  1. I would not suggest anyone use Norton or Macafee They are so proccess hungry its not even funny and good luck removing them. It may look like there gone when you uninstall but trust me they are not. The best paid program I have ever found is PC Cillin antivirus from best buy. 39.99 and comes with 3 licenses. You can purchase another license online for like 7.99.
  2. Confirmed By my Brother. An Email came from Corp. Best Buy. They are to Redo do Schedules for the weekend of the 16th. The store will open at 6:00 am. Overtime was authorized if needed and the stores should be fully staffed. They said there will be a conference call on Monday At 7:00 am and all department managers and Store manager should be present. Something big is in the maken!!!!!!!! :cheesy:
  3. I heard from a friend of my wifes that Walmart will be doing a black friday round 2 on December 15th. She is a Ast store Manager and said corp. called them yesterday and told them there will be huge sales and tons of rollbacks. They are determined to turn there numbers around and will do whatever it takes to get people in the stores to shop. Do you guys think if this does happen other stores will follow? :yup:
  4. I was number 1 in line at our best buy. I was wearing my Geek squad shirt. Off duty of course. I had bought some of those cheap printable business cards and printed the best buy logo on top and then a number 1 through 100. When someone got there the had to sign a card and then sign a master log that I kept with there name number and time of arrival. When they came out to hand tickets out the store manager came out and asked for my list. she went down the line with the guys and if there was any question she would ask for the card and match it to the list. There was a bunch of last minute friends and familly showing up and cutting line. Guess what if you don't have a card go to the back is what she said. It worked out great and she loved it this way. It will now be a standard at our best buy. :yup:
  5. I for one am with you. I never wanted to scare anyone from this comp. But we do have to be careful how we word things as to not let people think they can run out and put power house stuff in here and just run like that. I build my own comps and my wife has a compaq and I am tired of hearing how come She always gets my left overs. I will purchase this and throw my p4 640 in it with ati card and 2 gig ocz ram with a new power supply and that will fix her. What she does not know is I already ordered my Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80562QX6700 :cheesy:
  6. I'd be willing to bet the power supply will handle it fine. As for cooling, the X1600 has active, not passive cooling, so I think they'll be fine in that regard as well. Anyone that's upgrading the card is very capable of swapping power supplies in a worst case scenario. And a 160mm fan or two wouldn't be hard to add as well. I'm unsure how these cases are cooled myself. I just don't want to scare people away form upgrading this when in reality, chances are it'll take all those upgrades fine.

Here is a few reviews from newegg

Pros: great cheap graphics card runs great

Cons: it tends to overheat like crazy make sure if buying this you have plenty of cooling fans and a well ventelated case.

Other Thoughts: good graphics card needs to be cooled a lot very cheap but still becomes extremely hot probably goin to upgrade it in the next few months

Excellent card for the $$, ATI offers the absolute BEST support available, new drivers released monthly.

Cons: heat tends to be a problem for this card *IF* you dont have adequate cooling in your PC. I have had no problems running two of these cards in crossfire, side by side, just keep my case fans turned up :)

  7. The official ad on Best Buys website, located HERE states the PC is a Intel Celeron D 352 which is, in fact, a 3.2 Ghz machine. This is listed with the T3522 eMachines code so I am thinking the call center made a mistake. Easy to do since even emachines.com and e4me.com do not have this system listed (at least not that I have seen)

If you plan on gaming, definately pick up an after-market graphics card because the provided "media accelerator" really will just not cut it. There are many card available, including one on sale at Best Buy, but, if you want true gaming performance, I would say look to higher end cards and not just sale items.

Besides, the sale card ( ATI x1600 Pro 512 MB PCIe ) only has a minimum of 5 in store so it will be more of a fight for them than the pc since you get a ticket for the PC but not the card.

Here are the specs according to Best Buy :

    Intel® Celeron® D processor 352 with Intel® EM64T enhancement,

    512MB PC4200 DDR2 memory, DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive,

100GB hard drive and Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900

15" flat-panel LCD monitor with fast 16 ms response time,

400:1 contrast ratio and antiglare screen coating

Compact PIXMA photo printer with ChromaLife100 technology for long-lasting,

    borderless 4" x 6" photos

Hope this helps you all out.

You also should be careful telling people to get to high end of a video card for this machine. For one they are very power hungry and unless you upgrade the power supply it may not boot at all or be very unstable. Not to mention these cases are not the best and you run the risk of cooling issues.

  8. I had a chat with E-Machines tech live chat and got the official specs of the 189.00 computer.

  10. Here is the deal. We all complain year after year about line cutters. Best Buy steps in to help and now everyone complains its not right or it should be done this way or that way. The truth is, it is not Best Buys responsibilty to make sure you or me are #1 or #500 they are there to sell the product the advertise to sell to us, not babysit a bunch of adults that can't follow some simple rules we were taught from the minute we could talk. So I think we should all just be gratefull that they do what they do. :(
  11. i agree with the person that says its illogical cause how can i pay for a 2000 dollar tv when i dont even have a credit card? carry a load of cash? i dont think so...

What does this have to do with line jumping?
