  1. I don't like the new pricing structure either. I used to be a loyal JCP shopper, but this new pricing plan isn't working for me. I hate Walmart, so to replicate their structure is a waste for me. I used to love Kohl's, but their merchandise was getting stale to me and their pricing has seemed to go up quite a bit this past year.

I will probably still shop JCP, but without the coupons they won't draw me in so much anymore. I'll pop in once in a blue moon. I'll also be buying my hair care products elsewhere since they won't be having sales or coupons that I can use on those. My new favorite store is Parisian (Bon Ton) in my area - guess it will stay that way for a while.

  2. I like it up on my high horse. Maybe I misunderstood your FIRST post if so well then I misunderstood your first post. If you don't MIND losing the amount you spend on Kohls Kash at your return tell them when you return the items that you used XX in Kohls Kash. As someone pointed out it will show on the receipt. I'd say the best bet would be to call customer service so you don't end up with a $500 in store credit If you don't want in store credit or it to be deducted from your return value just don't use the KohlsKash.

Approximate exactly how many certificates you'll actually end up qualifiying for. Use what you will actually earn after the returns (or even a close guesstimate) and don't use the rest. Simple solution no confusion. If its a close guesstimate then it won't matter what the policy is. If you didn't buy the things to earn the Kohls Kash then its a nonvalid issue because there is no requirement to actually use them.

I don't have time to look through my invoices to calculate what I'm keeping at the moment to know how much kohls cash I'll end up earning. After next week maybe I will have time. Right now, my priorities are helping take care of my sick father who is still in the hospital recovering from open heart surgery and being prepared for my best friends wedding next weekend. In the interim I'd still like to maintain my financial responsibility and not spend too much money this month without pulling money out of savings, but I don't want to loose out on free money (kohls cash). Sorry if all of this doesn't fit with the high horse stance.

  3. long story short, you spend the Kohls cash, when you return the item(s) you purchased and earned the Kohls cash with they will check to see if you used any of the Kohls cash you had earned. If you did, they will price adjust down the item and refund to your credit card. Or if you want the full price of the item, they will give you a merchandise credit.

Thank you for the clear answer! This helps me greatly. :-)

  4. I didn't place such a large order just to get the kohls cash, so lets get down from that high horse on people "working the system" and "doing the right thing". I'm working on not loosing what kohls cash I will actually earn - which at the moment I can't ascertain because I'm not sure which dress/shoes I'm going with. But I'd like to spend my kohls cash now so as not to loose whatever I did legit earn. But I also don't want to overspend so that I can't pay my bill in 2 weeks.

Bottom line, I don't want a merchandise credit for the original merchandise I will eventually return because I know I'm not keeping $500 worth of items and don't want to pay that high of a bill. So will they reduce the amount of what I'm returning by the amount of kohls cash I did not actually earn (because I'm returning the merchandise). Does anyone know?

  5. I've bought a ton of stuff online as I was trying to find a dress for an upcoming wedding. So I bought two sizes of each style, etc.

I know the majority of the merchandise I will return, but I kept a few non dress items too. I got $100 in Kohls cash for my total order.

A friend told me to use the $100 Kohls cash before I return my original merchandise, which I can easily do. But how do they adjust for that then? Will they give me a store credit for the amount of original merchandise I plan on returning? Or will they reduce my original merchandise by the amount of kohls cash I've used?

(P.S. - I know if you return something you've bought with kohls cash they give you an in store credit or you loose the kohls cash amoun, but thats not my current scenario.)

    Thanks for any input!

  7. I know it's a crazy price! I almost bought it at Walmart for $798. They were out of stock on the TV online and also in my local store. So I went home and checked online and Sams had it online for $748. I almost jumped on it, but my family members that have Sam's cards were out of town. So I decided to wait. I happened to check a week later and saw that the online price was $748 still, but my local club price was showing as $673.11! I couldn't believe it. I called on it and they said they weren't going to carry that TV anymore so they were marking them down and moving them out. The store in my area only had 1 left and I snagged it.

Being in FL I'm not sure they've dropped the price at your local club and/or if they will even do that (I'm sure if they can sell them at $748 they will). Michigan's economy sucks so bad right now most people are probably not buying the big ticket items so maybe that has something to do with reduced price locally?

    I still think it's a good price at $748 though - it's a great TV so far!

  8. Check your local Sams club too. They've had this price on the TV for about two weeks (online & in store) and in my area (and other area's) they've dropped the price in the stores on this TV down to $673.11. I picked one up at that price in Michigan last week and I'm loving it!

They are not showing this model online anymore and they were sold out online at Sams for the $748 price. But maybe they still have some in stores at that price or the lower $673.11? Might be worth checking out for the lower price.

  9. Watch your statement from whatever account you purchase the shoes from. I too had them cancel a pair of shoes I ordered before X-mas and yet they still charged me for them!

I called customer service and they corrected the situation, but they couldn't find where they charged me and it was a bit of a mess straightening it all out. Also, they charged me a little more for another pair of shoes where the price on my statement/shipping invoice didn't match up with the e-mail.

So just keep an eye on them. They made it all right, but I was surprised they made such an error like they did.

  10. Can someone please help me figure out how to print some type of gift note, stating this mag. is coming to them? I can't seem to find anything!

    TIA!:)

Click on the magazine you want to order. Under the dropdown for subscription options, you should see information on availability, cancellation and then the next paragraph will ask if you want to give the magazine as a gift. In that paragraph there is a link for "gift notification card" that you can print.

Hope this helps. I was on the smart money magazine when I found the info.

  11. I'm looking at appliances too for the Holiday's. I'd like to get a new stove and above the range microwave. My parents give a decent amount of money for X-mas and I can get $150 gift card to Home Depot from my American Express points (corporate card).

Now I just have to hope Home Depot might have some good deals. I'd look at Sears, but I think I'd only get $75 for a American Express gift card to be used there. So I will be deal shopping between the two to see what might be a good option.
