  1. My favorite moment:

Only going to 1 store (Sears) where I had called ahead, found out they carried the same camcorder on Best Buys BF ad,waiting a short time in line, gettting a $10 gift card & 110% price match. $142 camcorder that retailed over $300. Was at work by 7:00am.

  2. I kicked what I thought was an empty Kentucky Fried Chicken box only to discover that someone had pooped in it.

Knowing me, I would have taken the closed box back to KFC & said I think my chicken isn't done.....and run like heck out of there as they open it.:cheesy:

  3. Glad I was able to help fellow GDers on this. I orignally posted it on the Sears BF board as soon as I got to work on BF after purchasing. I then thought about the likelihood that many who went to BB would also have been looking for this when they ran out that morning. I would have posted this as early as Wednesday, but since the Sears I was going to only had 2 in stock, I had to make sure I wasn't giving mine away.
  4. ....the Panasonic miniDV for $159.99 (PV-GS39), it may be available at your local Sears & is available at Sears.com (price matching a little more difficult). With the 110% price matching guarantee & early bird gift card, I got one of the two they had in-store at my Sears for $141.68 walkout. Still not a bad deal just to get the $17 off for price matching.
  5. I can now divulge my secret price match. The Panasonic miniDV (PV-GS39) camcorder listed on the Friday-Saturday back page of Best Buy is available at Sears (YMMV) & they did ad match for me (YMMV). This is $329.99 at Sears. I ad matched to $159.99, got $17 off for the 110% price guarantee & another $10 for the gift card. Total was $141.68 with tax. That's $197 off or 60% off retail.
  6. Sears for me (only 110% ad matching). If they honor it, it will be the mother-of-all-ad-matches & will save me a great deal of wait time. If they refuse, I may wind up in jail & never step foot in a Sears again.

Then Wally hopefully getting the $3.50 towels (they're really nice).

    Then work.

  7. Scott1000: I went to 2 Walgreen's on Friday looking for the Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce & asked for them to look around/in the back. None to be found. Finally I just took the add to Walmart & add matched. I would have just paid the price difference as after a while you gotta wonder if $0.20 is worth wasting your gas.

My other beef with Walgreens (in case you want feedback) is that the prices of sale & buy-one get one free often rings up wrong/is charged. I have to be careful to total in my head the total cost since the recipts will often discount at the end.

  8. Don't forget that Home Depot has the 61/2 ft prelit tree for $29.99 with FAR $30 Home Depot card. Okay, forget it if you are going to the same St. Louis store I am & but the last one before me!:gdparanoid:
  9. I'm heading off to Walmart to start scanning prices to see if any BF items are priced early (that are not already noted). Even if I can get the Levi Jeans or DVD Recorder/VCR to layaway I would be thrilled. Wish me luck!
  10. I've went one BF to the BB in O'Fallon, IL (downstate to you yankees). Appx 700 peeps waiting to get in when they opened. We came in about an hour later & wound up wasting 2 hours of our alternative shopping standing in the checkout line that wound in and arround appliances. This year I will only go IF it is the one near work in StL & I get there in time for the $189 PC.
  11. NEVER get a kid a cell phone that has a per call rate for text messages. My step-daughter taught us a big lesson in that regard. I hope someday that all parts of the country will have multiple carrier choices with no roaming & long distance. Right now the same monopoly exists that used to exist in the local telephone, ISP, etc.
  12. Yeah, I am so happy that Tide is on sale again. It is a great price when I have $1 coupons. I will make as many trips as I have coupons for.

As mentioned above, don't count on Walgreens to carry more than a few each of the BF items. Last year I was 1st in line at 7:00am on BF (actually after I checked out there might have been 3 others in the store). I got 2 Tide's @ $1.99 & I think they had 1 left.

This week's add had stuff like Ocean Srpay Cranberry Sauce for $0.79. After going to 2 Walgreens who didn't even have a price marker where the product should go, I gave up & will take the add to Super Wallyworld to add match.

  13. Might I suggest those wanting the 26" Walmart BF bike for $39 (Quest Sierra brand) take their happy selves over to Toys R Us for the $39 24" or 26" Huffy bike they have on sale all day today & tomorrow?!?!? Ad can be found under BF Toys R Us post.

Also use the $5 off $25 coupon found in Offline Deals to sweeten the deal!

  14. A forewarning on the Walmart BF bike. It is a special order item (like most Walmart BF items). I got one for my wife last BF. She rode it a few times times after the spring thawout & the bearings in the pedal gear fell out & the pedal came apart. Since it was unlikely we could return/replace this one time offer item, I pitched it a couple of months ago. So you may want to be wary of the quality.
