I think it's kind of a bummer, but it seems like the rules about returns were laid out pretty strictly and there probably isn't much you can do about it. On the plus side, the laptop was worth to you whatever you paid for it on the 3rd, and it's still worth just that much! Better deals are going to come around all the time.

If you don't mind getting it used, I found that searching through Craigslist.org is a good way to get came consoles. I got my slim PS2 off Craigslist for $130, and it came with a memory card, the Logitech wireless controller, and GTA: San Andreas (this was back when you couldn't get it at stores because of the 'Hot Coffee' controversy) all of it in really good condition. That was a really good deal, which I figured was because he just didn't use it anymore and wanted to sell it quickly. Those kinds of deals are pretty rare, but I searched the site for around a month for the perfect deal before I e-mailed someone.

The problems with the nano that's causing the complaints is that it scratches too easily, but all of the iPods have had the same problem of scratching. It's just a matter of trying to keep it in a case and not putting it down on anything abrasive. My roommate was in the same boat, that he initially wanted an iPod mini instead of a nano. But once he saw the nano, he just had to get it! The thing is SMALL. I recommend going to an Apple Store if you have one nearby to check it out, then going to Best Buy or some other place on Black Friday that's giving something away with iPods, since they can't cut the price on them.

I was wondering about Insignia too, after seeing the 20" TV for $58.99 after rebate, so I searched around and found a review of another one of their TVs on eOpinions. I don't have enough posts yet to post the link, but at eOpinions, just search for Insignia and scroll down to Electronics. One of the TVs (actually, I think the same TV that's being sold on BF) was reviewed. Apparently, Insignia is just a Best Buy brand of TV that's built by other (reputable) companies and slapped with a different logo. I guess it's like the store brand food in supermarkets, where it's the same food, only cheaper. I would think that it'd be okay to get the Insignia without any qualms whether it'd break down, but then, I won't know either until I get the 20" either. :-p
