  1. I vow to get in line early with the family and enjoy the night....we always make it such an experience. Games, music, fun. It is why I go every year. Deals smeals....who cares? (okay maybe just a little bit...okay a lot, but I do it for the family fun and the deals are a bonus!) I didn't get to go last year due to food poisoning... so I am really looking forward to this year...
  2. The MM juice is certainly not FRAUD. LOL These were on the floor for that price. I'm pretty sure in most states the law would actually force Target to sell them for .69. It is Target's responsibility to price their items correctly.

However, the coupon was clearly for a different product. If the customer was ignorant, it wasn't fraud. If the customer was aware and trying to pull one over on a dumb Target employee, then yes that would be fraud.

These are 2 completely different things.

    Folks,

I enjoy a healthy debate and by no means am I trying to attack anyone at all.

My first instinct would be that the ethical thing to do would be to only use the coupon for the product which it was intended.

But upon further thought, I was just wondering if the people who thought that using the $10 coupon on the book also did NOT buy any MM. After all, we all know that they were not intended to sell for .69 for the whole pack, it just happened to scan that way due to a mistake on Target's part. Wasn't buying these fraud too? Wasn't the ethical thing to do is to report this to the manager or pay .69 for each juice. Didn't we all just take advantage of this Target scanning mistake? When Target figured out they were losing money, they fixed the problem.

Is this really any different? When Target figures out what is wrong, they will fix the problem.

I guess what I am wondering is that if the something scans, then how much responsibility is on the consumer to make ethical choices during these deals? If the system is programmed a certain way, then is it cheating the system or jumping through a loophole?

Thank you so much. I will use these for some books for the reading system that we already got a smokin deal on.

  4. Went to my target and checked the Tag systems....they were marked down to $34.98. I used the $10 coupon I printed out before going so it was $24.98. Not too bad...I didn't want to take a chance I would miss out when it went down 50%. I also got one of the books that had been marked down to $3.48...used a $4 off coupon so it was free:-) That made me feel better about not waiting for the Tag system to be marked down 50%....lol...

Where did you get a $4 off coupon? I have only been able to find $3 off. Not that I mind paying $.48 for the books, but free just sounds AWESOME!!

  5. Its highly possible that I missed it too! They haven't been doing things all that "normal" in the last year LOL

You didn't miss it. They salvaged it all. I was there at 8 this morning while the lady was doing the markdowns and when she came to the TV and dvd players that I wanted, she threw them in her cart and said they were salvage. UGGG!! I drove to the Target that is farthest away from me because they had so many and then they weren't even there. I then went to another Target to check and see if they were maybe going to do it differently. NOPE! They were also salvaging when I got there.

