  1. Does anyone know if some of the Easter candy is marked down on the same schedule as regular Easter decorations? I know most stores have gone to only marking candy to 30% the day after, but I wondered if some of the candy is part of the normal markdowns with decorations??

I'm specifically interested in the Hersheys solid chocolate rabbits that sell in a pack of 10 (I think). They have them in Santas at Christmas time too.

Seems like at Christmas there was some candy that did get marked to 1/2 price the day after.... or maybe I am dreaming??? LOL

Just thought I would ask to save myself a trip.

I bought dh some Dove chocolate bunnies that were 1/2 off. It did look like only the bagged stuff was 30% at my store as well.

Thought I'd struck gold when I saw the pile of Spring Oreos, but not even 30% off...bummer.

  2. If it makes you feel better, there were still 5 or so Tie Fighters when I was there around noon yesterday. All the Transformer Leo Primes were gone though. I went ahead and bought some at 50% off a few weeks, but I really hoped for $4.98.

Now if anyone sees the Hinkles knives go 50%, please let me know! Last I knew, there were still some in the Branson, MO store. I got a set of Hinkles as a wedding gift 6 years ago, and I wouldn't think twice about buying another set.

That does make me feel better!

I have a set of those knives that I bought over the summer when Branson had them on TPC and love them. I'll be down there on the 19th and I'll let you know if I see a markdown!

  3. So I have been dying to get one of the Tie Fighters for DS5 at 75%-yesterday there were at least 15 of them left and then 3:30 today-NONE! So frustrating, I think we have some resellers or something. It's so annoying!

Did see a nice buy though- Hampton Forge knife set with block for 12.48 reg. 49.99. I just bought new knives, so I passed and don't have a DCPI. There were 3 left. They're the walnut-colored wooden handled ones.

  4. Thanks for reminding me about that. Totally forgot about rainchecks. Thinking back...I was never even offered one nor did they have them on the shelf! Thanks again!

Our store isn't very good about putting them out until someone asks for it. But they're actually pretty handy (the rainchecks). Sometimes if an item is on sale and they've put rainchecks out, I'll go ahead and grab one if it is something I know there might be a good coupon for. Did that when they had one of the $15 Leapster game sales. I got a couple of rainchecks and then just waited until new Leapster coupons came out.

  5. Extremely annoyed with Target right now....which is a first. Their new ad yesterday advertised the Graco high back TurboBooster car seat for $35. I thought it was a great deal since they're normally around $50. DS desperately needs a new one...and so I thought...score! Get to the store...come to find out...not only are THEY out of stock, but so is every other store within 50 miles. After calling around a couple to find out if they'll be getting more...I got one answer saying "we might get some on Wed., that's when our trucks come."

    Great! Thanks!

Why wouldn't they ensure they had these in stock considering it is in their weekly ad? Because I seriously doubt everyone just bought them all out between Sunday evening and Monday at 9am.

    Okay. Vent over.

I thought they got a truck every night except Sunday??

Make sure you get a rain check in case they don't come in before Saturday. I think they're good for quite some time.

  6. Do you mean kitchen pots & pans? They did a big round of kitchenware clearance about a month ago, where some people scored Calphalon, Kitchenaid, and/or Paula Deen pans. If I remember correctly the next big reset of the department happens around September.

Well bummer. Yes, that's exactly what I need and now that you mention I do remember that last month. Ah well, guess I might have to (gasp!) look somewhere other than Target.

  7. At my store, in Chula Vista (Eastlake) they had tons of dial soap, sharpies, oatmeal, shampoo, toothpaste, plastic cups and paper plates. No diapers, but they did have the double pack of the Up and Up formula for $9.88 for 2 25.75 oz cans. I got 2 of them. Has anyone used that brand? It says its similar to Similac and Enfamil. There were 3 2 packs left and I am tempted to have DH get them on the way home from work...

I loved that formula. Both of my boys seemed to prefer it and I thought it dissolved faster and stained less. It's all we used. That was before it was "up & up" and it was just T brand, but I doubt anything has changed but the packaging. Nice deal.

I'm desperately needing a new pan set-has anyone seen a good clearance on any at Target lately? I don't remember seeing any on the boards and it seems Target has clearanced out everything else, so I'm hopeful...

  8. I think the reason why they are randomly popping back up in stock is because of the delay in shipping email I'm sure everyone else got stating that they wouldn't be delivered until March 10-20, so people are canceling their orders like I did this morning.

I got that email this morning too and figured that I'd get another soon saying my order was canceled, but I just got an order shipped email with tracking number... Hoping all is well-I was pretty happy about the deal!

  9. Let me know what you decided- and if it was worth it. I got a couple of sweaters for Kate that weren't so cute, I thought she could wear them for play if needed. The are so pretty on her- can't believe the difference.

Oh- and Tony could have bought a women's one.. We're Lions fans, we feel no shame!

We went. Probably wasn't really worth it. We picked up a few more things of course, but Springfield had a better selection I think.

