Actually going to be keeping an eye out for an Apple Watch deal... Wasn't necessarily planning on that but my Fitbit's been nothing but frustrating since Google took them over (sadly). I'm having to charge it sometimes multiple times a day (and I am far from alone). Kind of defeats the purpose of having it... They've also basically killed the scale I'm using, so yeah. Done with Fitbit. A shame, too. I really liked their stuff pre-buyout. Worked great.

Off topic,  but on a similar note, I'm so annoyed with Nest after Google took them over. They took a once easy to use app/system and have turned it into a PITA! 😒

  2. Good God...Maybe I'm not up to speed on LED Christmas light prices, but are they still that expensive?! I bought a bunch of warm white strands of 100 LEDs at Walmart a few years ago after Christmas for 90% off...they were 70 some cents a box. I don't use them...I have tried to like them but nothing will ever satisfy my eye like the incandescent bulbs.

  3. 1. Which store do you think will have the best Black Friday sale(s) this year?

Kohl’s. I feel like their deals are usually right on par with what other stores offer but when you add in the coupons they usually have and the extra Kohl’s cash you earn during their BF sales, they can’t be beat!

    2. Do you anticipate shopping in stores on Black Friday this year? Feel free to explain why or why not.

If I do, it will have to actually be on the morning of BF. I work nights and unfortunately have to work at 6pm Thanksgiving night until 6am. The past few years we have shopped exclusively online – I do somewhat miss the excitement of going out and about!

    3. What one aspect of past Black Fridays would you like to see brought back?

As many others, I really miss the stores not opening until early morning ON FRIDAY. I also miss the JcPenney snow globes. :D

  4. I think it's safe to say yes it is. This will make my 3rd (I think) year not even going out shopping and doing it all online. Heck, I'm sitting at work right now even ordering some gift cards online for gifts...I definitely think sales being extended because of COVID sped the evolution of BF up. I'm not a fan of the "new way"...definitely miss the way it used to be and the memories made. Oh well, I guess everything evolves with time.

  5. This may not be an appropriate place to post this, so feel free to delete/move this if necessary. For once in her life, my mom has given me a specific item she wants for one of her Christmas gifts- Philosophy Pure Grace perfume. Has anyone seen any deals on Philosophy products so far? Looking at last year's ad for Philosophy specifically it looks as though they did 40% off site wide...hoping to find a deal similar to that this year so I can get her some matching body care items to go with it as well. 6. I really do miss the days where GD got the ads and the stores would get mad.  It was exciting to get an email from Brad saying he had a ad and your blood would be pumping as you looked in the ad and wished what you wanted was in there.  I also miss the camping and making friends.  Some dude on here years ago use to do a webcast and I miss that too.

I miss those days as well. I used to view these forums long before I was a registered user. I always used to print off the ads as soon as they were posted in case they got taken down.

  7. Add me to the minority as well. I like shopping the night of Thanksgiving.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm hoping the Thanksgiving night sales come back.  I didn't do any BF shopping this year because I was traveling with my son to a sports tournament - we left Friday morning. I didn't make time to track down any online sales, and I didn't really get into the sales weeks prior to BF.  I felt they were confusing (will item X be offered online or in store only, or both?) and not very good deals in a lot of instances.  I think 2020 was just a bust for me in regards to BF shopping.  Hopefully 2021 is a little more "normal".

I did see where Macys is closing another 45 stores this year.  My mom and I can't believe that the one in our local mall is still open. We have done our best to keep them in business, but they have huge gaps of open space where there is no product whatsoever in the store.  I suspect ours is on the chopping block. This makes me wonder what other big stores aren't going to be around for BF 2021.