  6. Yeah, I have seen that one. Is there anywhere on there saying anything about secret deals online. Thats where the best deals were last year. Thank you so much for looking. You are feeding a junkie her drug of choice. ;)
  7. Are they ads the same? It is only 12 45 here so I still have hours to wait. Is there an insert ad for Best Buy like they did last year with stuff other than what was in the ad leaked here? Please please please. I need my fix.:D:eyepoppin
  8. It really REALLY depends on the kid and where you are at. I live in Phoenix. My son would be fine with a light jacket and a pillow. He is a great sleeper and nothing fazes him. He is up early in the morning anyways so this would just be a little earlier than usual. I am planning on taking my son who will be 20months at the time and taking a little pop up tent so that he can sleep in line without all the distraction and then after Best Buy I will take him home to an early nap (for both of us). I know a lot of people frown on the kids in line, but only you know if your kid can handle it. I would never take my daughter (now 5). She is my whine child. She would be asking if it was time to go the minute we got in line. My son on the other hand is easy going. Plus I will be thee with my MIL my SIL my FIL my husband My other SIL, and possibly my sister so I will have PLENTY of help with the little guy. If you have someone to help you, I say go for it.
  9. Whoo hoo!!! Lots of veterans and newbies.... I am 24 now and I have been going for 14 years:eyepoppin. Every woman in my family starts shopping at 10 for Black Friday!!! I have a lot of younger cousin and my Mom and my aunts would make list for each store and we would split up and go to all the different stores. At the end of the day we would meet have lunch and divie up the loot...then go home and sleep it off! :tired:
  10. I went to CC on a hope that House season 1 would still be there. I had very little belief that it would be but I thought what the heck. ( It was already 10 am). I went in and it wasnt in the bin where it was supposed to be so I was kinda bummed. I asked a couple of clerks if they had seen it anywhere else in the store. They all told me no. I was ready to give up and my mother in law started snooping around the go-backs. and lo and behold there it was ONE copy of house season 1. Yeah!!! Needless to say I was estatic!! Not only did I find that in the go backs, as I was walking to get in line (a very long line) I found the other movie I had been looking for in the asile that I happened to walk down sitting on the floor. I lucked out at CC.
  11. We always go in a big group...but this year is going to be even bigger. I am taking my hubby this year (he keeps going back and forth on wether he really wants to go or not....but hes going whether he likes it or not!! lol) Im going to pull the pregnancy card and that I need my "Big protective husband" to run interference and make sure I dont get hurt. Im also taking my cousins wife, and a girl I work with. The girl I work with sweats shes a hardcore shopper...but I dont know if I buy it...shes never gone on Black Friday...how hardcore can you be?
  12. I personally try to avoid the actual mall until later in the day unless there is a deal I can't do without. I live on the Northeast side of town and we usually go to the Walmart, Best Buy and Khols right off the 101 and Rain Tree ( the equivalant of Thunderbird on the East side). Its great. They are all right next to each other in ther same basic parking lot. Walmart there is 24 hours so we use that for the rest room and take turns while the group is waiting in line at Best Buy scouting out the early birds at Walmart, that way when we are done at Best Buy we can go straight there and know where we are going and split up accordingly. It shaves off precious time wasted so that we may continue the madness that is Black Friday!!
  13. I am going this year closing in on 7 months pregnant and think itll be fun. Last year my sister was 8 months pregnant and she did fine. We went in a group and used her for line holding purposes. (So less pushing, and fighting for the good stuff). You might suggest you getting her items and her holding your place in line. (Its a win win situation!!!) It killed like an hour at Best Buy for our group.
  14. Last year my mother, mother in law, sister, sister in law, and myself lined up by 9:30 pm. This year, my sister in law (who needs to go to the looney bin) thinks that we should be in line at Best Buy no later than 5. I am trying to convince them that that is totally insane, not to mention family dinner! ( I have a ton of family in Phoenix and have to make a couple stops during the day, man I am going to be beat if she actually gets her way.) ;)
  15. I hid something there at 50% and went back the next day and got it for 75%off. They didnt say anything to me or put it back and I still got my item. : :bunny:
  16. Everything is put on CC but when the bill comes in it all goes away and we are left with some nice rewards.... I agree with the theory "If ther is not enough in the bank to cover it, then we dont need it"
  17. Princess dress up kit. Includes dress, shoes, crown, and wand. seperately they cost about $6-8 a piece (Walmart $10). I got one for a friends little girls third birthday and while I was checking out my 2 and 1/2 y/o kept saying that it was hers so of course I had to back and get her one. "Big girl things" Kid DVDs that are "all" hers. Play kitchen with all the goodies (Toys r Us was having a sale I dont know when it ends though). I gave a couple different price ranges. hope that helps
  18. My group got in line at around 10 p.m. and were about 12-16th in line. At about 2 am this group of 6 or 7 Jamacian (sp?) women show up and just step in line in front of us. By this point there is at least 20 people behind us, and everyone starts after them about cutting. All but 2 of the women get up and go to the end of the line. (Only after what I can assume was cussing in a different language). People start talking to the other two ladies who are still in front of us. They claim that they had driven by earlier that night and saw the line, then they left to go pick up the rest of their people and that if they had stayed that would have been their spot in line. They said that they should get their spot in line even though they didnt leave anyone and noone had even seen them let alone saved their spots. We finally left them alone until security came out at like 4 am and then the WHOLE line started complaining. These ladies claimed that since our line system was different then theirs that they should get their way. The security guards pulled the 2 ladies aside and then they walked away but not before going down the line and claiming they had gotten their labtop. (The security guy says they didnt get one) but who knows? In the end we got everything we wanted so I cant complain but I really dont understand rude people or trying to cut. You get there early you get the worm.