  10. I found lots of shirts for Kate and several for Ethan, but didn't see much for smaller boys. I didn't find anything for myself, but by the time I got done with the kids stuff, Kate was getting antsy. I did go in hopes of getting one of the women's Lions shirts on clearance, but they were full price :eyepoppin Lions stuff has been on clearance since season started! No one but me and your husband would buy it here.

I didn't find a lot for Brad either- but he's such an awkward size.

I figured it would be today a couple of weeks ago and it totally slipped my mind this morning! I guess it was because it wasn't accompanied by a natural disaster.

Tony just saw those Lions shirts last week! He was so bummed that they only had them in women's. And yes, the toddler boys section was a total bust. Didn't find anything for Joel. We're sitting here debating heading down to Branson to see what they've got. But oh I hate Branson...

  11. My FAVORITE sale of the year and it started today. It's buried in the Old Navy Weekly coupon thread. Check there for a $10 off of $50 purchase coupon to sweeten this.

I just picked up $2000 worth of clothes for $73.69. They had tons and tons of stuff.

Yep! Just added up my receipt and I got $465 worth of stuff for like nothing! I used the 25% off coupon from oldnavyweekly.com.

Just tried everything on and amazingly enough it's all cute and fits great-that never happens!

Wasn't too impressed with the kids' selections, but cleaned up for the hub and myself.

  12. sallnori- did camping go today or yesterday?

I went yesterday and most toys were 50%, and camping was still stuck at the same 30%-50% it has been for weeks.

They were marking the camping stuff as I left the Springfield store. One of the girls scanned the thing I wanted and said it wasn't going to be marked down any more today, but I don't believe her... I need to run back in later for a prescription, so I figure I'll check again then.

  13. I totally forgot to mention... I have been looking forward to the Global Home (or whatever the heck it's called lately, Home Design?) being set up in the void from the Christmas stuff, but instead my Target had set up what they are calling "The Great Save Event". There were crazy loud orange and pink signs all over and they seriously made the whole section look like a dollar store. They were claiming "huge savings without a warehouse store membership". It looked like they had the usual big packs of paper towels but also small appliances like toaster ovens.

Here is the link to it on their website:

Am I just confused, and they usually set up Global Home/Home Design later in the month? Or is there going to be none this year, in which case I will seriously cry?

I actually like this-I agree the signage is tacky, but there are some pretty good deals on basic stuff. I noticed that a lot of it is quite a bit cheaper than Sam's (which I think rarely has good deals on anything) and you can use coupons. I'm figuring they will clearance it all out a month or two from now to make room for Easter/Spring and I'll be ready to stock up!

  14. Springfield MO is 75% today. They had brought out quite a bit of stuff. Some I swear I'd never seen before-a bobblehead Darth Vader dressed like Santa?? I would have paid full price for that but was thrilled to see a whole pile of them for 75% off!! They had also brought out loads of paper towels, foil and gladware. I bought quite a bit and there was still plenty left. The best find for me was sharpies for .24 each. The hubby found a whole rack of them! They are individually packaged with snowflakes (I think??) on the background of the package. They are clearly Christmas so I think they must have brought them out overnight to have so many left. We both teach and go through them like crazy.

Really wanted to find more trash bags (only found one box this year...) but as they say at my kids' school: "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit"!

I'm still using the dishwasher tabs from last year too! There are only two boxes left in the garage, so I really wanted to find more. Ah....Target has spoiled me.

  15. I always find good stuff at the Kirkwood store!

I picked up some 'Emergency Ponchos' for 50¢ at Spfd last night. They were half off. I should have bought more- DH laughed at me, but trust me, we've needed emergency ponchos before! They are in the camping gear.

I usually like Kirkwood, but last month I was in there and it was just trashed! We stay in Chesterfield and I usually do pretty well there. I also always run in to the Brentwood store when we make a Trader Joe's stop before heading home.

Were there more of the ponchos? I like to keep them in the car for pop up showers at the soccer fields!

We're watching those twin blow-up beds-they had a ton yesterday morning, so I'm hoping to get them at least half off.

  16. msharpsteen- they weren't mine!! I was there last night (SPFD) and they had a lot left. Let's hope it stays that way.

Thanks for the info. I guess I should call the lake to see what they are at. Because Branson went a day early, that means we have two days of 90%!!

I'll be there first thing in the morning! I'll be in St. Louis this weekend, so I'm hoping to find a few more things there. I always seem to get lucky in the city!!!

  17. Branson MO is 75% off Christmas and they were bringing out flatbeds full of more stuff the entire time I was shopping-seemed to be mostly ornaments. I was surprised to find tons of LED lights and yard decor. That stuff goes quick around here.

Came back home to Springfield to find it still 50% off, but still lots of stuff and the girl that checked me out said they still have a lot in the back as well. I wouldn't be surprised if we go 75% tomorrow.

By the way-sorry if all the stashed foil and ziploc bags was one of you guys...I've really scored the last few days finding slightly hidden paper goods...
