  1. My DH works all over the country and is rarely home. (68 days so far this entire year) So...I make the list, I brainstorm the ideas, I budget, I go to the store and get the gifts, I wrap the gifts, I package the gifts for shipping, I take the gifts to the postal place and mail them. Since I do it all myself, I don't have to put up with him complaining about what I spend or his procratstination that leaves us freaking out at the last minute. (and spending TONS more to rush deliver gifts) So far, I am finished shopping except the 3 items(big ticket to boot) I plan on getting on Black Friday. He will be home for that day so he can complain about how much we spend that one day. LOL
  2. I ask the people who I send the gifts to what their tree theme is. (I asked in October this year...LOL) I get paper the minute I find it. I run all over creation looking for boxes that will work for each package. (Micheals and Big Lots) Today...November 11th, I have everything but the items I plan on getting Black Friday (3 things) wrapped and ready to ship. I have plenty of paper left to use for those items.
  3. I make a point to be OVERLY nice to checkers...year round. I've had terrible customers and do NOT want to be remembered by an associate at any store by being nasty or rude. I"ll never forget one really nasty old woman and what she said to me once.
  4. I saw in Family Circle magazine a Barbie locket digital camera. It's adorable and I so wish they would have had them for my kids. It says it has but 2 buttons on it, holds 50 photos, comes with editing software and it's a webcam. From Disney Electronics $30 disneyelectronics.com
  5. I was going to ask a similar question...does the "sale" start at 5AM (or whatever time it is). Is that when they allow the price? I guess I'll call my store and ask...I'll let ya'll know what my store says. LOL
  6. That is a great idea but do you ever get "caught" with GC's that expire or the threat of experation?? Something to consider when purchasing them early. Some retailers DO put an experation date on them!!!
  7. My mom...yard decoration thing I found on clearance. Her DH...a grill BBQ gift set Both-Harry and Davids gift basket. His mom- laptop computer His dad- paying for his glasses since he can't afford them His dad and his wife-Harry and David gift basket Luckily, I've got my grandpa and my great grandmother to buy for as well Grampa-t-shirt for him and his wife-Harry and David basket Great Gramma- pretty candle holder thing possibly a stationary set...we write to each other at least weekly I tend to spend more on his family. His mom works so hard (at Walmart in a small town) and does all she can for everyone she lives near. She even does for her ex-husband!! (when it's needed and his wife can't be bothered) She doesn't have a husband like my mom who will spoil her...so we do what we can. His dad, well, his wife is not the greatest support system. She works but doesn't contribute to the household. We do what we can to spoil him a little too. LOL
  8. Guilty!!! We got some great toys one year(for toy drives) and it didn't fit in the cab of the truck. We did make the trip home and then back at it. I didn't want to leave 4 bikes in the back while we shopped at another store.
