  1. Just know that if you give them a homemade food item, it might not be eaten. People have so many food allergies and phobias, I stopped doing homemade food gifts a long time ago.

I work in a school and agree! We are inundated with food items all month long. Soaps, lotions and candles are another tough one with allergies and preferences.

Homemade cards are treasured! While gift cards seem impersonal, even one for $5 is appreciated.

  2. Went to two stores this a.m. Opened at regular time (10 a.m.) and throngs were waiting just like BF. Lots of crazy shoving and stroller ramming. Clearance items were extra 50% off, some beauty items like fragrance sets were just 50% off. Coach was wiped out within 5 minutes. Much smaller selections and longer lines than last year. Told hubby we might just skip it next year, although both stores are two easy miles from our house. I'd rather lounge around in pjs sipping coffee!

Arrived at 8am and already lots of people in the store. I agree, selection was much smaller then in year's past on the really good deals. Lots of stuff on sale but not as much 50% and 65%. Coach went fast and shoe area was mobbed. I took my time and then returned to shoes and got three pairs at a great price.

Bummed about the boys selection as I usually find a lot for my son but that was not the case this year.

I did find a super cute case for my Fire for $9. Overall I left happy but not with as many bags as in year's past.

  3. There were so many teenagers "hanging out" at the mall on BF, it just made me mad. Mad because they were not with their parents, they weren't shopping, they were just hanging out, basically in the way. Hanging out in front of the stores, standing in groups, and it was already crowded. Who drops their kid off at the mall at midnight to hang out???

Oh my goodness, it was the same way where I was shopping! I feel like the teens would not have gotten up at 4am but with all of the stores opening at midnight it was something to do. Mid way through the night they were all just laying around on the floor all over the mall. As if it wasn't crowded enough!

  4. Didn't get there until 8:30am so all of the Coach was gone. Snagged another great bag though at a "can't be beat price". The store was mobbed and hot but everyone was nice and after multiple trips to the car I left with a ton of great deals for me, my son and my husband!
