  1. I like to think of this as hunting season for ME. I stalk the deals, get ready to pounce, and then BAM!!!, I catch the deal........ I also find myself bragging to my friends when I find a GREAT deal.....

That is the best way to describe me too! That just made me laugh so hard. I'm just glad there is no blood involved.

  2. I have two girls, 8 and 6. They want Barbie Cruise Ship, make-up sets, fleece lined crocs, camp rock/ high school musical stuff for their room, gift card for Claire's (earrings), Columbia fleece jackets. All fairly practical choices, much to my amazement!
  3. I got the toy book with $5 off $50 in the mail yesterday. Today we went to Target and the had what looked like the same toy book but almost twice as thick and a lot more coupons. As a matter of fact it had a pull out coupon book in the middle. My daughter found it laying somewhere in the store. Hope it helps someone.
  4. We bought an easy bake for our dd at six years old because I remember how cool mine was at that age. We just buy the Jiffy mixes at the grocery store, let her use what she wants in the easy bake oven and throw the rest in the toaster oven in a bigger pan. It's a win-win situation. I think it makes the girls feel safe and responsible with cooking. Of all the toys you might chose this year, I think it's a great choice!
  5. As a music teacher, I have been listening to it since September. Frankly, I am sick of it and can't wait to hear something else. Ok, I love it the last week of school before the holidays.....the kids even seem a little kinder, gentler, more giving.
  6. :holiday16Less than 90 days until Christmas!:holiday16 Which means anything we buy now for Christmas gifts will be returnable after Christmas! :D

Thanks for doing the math! I had no clue how many days we had left and certainly never gave a thought to the 90 day return period. It's a good thing we have people like you around that keep all of us organized and on track!

  7. I hit both the Watertown Kohls and Fayettville. I was mostly looking for girls 7/8 and found a lot of great deals. There were a lot of t shirts for $1. and other cute shirts for under $5. I also found two pairs of gold ballet flats for $3. Some of my stuff today rang up wrong and the cashier explained that it is because they were putting stickers on this afternoon for the new markdowns tomorrow. So she said she had to let me have them for that price!
  8. If I remember correctly I hit that sale last summer around the second week in August. I think all Land's End sale stuff was an additional 70% the already clearanced price. The stuff we found was amazing! I remember saying to my husband after paying practically nothing for a giant bag of clothes and shoes..."you better go look again, those prices are too good to be true!" And then I made him take me to another Sears to look for more.
  9. I too, have had terrible luck with buy.com and will no longer do business with them. It's a shame because there were times in the past that I spent a bit of money with them, and so did my extended family. The last straw was a refurb. ipod that died after a few short months. I can't remember any shipping problems.
  10. We do three gifts from Santa because there were three wisemen and three from Mom and Dad.

Our daughters, age 5 and 7, get a little bit of everything. I buy each of them something I think they'd like, something they asked for that was reasonable but will probably not be a big hit after the newness wears off, and something practical, like clothing or a family game.

Santa and Grandma come off smelling like roses because they purchase all the cool stuff that mom and dad "can't afford".

  11. My nearly 14 yr old knows but is willing to play along (because I love it) and my 10 yr old is trying hard to still believe. But he started questioning early because of Nintendos and things that Santa's elves couldn't make and overhearing conversations over costs etc. So I got creative and invented the parent payment that parents have to pay Santa to help defray costs of technology things. I also explained my going out on BF as helping Santa's elves to get the best deals on things... I'm going to burn in Hell for my stories but I like Santa and I don't want to give up the traditions. My youngest brother is 7 yrs younger so I got to help play Santa for him once I finally admitted I knew and I took over the stockings for the whole family when I was 16.

When it comes to Santa, there is no HELL! "Everything" is truthful in SantaWorld! :fluffy:

  12. Absolutely no wrapping yet. lol, BUT I am over half way done with shopping for my two kids. Since our remodel, I now have a clean closests. So a lot of my items are in my top shelf of my closet and also in the garage in 4 Rubbermaid containers. (Yes 4).

I've got a rubbermaid tub going in the garage also. I keep sending my husband out there with odds and ends and then questioning him if he remembers what he put in the tub. He always has the same kinda answer, "I don't know, it was something in a Target bag!" I' must find a better sysytem of keeping track of what is out there-I can't remember anything!:D
