  1. I bought a Toshiba notebook several years ago. By far, that one was the most cheaply put-together computer we have ever had. The first day, the clip that holds it closed broke off with normal closing. After a few months, the usb ports started coming out WITH the usb cords that were plugged in when we tried to unplug them. After 1 year, the screen decided to get a line going across it for no apparent reason.

Granted, I purchased this computer back in 2004, and maybe since then they have changed how their products are made. But I'll never have another Toshiba.

have bought 2 toshiba lt over the years I would buy Another one anytime
  2. Dynex is Best Buys in-house brand, I have the 37" Version of it bought it last year on BF. All in all I would pay the extra $100 and get the Samsung but that's just my opinion. I think the Samsung line of products is better in general they normally have a brighter and somewhat sharper picture. My major complaint about the Dynex is the sound, it's not very loud and lacks bass outside of that though it's been a pretty good TV.

i agree...go with the Samsung.......great sound and picture....i am thinking on saving a few bucks and get a samsung 32lcd for 499(300 m0del) on sale now in my bb store....i already have a 330 model i bought this last summer a serv plan replacement for a Westinghouse that went bad
  3. HDTV resolutions

Resolution, or picture detail, is the main reason why HDTV programs look so good. The standard-definition programming most of us watch today has at most 480 visible lines of detail, whereas HDTV has as many as 1,080. HDTV looks sharper and clearer than regular TV by a wide margin, especially on big-screen televisions. It actually comes in two different resolutions, called 1080i and 720p. One is not necessarily better than the other; 1080i has more lines and pixels, but 720p is a progressive-scan format that should deliver a smoother image that stays sharper during motion. Another format is also becoming better known: 1080p, which combines the superior resolution of 1080i with the progressive-scan smoothness of 720p. True 1080p content is scarce outside of Blu-ray, HD DVD and the latest video games, however, and none of the major networks has announced 1080p broadcasts.

I got this from BestBuy.com. If you're looking for the best, that means you'll have to spend more than you'd like. I read the comments of the Dynex and Insignia HDTV's and most people agreed that is a "You get what you pay for" product. You can still get a 32'' Westinghouse for $699 or a 37'' Insignia or Dynex for $750, both 720p.

Insignia or Dynex ...I like the pic on Insignia.....BUT I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THE DYNEX...PIC LOOKS BAD AND NEWER AND LESSER QUALITY OF BB brand....INSIGNIA..brand tv has been at bb longer.....anyway... does anyone else know who makes the set for bb....and chime in with more info...good luck everyone

UPDATE SOMETHING I FOUND ON THE WEB..

Who makes Insignia TV at bestbuy?

Insignia is a brand made & sold exclusively by Best Buy Stores. It's like their "in-house" brand. Same as if you bought Meijer brand ice cream... it's their "in-house" brand.

A lot of companies throw surplus parts that are sold to budget manufacturers who assemble and distribute the finished products at a low price.

Depending on which model Insignia you have your eye on, the manufacturer could be up 7 different companies. Xoceco Co. distributes them to Best Buy (they're an importer, but not a middle man because they're regulated by Best Buy Inc.)

A majority of the parts are from LG (and they also produce all the ATSC tuners for every HDTV built-in TV on the market and a plethora of other TV's), Philips-- which also has ties with LG-- and Toshiba has a share in creating the TV's as well.

AND SOME SAY PANEL is by SHARP

The same goes with brands like Vizio, Olevia and Westinghouse. Although I would choose an Insignia over any of these brands anyway because Insignia is a proprietary Brand name for Best Buy, and Best Buy supports and services all their products. Some of those brands are built from refurbished models that were bought in bulk from service centers, clearance centers, TV repair shops and are also made from surplus parts.

Insignia is a good TV, but I would not recommend using it as a main TV. It'd be perfect for a bedroom or a kid's room.

    I hope this helps!

  4. In regards to the 32" Westinhouse LCD HDTV for $479 on BF. BB does not currently have this model for sale on the storeroom floor (W3213), however, I had an employee check if they had any of this model in stock. He checked the computer and found that they had 17 in the back room. So, I purchased the TV (Model W3213) at full price $799, and I will be bringing in the receipt to have the price adjusted on BF. If they want to give me crap, I will be returning the TV, and then immediately re-purchasing it. I talked to two sales associates, and they said that if they wouldn't adjust the price. I would have to physically return it and then re-purchase it right back. Best case situation...they price match it. Worst case....I have to physically return it and re-purchase it. Horrible case scenario....I have to return it because they will not resell it to me (although I can't see what ground they have to stand in this case.)

Please let me know your thoughts.

I mean..... PEOPLE! this kind of activity is crazy....Why try to get it and fight for it..JUST THINK OF THE STRESS YOU AND everyone around you will suffer with this kind of purchase ploy.............Just take a deep breath and relax wfe
  5. I think it says the minidv camcorder (panasonic) is not a doorbuster. Does this mean it will be available online?? Thanks!:D

  6. Everyone keeps asking what time they should get in line to get a particular item. Unless you like waiting in lines, the thing to do is go to the store before Thursday and buy the item (perhaps at regular price). Then on Friday, get to the store right when the doors open. Let the people that have been waiting in line all night long file in and head for the good stuff. All you have to do is head for the Service Desk before the lines start getting backed up. Tell the clerk that you noticed the item you purchased earlier is now on sale and you'd like them to price match their ad. They'll be happy to do it and you'll be in and out in under 10 minutes.

I did this last year and will be doing it again this year. I've already purchased 2 of the 15" Advent LCD TV's (store only had 4 in stock) and the AT&T 5.8 GHZ phone system. I was very candid with the clerk that rang me up yesterday and told her what my plan was. She complimented my cunningness and confirmed that I would have no problems on Friday morning.

I have to admit; I think there is a real rush in the "stampede", but I'm getting too old to stand outside my local Best Buy for 8 hours just to assure that I'll get what I want when the doors open. Remember....shop smarter, not harder!

SOMEWHERE ON THIS SITE i READ THAT BB SENT OUT AN EMAIL THAT SOMEONE3 SAW and it forbids the price match.
  7. People have different experiences buying something from a pawn shop. Mine have always been bad when it comes to electronics. I won't buy them in a pawn shop any more. Remember, when you buy a DVD player for example from a pawnshop, you're buying somebody else's problem. Also, there's no warrantee so if the thing stops working properly 3 days after you buy it, good luck.

I have a question about my DVD Apex player. I've had it for about 2 years now and never had a problem. I got it at Walmart. Now, whenever I put a DVD in the player, I see on the TV screen --"Disc Loading" and then it immediately switches to "No Disc". Anyone know what could be wrong?

The disk is damaged like a crack or something ....look on the under side

  8. * Panasonic PV-GS31 MiniDV Camcorder w/ 26x Optical Zoom - $249.99 *

Does anyone know if this camcorder is worht getting? I don't care about snapshots, I just wanna record video then download to my computer and burn to DVD. Basically all I care about is that it will last and has decent video quality.

I got a panacam this last summer to hawaii..It made the trip......I will also say that in general the stills I took while filming WE'RE FANTASTIC .Being a fairly good photographer for my many years... I thought the close-up stills were mind blowing considering I thought the still feature on the camera was just a cheap add-on,,,BUT NO. It must be the optics or something!.!! It was so cool to have still out of a movie with out doing a capture,,,and you can pop out the SD card and transfer that way. I am looking to get another for my mom. For the price of $249 great I paid 350. and was still worth every penny.......And yes I thought it took great video for the price!!
