his card to approve. Lots of customers around the register so they were trying to take care of my business asap. In the door at 5am and out at 5:15am.

    Sorry guys but I had my numbers wrong and got it for 1066 after taxes. Still not to shabby....

  10. I really doubt Sears will price match this and give 10% of the difference. If you get it, consider yourself lucky. I made a call to Sears and they said they would price match if the price is good all day Friday at the competitor on a previous purchase. You may have the upper hand since you have not bought it yet. I have been round and round with them about their price matching policy and I am going to give it another try on this one but doubt I will be successful. The thing I am so upset with right now is when I asked in detail about the price match policy in detail he said if I saw a price within the next 30 days to bring the advertisement in or local web site shopping cart and it would be matched and every time I bring something back to them its like well ...no it can't be with a coupon in the shopping cart....and I sure I will hear the same about this one..well no it can't be a seven hour sale....I would try CC first.
  11. I did have the 10% BB coupon in my hand but the salesman noticed it and stated right away it could not be used on this price match. Worth a try anyway. It'll be interesting to see what the price of this tv is come Super Bowl time. They always have good tv sales then.

    Yeah I had a Sears 10% off also at my time of purchase but they would not take it on top of a price match. They almost did and I about got away with it.

  12. Sears verbally told me they would price match on a price for an entire day...no door busters/limited quanities. I really don't know what this would be considered since it is a 7 hour sale (maybe a special promotion? which would not get a price match). Believe me, I will show it to them but doubt I will get it. I'm just hoping the CC deal is for all of Friday and/or Saturday so I can price match the 1199 plus 10% of the difference.

    But you can get lucky at some Sears stores. The ones I go to are pros at saying "No price match!".

  13. This thread has become addictive to see who gets the best deal. I need to watch the plasma some instead of reading this thread. What would be cool would be to hear someone who got it for $999 at BB...how long did they camp out? War stories?....I guess BB will hand out tickets for these since these are items you just can't pick up. Nah not worth the $100 bucks camping out and dealing with the elements and line crashers.

    Anyone who whips out a competitor's 10% coupon once they get a price match and gets it accepted will be the master at this because I was told that just isn't possible.
