  1. One per HOUSEHOLD???? Is that right? So...if I'm buying one for myself and dh is with me with money from my cousin...are they not going to let us get them? are they gonna ask for ID from us prior to giving us tickets??? We're planning on camping..so I need to know.

Just stand in line and act like you are seperate. (okay that doesnt make much sense)

When they hand out the tickets, everyone of you who wants one should just pipe up and say yes. If they ask you if you are in the same household/live together, just lie and say no, I doubt they will care enough to ask to see your ID.

  2. San Antonio, TX residents:

    The BB's ad says:

On the $379 laptop (min of 10 per store!)

On the $149 Desktop (min of 20 per store!)

I believe mine said a minimum of 10 per store, however my store, which is definetly a less busy store, has gotten 16, that were sitting locked up near all the other BF computer package deals.

  3. I was told by Management at my local BB that it will be in 2 boxes (not sure if that is 100%) accurate or not just wanted to share that with you all. :runaway:

This is accurate, they had them sitting out all stacked up at my local BB yesterday when i went by.

  4. What?!?

A couple hours doesn't make that much of a difference to me, but can this be true?

I think it depends on where you are.

I went to our only CompUSA here in Raleigh (North Carolina) at about 2:30 last year, and wound up 11th or so in line.

  5. I went to BB today and spoke to a rep about the $149 computer. He said that normally on mail in rebates, the limit would be one per household. But with it being instant savings with no rebate, there would not be a limit per household. Now if that is only true BF morning. He also said that my store would start handing out tickets at around 3 am. My store had 45 of these units.

I caught a guy at work who had just come back from BF training at BB, he works in computers. :D

He told me that they would be limiting each person to either one voucher for a desktop or one voucher for a laptop, not both though. :(

  6. They do ask for your phone number, but I doubt it would flag the system if buying more than 1 per household. The reason they ask for the phone number is to gather customer data...demographics. BB wants to custom taylor their stores based on the type of shoppers they have.

So if I sign up for the Rewards Zone program, can i buy my laptop, and turn around and hand the card to my friend when he buys his laptop?

  7. Thank you, John.

Hey no problem. (Myself and my friend will be going to our local BB at 10PM the night before, and I will make sure he buys a laptop and desktop for me, and I will also be buying a laptop and desktop.) The 1 laptop I will carry with me, a desktop I will use at my house, and I will give a new desktop to my mom and sister, and the other laptop to my dad.

4 big ticket items, and no rebates to pay. that, is nice.

  8. I have a question for those of you that have seen the ad. Does CC have a deal sweeter than BB on emachines or computers? We have an internet/cable/telephone package, so I do not need to sign up for an internet service. Thanks.

If you dont need to sign up for an internet service, then I dont think that 150 for the desktop at BB without any rebates (or signign up service rebates) can be beat.

  9. So how much does a year (I presume it's a year???) of AOL cost?

I think someone said around 258$? It should be 23.99x12 (I think thats their current going rate.)

EDIT: Looks to be more like 287 dollars for a year subscription.

  10. I must say although the laptop for 200 and the desktop for free is a good deal, it is still after the AOL agreement rebate, which I am sure most of us dont need.

I think I will be sticking to BB.

EDIT: Of course if the ad is real, might be just like the original rumored CompUSA ad we had, that had alot of good deals, then the real ad came out (and disappointed me atleast).

  11. If you want to get the desktop, I would suggest getting there at ATLEAST Midnight. However I have found that some BestBuys are alot busier then other ones, so I would advise driving by there at as early as 10PM or so, and see if there is a line. If there is, get in the line right then and there, and call for reinforcements, lol.
