Went to WM @ 1AM...way too early should have been there at 4AM. Picked up a PS3 with some movies and everything was good in the mass hysteria until after getting out of the store (by 5 after 5am) and looking over the receipt found they charged me 3x for the same BD movie. So went back in and it took another 35minutes to get the price corrected. Overall lines weren't too bad, worst problem people were running into because WM was finally doing price matching there were a lot of problems with cashiers messing up the transactions and in the older WM there was no place for customers to see the list of items being purchased as they rung up before getting the receipt.
Outside of WM ordered some stuff from Amazon, Radio Shack, and Best Buy on turkey day.....very smooth and considering the big ticket item was available on WM online later in the morning this is the last year I go to the stores. From now all everything online and I'll pass on the lines.

From the ads so far at least with the tech. related items, the normal online deals are better. Ok, ya you might find a cheaper laptop but I can find a year old+ laptop on ebay for that price if not less.

Anyone hear anything about American TV's BF sales?
-
Friday - HD-DVD player was more expensive
Saturday HD-DVD player was $99
How did this happen? The same way they could have for years but never did, stockpile an item and then mark it as clearance which is a loophole for the state's law about selling items without a minimum markup.

Same here, Milwaukee one closed. Between that and the rebates I've still never received on some hard drives I've stopped shopping there.
-
Lol, I didn't even think of ordering online. I'll check it out now.
The 12-days ads are IN STORE ONLY. I don't think they work for the order online to pickup in store.

Prices which weren't constant from state-to-state killed WM in Wisconsin......took a look at a couple around here shortly before 5am and the parking lots were 1/2 full if that compared to BB/CC which had lines around the building by 2am.

Mayfair - use to be good because it was small, no-one went but I'd expect a zoo with the new store
Brookfield - just nutz
Delafield - just as bad
-
Random question, could you use the $30 MIR on the laptop?
While originally listed on newegg there is no limitation about Staples...just officemax/radio shack.

Originally had one but with all the stuff going on probably not till early thursday afternoon.

The DVD player is a reciever as well. You will only get HD sound from the DVD's and not external inputs like the TV. The HDMI just carries a optical line for digital sound and video for picture. It doesn't need to be inputted in to a DVD player, an optical input would be all you need to get HD sound from your TV. I don't believe this system has an optical input, therefore you will only get stereo sound from your TV and HD sound from DVD's.
Checked over the manual again and the HDMI is required if you want to do 720p/1080i upconverting and it does not have an optical input.

Um, the 1000W Panasonic has 1 HDMI out port......the HDMI output is only needed to output to the TV...the system itself supports surround sound. As for an alternative surround input you would be looking at using the optical port.

Last time I check a printer was technically a "computer accessory" which should be excluded. Guess I should see if they'll price match on a pair of monitors.
