  1. One year when I was a kid we went to Midnight Mass (because I was singing in the choir), we got home and opened some presents. I received an Atari 2600 and a couple games. I hooked it up while everyone else went to bed. I must've played until late into the night because in the morning everyone was ready for breakfast, I was fast asleep. As an adult, maybe my Sirius radio w/lifetime subscription.

  2. wow i am glad i am not the only one...i am actually looking to buy something just to hopefully gt in the mood of shopping.. who ever thought i wouldnt be in the mood to shop!! but for some reaosn i dont even get happy looking at ads

Yeah, you're definitely not the only one. The Pandemic and Election (with the hateful political ads) have wore a lot of us out. I cannot wait for Nov 4th, when all is said and done for the most part. I'd rather get bombarded with the Holiday ads then the political ads every commercial break. Plus a lot of places seeming to something different in regards to Black Friday is a bit odd as well.

  3. Anyone having a problem putting a Prime Day deal in your cart? On Gottadeal's home page there's a Halloween Candy ad on Amazon, it's a bag of 250 pieces of mixed chocolate Candy, Hershey's Reese's etc and it's not letting me add it to my cart on Amazon even though it says it's on sale and I'm a Prime Member.

  4. I grew up in NYC and it was always a tradition to watch parts (if not all) the parade (on NBC), I knew people that went, it wasn't as crazy as it is now security wise to get a spot. Now people have to be in place in the wee hours of the Morning. A classmate took their family and saw them blowing up some of the balloons. I think they'll be taping virtual singing spots beforehand, and they'll probably only do a block or two for the parade itself. It's going to be so strange this Holiday season. I hope you all stay safe.

  5. Something really cool happened last month.  I really like the Amazon Recast whole house DVR.  Besides streaming and recording OTA, the Recast has a grid style program guide that integrates OTT services.  Until July, those services were limited to Philo and Pluto plus Prime Channels.  In July, Amazon opened the guide to Sling TV, YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV...

May I ask, has Amazon ever put that Amazon Recast thing on Sale? Sounds like something we'd love. Sorry if that was too personal a question. I hope you all are doing well. Glad to be back and check in every once in a while.

  6. I'm not missing an instapot but I'm still waiting on 3 items from Black Friday. My fourth one was cancelled and refunded. Not happy at all with Walmart this year.

Yeah, I'm not happy at all with what happened. This was supposed to be a gift for my mother. With my fiancee passing in Sept and then having two surgeries since then I haven't had a lot of time to do physical shopping, and was really counting on this. Stinks.

  7. I would definitely call and ask for a manager.  Not acceptable to refund for something you wanted that was on sale.

I ordered 2 things on 11/22 and I'm still waiting for both of them.  Says they will arrive on Thursday, 12/6, but I'll believe it when I see it.  Between them and Best Buy they are the slowest shippers out there.  And they wonder why people order from Amazon.

I did call and got the run around. They saw where I asked for a replacement and not a refund, but said someone already refunded the money. They did say when they have it back in stock that I can purchase it at the sale price. I don't know if I'll hold my breath until WalMart comes through with this. So infuriating. I'm feeling like writing a letter to corporate, but that will probably do nothing.

  8. I got my instant pot from Kohl's (I don't love Walmart), but I did place an order with them for a couple other things. After that order I have placed 4 orders with Best Buy, 3 with Kohl's, and 3 with Target, and they have all been received. My Walmart order just shipped Friday. Wth Walmart?

Anyhow, I'm very sorry yours is lost, and I hope it ends up showing up. I did have that happen a few years ago with Best Buy, but they shipped me another, and then a few weeks later the original showed up. Seems Walmart could have done a little more for you. Maybe try calling instead?

I would definitely call and ask for a manager - a refund on something that was on sale is NOT the way this should be handled! :wife:

I will call, thanks for the advice.

  9. I was supposed to receive mine on the 27th, but it never came. Chatted with someone today online and they said it's lost in transit, that they could do a refund for me. I really wanted to give that as a gift. Anyone else have this happen with WalMart?

  10. It's A Wonderful Life

    A Christmas Story

    Christmas Vacation

    Elf

    Scrooged

    Die Hard

    The Grinch movie is good

there are probably other movies, I love a lot

I love the Rankin Bass Holiday Specials (Santa Claus is Comin to Town, Rudolph, Year Without a Santa Claus)

    Frosty the Snowman

    The original Grinch

    Charlie Brown Christmas special

I even like Santa Claus vs The Martians (MST3K version) lol

  11. I purchased an expensive drawing monitor on Amazon for dd last night and added the 4-year Square Trade for another $9.

Was just wondering what you thought of it if you ever had to use it?

I don't know about the item itself, but I know people who've bought Square Trade insurance and there's never been a complaint. Always got the item replaced in a quick amount of time.

  12. I'm so sorry to har that ajogg.  I'm sure that has to be super hard, not only being so new and fresh but also at this time of year.  I hope that you have some sort of support system at home.

Please feel free to post here if needed.  Hate the thought of others going through rough times as well, especially if they don't have anyone else to talk to.

I think that this was a good thing for you to start. A lot of need support, and hopefully we can build each other up (or at least cheer each other up) a bit.

  13. Posting to see if anyone else is suffering this year so maybe we can have our own thread to sympathize with each other amid all the other festive threads.   Don't want to make it a pity party, but it's always nice to know you aren't alone, so if anyone else is going through a tough time, feel free to post.     As well, if anyone has any ideas on how to beat these, please post.  Just can't seem to make myself get out to do anything fun or Christmas-y.

It's the first holiday without my daughter (only child) as she moved away this past spring to the other side of the country.  I'm also an only child and as such, only have my mother left to my family.   So I really don't even get the joy anymore in Christmas shopping for my DD since she only wants money sent to her.  In addition, I was just laid off of my job a month ago so any shopping or even participating in Black Friday this year is extremely limited and I have to make sure that any events don't cost much anyway.   I wish I had the comfort and support of my boyfriend as well, but he has his own family with kids, parents and siblings that he makes plans with.  I could certainly attend those events or even other friends invites, but nothing like feeling like a 3rd or 5th wheel in the room to help (NOT!) with the blues.

If anyone else is feeling alone this time of year, please post and let's help each other!

I hope things will be looking up for you soon. My fiancee passed away in September, so I'm sure the Holidays will be tough for me this year especially. She had been in and out of hospitals since October of 2017 and was home for about a month or so before having to go back into the hospital, and died after being in hospitals for 6 more weeks. I hope your boyfriend and friends can lift your spirits a bit, it does seem like a lot of people get the blues this time of year.

  14. Yeah that’s what I was afraid of. I had hope because it didn’t specifically say in store only. Oh well, I’m not gonna drive 20 miles and deal with people just for that. Thanks for your help!

Years ago I bought Guardians of the Galaxy on Vudu through Walmart, and I purchased it online. Hope it shows up online for you.
