  1. One thing for anyone considering PS4…..

I found out after I purchased it that most games will require you to purchase subscriptions to Sony network. I played COD BLACK OPS on my ps3 all day without any issues, when I got my PS4 and started playing COD Ghosts it required me to be on the PlayStation network to play on-line… not a huge deal, but definitely wasn’t looking to be spending about $50yr extra to play games.

AND IT IS NOT BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE

  2. As much as I hate to say this…. I think with the way the economy is, most people will be out shopping on Thanksgiving if they can save a $1 or $50. Even the people who will go on chat rooms and swear never to give up family time for a sale…. If there is something I really want at a great price, I will be in line with a turkey leg in my mouth.  Black Friday is not for the wealthy who can always afford full price, but for the regular Joe trying to make Christmas extra special for their loved ones.

  3. I think a lot has changed over the years as well. As much as I love that “feeling” that Black Friday has brought me in the past, I can’t overlook the convenience of shopping on-line and the safety of being home and not freezing my butt off or standing with my hand on an item intended for far less than the crowd surrounding it.

I remember when my wife and I first started black Friday shopping many many years ago…we would wake up at 4am and shop till 7pm ON FRIDAY buying about 95% of the gifts that we needed to buy. Now with all the different timed “events” and time and dates starting earlier it impossible to recreate traditions past.

I refuse to fit Thanksgiving meal around a shopping schedule instead of the vice versa. I would rather they move it Wednesday evening/night and leave Thursday alone.

  4. I’m betting we are going to see some big stores open on Wednesday and the rest on Thursday…. Even the ones that have stated they wouldn’t previous years will be forced to or else loose big bucks.......In about 10 years black Friday will be held around Halloween!

  5. Since the BIG stores seem to move their opening hours early every year (Target, Toys, Kohls ECT…) did you think it will come to a point when EVERYONE opens at midnight?

    I’m guessing about 5-7 years

  6. Home depot as well…. The year they had the gorilla ladder’s on sale (I think 2007) I got hit on my check and ear as someone was trying to squeeze through a tight aisle and didn’t see me I guess. The worse part (other than the pain) was SHE didn’t even say sorry ,she just turned as I held the side of my face and kept on running toward the register. HD has the worst layout of any store IMO. I’m glad that was my last stop because after that all I wanted to do was go home.
  7. I picked up two Sing-a-ma-jigs on Saturday from TRU (kids wants these and I’m not going to kill myself looking for them closer to Christmas). There was none on the shelf so I asked an associate, he found two boxes. Make sure you ask them to check the back; I wonder why they are not putting out hot selling items.
  8. I will hit Toys R Us first at midnight but don’t have to be at Sears till 3am (they open at 4am and I’m sure one hour before opening is enough time) so what should I do, what will you do? I live about 10 minutes from ALL THE STORES so coming home is an option but I think I go nuts waiting around till 2:50am so I could go line up at Sears.
  9. I’m set on the Kenmore HE3T; you should go to store and compare them there (like I did). I also liked the Maytag but the difference is two hundred dollars which can be used on something else. Just remember that you will end up paying about $500 on top of the advertised price once you factor in tax, delivery, haul away, set-up, stack kit, extended warranty and if you need a gas dryer (price are usually for electric dryers).
  10. What’s the one item that you have seen in the black Fridays ads so far that made your jaw drop and say to yourself (not matter what I have to do, I’m getting that)

For me it’s the Kenmore washer/dryer stackable at Sears….I really need new ones and these seem real good to me? :eyepoppin

  11. Snuggies - come one, put your robe on backwards or use a blanket to stay warm in a chilly room while watching TV...but $20 for a fleece blanket with sleeves? Uh-uh. No. Nope. Never! [And for 2009, they are introducing Snuggies for the family dog...!]

I think this is going to be wifes gag gift (she really hates this too)
