  1. Wow! All of you have beautiful trees!!

I'd post one of mine, but mine is kinda small. It serves its purpose and I like it, but I live in a one-bedroom apartment and space is at a premium. But next year, I'll have a beautiful big tree in my new place.

  2. "Santa Claus, go straight to the ghetto" - James Brown

"Merry Chrismas Baby" - don't know who sings it, but it sounds like someone is singing it in some old blues joint on Christmas Eve after being kicked out of the house by the wife.

Those two songs irritate the stew out of me whenever I hear them.

  3. I was planning on going to the Fort Benning PX and try to score another gift card this year. Their new PX is slated to open on BF. Not sure I want to risk that....
  4. I've ordered three football jerseys from eBay for Christmas (Throwback Ronnie Lott, Throwback Barry Sanders, and Reggie Bush-USC). I describe a good jersey as new with tags and stitched. Most jerseys sold on eBay are new with tags and stitched as opposed to screen-printed. The seller will say it is stitched in the description and most will have pictures. $80 is a good price to pay for a jersey, depending on who you're getting (Roy Williams, Tony Romo, Terrell Owens, or a classic player, etc.). If you're lucky, you may get one less than that. Of course, be sure you check the seller's reputation. Hope this helps.
  5. It has nothing that makes me want to get up early and stand in line. Cheap DVDs? The good ones will be picked over. What happened to the video game bundles? I went to Best Buy's BF Sale in 2003 and I think that was the best one.

    On a scale of 1 - 10, I give it 4.5.

  6. We were supposed to have a Belk here in Columbus, GA, since Belk bought out the Parisian stores. Now, Belk has changed their mind and will just close the Parisian store by early 2007. I was very disappointed to hear that there was no Belk store coming here.

I usually go to the Belk stores in Macon, Albany and Valdosta, GA. They have some of the best clearance sales (50% plus an additional 40% off red-dot clearance). I went there last year for BF and totally racked up on sales (mostly for me :D ).

Congrats to all of you with new Belk stores! I'm really jealous....

  7. A) Talk to the other people in line.

    B) Take pictures with my cell phone of the line (last year's line at Target was crazy long!).

    C) Call Mom on the cell (she's at another store) and compare lines (she was at Sears last year, and people were pushing trying to get a free gift card).

    D) Look over the ads again and finalize my game plan (hit electronics first, then accessories, etc...)

    E) Enjoy complimentary hot cocoa.

    F) Curse (silently) at the people cutting the line (while glancing at the Sheriff's Deputy, who escorts the cutters to the end of the line).

  8. Name? Towanna (middle name)

Location? Columbus, GA, but may do BF shopping in Valdosta, GA

People going with you? My mom

How long have you been shopping on BF? Since 2003, so this is the fourth BF

What is the one AD that you really want to see? Target

What was that one item you sooo wanted to get, but couldn't get it on BF? Numerous items at Belk (in Valdosta) with extra percentages off, and XBox games at Target

Cheapest thing you ever bought on BF? n/a

Did you ever get anything for free on BF? Free hot chocolate while in line at Target

  9. Christmas Eve varies on the location.

If we are at home, I help Mom put the finishing touches on Christmas Dinner. Mom, Dad, brother and I hang out and relax, and talk about past Christmases.

If we are visiting family, we head over to Grandma's and we celebrate with aunts, uncles and cousins (and Grandma, of course). We pray for our relatives that we lost over the years.

Chrismas Eve is usually laid back. There's usually nothing planned. It's just a chance to rest after shopping for gifts, cooking, etc.

I will unwind by watching the "A Christmas Story" marathon on TBS.

  10. I say go to Seattle, and just go shopping anyway, if the stores are better in Seattle. Who cares what your family thinks? You won't miss out on any deals. They need to understand that BF is important to you, just as you understand it isn't important to them.
