  1. I found the tape that was posted here and its still 2.XX ick!

The only item that was rining up $2 for me was the 3-pack of Gift Tape ("33% Bonus). All the other items (Individual rolls, pop up dispenser, and pop up refills) were ringing $.20.

I think the key to these items is that they say right on the item $2.00. The dispensers are hanging with the regular dispensers, which sell for something like $2.54, and the refills were hanging with the regular refills, priced $1.99.

  2. Saw this setup (pic below) at one of my many local Walmarts. There are queues setup at both sets of doors.

Also, there is quite a bit of inconsistency locally. This is the only Walmart (Vadnais Heights, MN) in the area with any sort of crowd control mechanism at the doors. Another local store (Fridley, MN) actually already has all the Black Friday items out in the aisles, wrapped with plastic wrap saying "Please don't remove me until I go on sale at 10PM on November 24, 2011." That store had almost all of the items (except TVs) out in the aisles yesterday, while the other local stores have nothing out yet.

  3. Hey does anyone have past experience PMing at WM with GC like the IPod with either $40 or $50 GC from Target or BB?

Technically, their price-match policy says they do NOT match gift-card offers. That being said, I would expect they will include a gift card by the time Black Friday comes around...

  4. So could I buy the things I wanted such as the toys the week of bf and then just go in on bf and have them price adjust?

Worst case, you have to return and re-buy, and if they give you any problems, I'd tell them that's exactly what I plan on doing. Sometimes, they change their minds ;)

  5. :clapping: Am I the only one excited about the $139 Xbox 360? Havent done midnight shopping before do they stay open all night and then do the sale at midnight?

I think it's more exciting at Walmart with a Kinect, a game, AND a $50 gift card for $199. You're basically getting a Kinect for $10, which costs $129 normally.

OR at Walmart.com with Gears of War, a free 3-month XBox Live card, and a $50 gift card for $199.

  6. I am overall unimpressed with their ad. They only beat Walmart on a few things (8GB SD card ($9 vs. $10) and XBox Live 3-month cards ($10 vs. $12)). I can just have those items matched at Walmart and be done with all my "big box" shopping by 11PM!

I'm quite surprised how non-competitive they are with bedding. Their sheets are $17-35 vs. Walmart's $7-17. I'm also surprised by the higher prices on small appliances. They don't have any super-cheap mixers, toasters, waffle makers, etc.

  7. I do not recommend trying to buy from their website on BF, they are well known for cancelling your orders with the excuse of we cant fill your order

The website has also been down no less than 3 times in the last 2-3 months, without "Black Friday"-levels of traffic...

  8. What you are thinking of the is the Wii U which is Nintendo's next big console and that won't be coming out until next year, BUT as of around October 23rd all new Wii consoles manufacturered and sold no longer include support for Gamecube games and accessories. So no the Wii U as it's called isn't out yet, it's just new Wiis being made don't support Gamecube games and such.

I highly suspect that anything Walmart will have in stores by November 24/25 was manufactured well before October 23. It is certainly possible that Nintendo is manufacturing them and shipping to the stores as we speak, but most of the Black Friday inventory is planned months and months in advance. Plus, when you take into account Walmart's scale, even if each store only gets 10 of the Wiis, that means Nintendo stills needs to produce more than 35,000 of them.

That being said, these Wiis were probably produced several months ago and are a.) either already in stores or b.) already in the distribution centers.

Again, it is definitely possible that I'm wrong and they are being produced as we speak, but I don't think it's likely. That is too big of a risk for Walmart and Nintendo in the off-chance that Nintendo couldn't meet production goals, etc. This ad has been planned for 10-12 months plus.
