  1. Menards is already a mad house. I get most of us do not mind that as we have been doing the BF thing for enough years we remember the "good ole days"

    BUT

One of my biggest issues with the early opening times in last few years is it attracted people that wouldn't normally go out and that just kind of wandered and looked around. I foresee this mad PUSH to get in door and get ad and then everyone stopping 2 feet inside the store to look thru it. The bottle neck traffic jam that this is gonna create is going to be NUTS.

At least in years past we could make a plan before going in.

  2. Can anyone direct link the box to me? The code doesn't show in my daily offers. Gonna try and work around :(

After searching the code via Google I was able to get. Geese. Wanted to NOT deal with the hassle that is B&BW on black Friday and they still found a way to be a pain

  3. You probably won't get any advance notice on most of these. They'll just randomly pop up on their site one day when the sale starts.

yeah i feel like most of the time I get an email from them leading up to it. Maybe a day or 2 ahead of time

Sad that new khakis for work is my nail biting waiting to see ad item ;)

  4. We were refused as well. Even after showing emails/post/news story re: walmart pricing matching...it went from no we dont price match (show proof) to the ad contained wrong info (had price clearly listed...small artwork says "save 50%" eliminated the ability to price match) then cashier was rude.....ugh

that was just 1 walmart...other we went to but did not PM at was super nice so it is a store by store basis for sure

  5. i just wanted to let anyone know that was worried re: the $159 laptop. We have 2. One for kid for christmas and one I am typing on now.....while taking a break from world of warcraft. Yes I know WoW and Minecraft are not the same but WoW is a HOG for ram/processor especially on a holiday weekend when all the kidlets are home and playing. I have no lag no glitchy nothing. Have also loaded DDs with her Sims games (3 + 6 expansions) and it went along fine with that. a few years ago we had bought the cheapie walmart special for laptops and it wouldnt run any of the above.

Yes it is NOT an Alienware gaming laptop but for 75% of the people out there it is perfectly fine.

  6. Thanksgiving morning:

Meijers got everything easy enough. didnt buy as many shoes as we normally do as sizes were massive picked over

walgreens- all the freebies. nice and simple

Went to walmart for a PM that we were denied. Kinda knew the "we will match anything " was just hype but was hoping to be wrong. add to it uber rude cashier re: it and wasnt a good start

thanksgiving night: went to a different walmart and had easily the best experience I have ever had at a walmart or even at any store on bf. We got laptop we wanted easy enough. Our line guardian was awesome and so friendly. I was hunting for the 8.88 sharpies and he went crazy above and beyond trying to locate. to the point they actually found out they were never sent any which was a surprise to all involved. We were handed wristband at 6pm for the 8pm event...we honestly were in truck setting alarm for a nap at 6:13. The lines were SO organized. It was AMAZING. Napped/read till 7:45 walked back in store to get laptop and had 2 managers waiting at the balloon for us to see what they could do re: sharpies (offered to locate at another store) told them it was really not a big deal and we would be going near other walmarts anyways when we headed to "mall town" so wasnt concerned but was totally blown away that they were that on the ball to try and help when it was just a shipping issue. Even with taking time to reassure Line Guardian and both managers it was really not a big deal we were back in truck at 8:17. I am actually working on a note to corporate as I have been on the bad side of a BF experience before. I know there were many stores that did it wrong so I want to be sure to praise the one that did it amazing right. The store manager even was making laps around with treats (candy) for her line guardians. Obviously they are a store that is well gelled together and it 100% shows in how well this went.

Mall: many little stops . Only store (and this includes old navy which i typically avoid like the plague on BF) that I said "forget this" due to insane amounts of people and 2 registers was Bath and Body works....the line stuck OUT OF THE STORE. And 2 registers...oy no way no thanks would rather just stink....:P

  7. They did the few at a time for  movies as well at my WM also had like 4 other areas roped off with random items you had to wait in line to get into area...i would say 5 people at a time too....Nearly lost my gourd with this system! What a disaster!  No way to know if the item you want in roped off area is all gone so you have to stand weaving through aisles till you get into area...horrid idea. I get they are trying to prevent people getting smushed but this was not an ok solution

  8. I know here there were a TON of young kids - teens and I don't think they have a lot of money to be spending.  Our mall was packed with them.. not saying it in a bad way just many looked like they were just hanging out not buying. In years past I hardly seen any out and about buying.

