  1. Joann Fabrics has doorbusters tomorrow. They were insane today...the CUTTING line was 2 hours today at mine...THEN you had to wait in line to check out. I put away my flannel and fleece and headed out. I love BF, but that's just a little more than I was willing to do on 1 cup of coffee!

I was so tempted to put my stuff away but my best friend made me stay:D And I am glad she did, I spent $28 on flannel that I stayed in line almost 3 hours for but saved WAY over $100!! J's was the only early, early morning sale I hit. I did go to Gottschaulk's (sp) later and JCP but I wasn't really in need of anything;)

  2. About the same over all. We spend approx. $1000 which I divide up and decide how much to spend on each person.

I usually end up spending about $600 on my 2 girls. Last year was a little different than usual because we bought them a quad to share but also their 'regular' gifts.

  3. My DD just bought herself the 4 GB iPod and I would like to get her the iHome or something similiar for Christmas. Any suggestions? Doesn't necessarily need to be the apple product, just something that works well and possibly is an alarm clock and cd player too. I am not good with searching these things, I get confused. LOL

    TIA!!

Edit to add~ I have been looking through the BF ads and I find several types/brands of these 'docks' that are close to what I am looking for but I don't know a good name from a bad name. I think that is where I need the most help. I want a good deal but I would rather pay a little more and get something that will last. THANKS!!

  4. Thank you for making sure wonderful comments about teacher's aides. I work at an elementary school as a Title 1 reading teacher and some parents think we just look at the kids and don't do much. HAHAHAHA!!! There are 9 of us and we have our own reading groups from K-5th and help in the classrooms.

No we don't expect anything, but to just be acknowledged with a note is sooooo nice!!!

So after hi-jacking..LOL... yes please remember the aides :) I still do it for my girls' teachers and EAs (educational assistants are what we are "titled" as now) and they are in middle school!!

  5. CC....ARG!! I too spent over 2.5 hours in line after shopping for all of 5 mins! We kept being told the computers couldn't handle all the transactions at once and were on the verge of crashing. They also said they had been preparing for weeks for Black Friday...not so sure what they did to prepare but it didn't work.

I won't be shopping at CC again on BF.

  6. What states don't have Target's? As long as there's a Target store in your state, you pay tax.

I live in Oregon and my area there are 2 Targets and we don't pay any tax. Maybe I am not understanding something.

  7. Speed Stacking was also done in my DD's 5th grade P.E. last year. I was told it was for agility and hand/eye co-ordination. The kids had the chance to order sets from the place the school bought them. My DD wanted them and I wouldn't purchase so she used her own money....she now wishes she still had the $18! She used them for about two days and then was done, hasn't touched them since.

Styrofoam cups wouldn't work but possibly the plastic cups would be ok.

  8. I also hit 75% today. I think there was about 10 of us waiting for the doors to open :) The whole back corner of the store was full and looked like nothing had sold prior! UNREAL!!

I am unsure when 90% will hit since the date for 75% has been so back and forth. I would like it to be Jan 2 since I have to go back to work Jan 3 :( LOL
