  1. the wal-mart where I work price matched anything that is within a 100 something radious had to be the exact same item had to be one price could not be anything that was a percentage off thing. Must be an individual store type thing.

That helps some, but not a whole lot, because Walmart will have some things made special for them. For instance, I bought an RCA 26" TV they had on special and the model was only available from Walmart.

  2. all of them here have always been closed. the ones that are open 7-11 close at 10 the night b4 and reopen at what ever time on BF the 24 hr ones have closed anywhere from 10 to 2 am night b4/turkey day am. and reopen on BF. i'll have to check at mine this year

We have two Walmart Supercenters and they are open 24 hours a day 364 days a year. They close at 6 on Christmas eve and closed Christmas day.

  3. Our walmart had a 26" RCA flat screen for $378 in this weeks ad. I had to call 12... YES TWELEVE Walmarts before I found a store that had 2 left... This was the only thing my mom and dad said they wanted for christmas so I was trying to get it BEFORE BF that way I didn't have to fight anyone for one and I knew for sure I was done with my shopping!!!! Hopefully they have other deals like this for everyone looking for a GOOD BRAND TV and not just the junk ones they sell on BF

Same problem here in Cleveland TN. Each store only received 4 sets. What a ridiculous thing for Walmart to do.

  4. Ok, I stood in line for 3 hours and got some fantastic deals. $80 MIR! $30 MIR! Another MIR for $30. then I went to 3 other stores. All total, I had a grand total of about $400 in rebates. Only ONE rebate was paid on schedule. That was HP for $80. All others required me to make multiple phone calls to find out there was no such PO box or they didn't receive my papers or or or or. I didn't start seeing the money back until the begining of August. Kohl's was kind enough to send me the rebate in the form of a gift card (I was happy to get that after 6 months).

I will never buy anything with a MIR again. Did you know that two states have sued the company in MN for not processing the money properly?

Please share your stories. . . and thanks for listening. I'm hoping that I can help somebody else avoid the hassles that I had.

The only store that is reliable year to year on rebates is Staples. After last year's rebates from Officemax, Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc., I was lucky I got them all. I had to threaten just about everyone through the BBB to get my money back from all of them. Radio Shack has advertised an item had a rebate in their Black Friday ad, then when I filed it, tried to claim it wasn't available for rebate till like a week later even though I had the ad in my hand. If you do use buy anything with a rebate, make SURE you keep the original ad, the receipt, and a copy of the rebate form, barcodes, etc. Send the rebate forms in by a method you can prove that you mailed it or they always claim they never received it also.

  5. Like every year, Funai is going to supply most of the TVs and DVD recorders to Wal-Mart for this upcoming Black Friday this year. I represent Funai products, and this is what Funai made from the factories already. They are now at the Wal-Mart distribution center at Arkansas. Wal-Mart will sell a 1080i 32" LCD TV for around $400 under the SV2000 or Symphonic brand. There will be a 1080P 37" LCD TV (pricing unknown). There will also be a ATSC digital-tuner 20" CRT tube TV for around $50 under the SV2000 brand. Finally, there will be ATSC digital-tuner DVD recorder and DVD recorder/VCR combo under the SV2000 or Symphonic brand between $50 and $100. Funai is well-aware with the FCC-mandated digital TV transition that everyone in the USA must need one ASAP, so Funai has decided to produce the $50 ATSC 20" CRT TV the most than any other products. Each store should get at least 200-300.

I do not have the model numbers in my hand. But at least it gives all the buyers knowing what will Wal-Mart have on Black Friday.

    Cheers.:D

I wouldn't take a Funai if they gave it to me for free. It is junk. I had a VCR go bad a few years ago and tried for weeks to get them to honor their warranty out of California I believe it was and they would never give me the data to ship it in. I ended up throwing it away. Buyer beware. You get what you pay for in this country.