    ^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^ times a million!

Grr Roving bands of Teenagers in my way at the mall. I have a timeline to stick to, people and being stuck unable to pass by abercrombie cause everyone one of your 13 yr old friends wants to take an instagram picture with the cromstitutes standing outside the store is killing my time line...

  9. We have one similar to this

    http://ab.pkimgs.com/pkimgs/ab/images/dp/wcm/201334/0007/img4o.jpg

My dad gave it to my daughter her 1st Christmas. This sucker costs me a fortune to fill and is a pain in the butt to find little trinkets that fit in each pocket. We cant do candy in them which would make it slightly cheaper to fill. As much as I would like to skip it at 12 its one of the only thing she hasnt decided she is to cool/old for LOL

  10. I agree that Friday seems forgotten about. I dont mind the earlier times. What I hated was I needed 1 thing at 6pm 1 at 8pm mall at midnight 1 item at 4am and 1 item at 6am....none were long enough to take a nap as we were 2 hrs away at a larger town I dont care if they open earlier i just wish everyone would be on same time or closer. Had so much down time between each sale it made the night drag.

I HATED the Walmart corral system. Total waste of time. I am sure they will claim it was safer but from the amount of empty wrappers/boxes i saw hidden among the shelves for whatever that aisle had in the way of food they were robed blind. Smashing that many people into aisle for hours led to insane theft I would guess. I laughed (and shouldn't have) at the open/empty container of dibs in freezer aisle and the half (eww) ate carton of ice cream complete with obvious gouge marks from using fingers as spoons. Will be avoiding ice cream at walmart for a few months till I feel the stock is all rotated out....

  11. Visited 2 walmarts. the main one we went to had everyone stand in a HUGE line (easily 7-8 aisles snaked back) and would let 5-8 people into a roped off area with that had tablets tvs printers headphones as well as lots of little items (sd cards screen protectors etc) They also did this for ALL movies/Blu Rays and the video games/controllers

The 2nd one we just stopped by real quick to grab something and while talking with workers they mentioned they just did a line for each item.

Would have preferred a line for each item. Had to pick up a tv for my dad and we stood for 2 hours + with everyone that wanted the instock guarantee items to get a fairly unpopular size of tv. Wouldnt be shocked if we were the only ones that wanted it LOL...

I understand the thought process behind only letting a few into are at a time but honestly wasnt a fan of this set up. Wasted a HUGE amount of time and as we were snaked in the aisles had no way to know if they had ran out of an item before being one of the 5-8 let in to roped area

Was this a per store manager decision as to how to do?

  12. This was my first time doing walgreens. I didnt know there was a 20 transaction limit. I was on my last order so not a huge deal but I have $13 left in reward catalinas. Are they trash?? Does my "limit" reset? Kinda shocked as there were 2 women that had many more items then I did and they still were going but maybe they had it divided into 20?? The one had 2 carts full so would be surprised that they stayed under the 20. Is it something that is from cashier to cashier? Thanks for any info!

  13. So for what i listed needing it for which one do you suggest?

A google search will answer your question. You will get no updates on either of the tablets. From my research, it may be a deal the day you buy it, but will it still be a deal in two months when it becomes a paperweight ? There is an article saying the walmart tablet is in the top 5 to avoid, and the kmart tablet ..... is a kmart tablet.

Thanks! I did google search and one article says avoid and one says "This would be a great tablet for a child or someone needing a cheap tablet for school."  so trying to know which to trust is mind blowing  :eyepoppin

For the uses i listed which would you suggest?
