I saw that and have the site bookmarked... I so want to go there!! The lamps are expensive, and I actually wouldn't mind paying for it so that it would look right... .but none of them are indoor/outdoor... we really want this to be outside where everyone can see it... (we have small weird shaped design windows in the front so it wouldn't look right to put it inside, plus I want the box with "FRAGI-LE" on it!! the shade won't be a problem, but I guess I need to figure out how to get a leg and put some sort of outdoor bulb in it and not melt the plastic... (that's the part that's going to be hardest I think)

LOL!! We're not the craftiest people so hopefully we can pull it off!! I know the people on here could come up with awesome ideas so I'm hoping to get help!!

My family LOVES the movie A Christmas Story.... this year we decided that next year we want to recreate some scenes in the front yard, rather than put out the normal reindeers and trees etc.... I'd like to have an opening the leg lamp scene, the tongue stuck to the pole and Higbees department store window... We're going to start thinking about it through the year and collect materials as we go... The best I could think of is cutting the forms out of plywood and painting them, then putting lights on it so it would show up..... no ideas yet on how to make an outdoor leg lamp that would glow... You guys are creative.. what's the best way to do this?

Yup.... found a magic book for dd#1 that didn't make it.... My husband got it the worst as I had a little bit to drink on Christmas Eve and had not done his stocking.. forgot to put an Outback GC and a Beatles CD in it...

I went today and got a slim 7ft tree for 30 bucks.... needed a new one so I was happy... as a bonus they had the Dept 56 Rudolph stuff (Santa's Castle, Ruldolphs Barn, Hermies Elf Bunk) for 10 bucks each!!

I paid alot for mine at a Samsonite store... but when I was in Walmart yesterday I saw a cute black one with pink trim for about 25 bucks... didn't pick it up to see what the quality was (i.e. if it was total crap) but it might be worth a look

Help!! My mom who has been done with her Christmas shopping for weeks called me this morning and said she "changed up" what she had gotten my daughter for Christmas.... she went to Target this morning to by a Wii for her house for the son in laws and grandkids to play with but they were out so she bought a PS3 and 2 nintendo DS's.. one of which is a pink one she is now going to give to my daughter... Since most of her shopping is done I think she's going to buy one game and a case as well..... I feel like I now need to buy at least one game so she has 2 games to play with it.. anywhere I can get a cheap game? Im po'ed cause if I knew this a couple of days ago I could have gotten games and a case from TRU for the 12 days of Christmas!!! Is there anywhere to get a game or 2 that is not 30 dollars or are they all this price?

Don't know if you've bought the gift cards or where they are too but something I've done with Walmart is for .88 cents you can put your own picture on the card... maybe something funny or several small dollar amount ones with picture clues on them to the next one...

Actually I HATE Polly Pocket and all the little pieces, but it was on the top of her list and for 17 bucks she can play with it for a little bit and then it will mysteriously disappear in a couple of months!!....

A little off topic but when I looked at Deep Discount they also "suggested" something called a Summer Story which was Ralphies' summer adventures? Never heard of it... different cast though so I bet it's not any good

Anyone know the best price on this? I can't seem to find it at our local stores, you'd think they'd be everywhere... my 4yoa has loved this movie sinces she was 2.... she couldn't possibly have understood it then but she'd would watch it over and over, even during the summer... she'd call it "BB GUN". We had 2 of them and she asked me if she could watch BB gun last week and I can't find either of them anywhere... guess we need a new one!!

We bought them an airhockey table one year, it took DH an hour to put it together and when he flipped up the top part at the end there was a crack/hole in the bumper piece... we had to take it back to the store, and needed to get another one that day 'cause it was Christmas Eve and we had a ton of people coming over to play it. We told them that Santa's Reindeer ate a hole in it because we didn't leave any carrots out for him when he dropped it off... needless to say we can't ever go to bed on Christmas eve without leaving carrots out!!
