  1. Put the tree up and decorated it Sunday afternoon.  I had big plans to get everything done, all rooms and decor up.  I looked around at all of the totes, bins and bags - poured a drink and called it a night.  Got home last night and couldn't take the mess.  Put most of it up and organized what was left.  Will finish this weekend.

  2. Didn't need any big ticket items so I woke up at my regular 6 am and got everything I needed.  8.99 throws, 9.99 pjs to go with them, a few casual accessories for the cousins.  I may go back online now that I'm at the office and see what I can find for me.  Used NOVSAV15  for 15% off, free shipping, and half of my list done. #winning

  3. My mom usually buys a coffepot or two at WM and we always get a new box of Rubbermaid containets. It's amazing how those things run away, I got 2 sets last year and they've all disappeared. Need a new coffepot and maybe a crockpot. I usually get a small appliance or two for wedding gifts! Best time to get them.

This is a great idea.  This is the first year I don't need any small appliances but I will be adding a few to my list for future gifts.

  4. I see lots of things that can work for my list.  Last year I got to the store about 5am Friday and it seemed like a sweet spot.  The store was quiet, clean and I got just about everything on my list.  No way I'm going anywhere at 3pm on Thanksgiving day!

  5. Back in the good old days my mother and I kept a notebook with lists, prices, add cut outs, etc.  Now I keep a spreadsheet of everything-gift lists, stores, grocery lists, menus, cleaning schedule, to dos, etc.  I use Google sheets so I can access the spreadsheet anywhere-mainly on my phone while I'm out and about.

  6. No big ticket items for me this year so I enjoyed my Thanksgiving and went out about 4 am. The stores were empty when I arrived and I timed most of my arrivals within 10 minutes of re-opening.

JCPenny - lots of clothing items for my brother (he doesn't shop for himself), a few things for my godson and teenage cousin

Old Navy - more stuff for the bro

Ulta - 2 Lorac lace eye shadow palettes, OPI mini's, 2 two-faced Christmas miracle, a few Ulta gift sets and various stocking stuffers

AC Moore - a bunch of the 3/$10 children's gifts for a few toy drives next month, melting chocolate wafers and a few decorating odds and ends

Earlier this week I hit Kohl's and Macy's online and all of my items have shipped.

  7. I keep everything saved electronically as well. I have my Christmas lists back to 2003.  I love being able to look back and see what I got the kids (and what I spent) as they got older and older.  I used to email it back and forth from my home computer to my work computer, so if something happened to one I always had it backed up on another.  Now, I keep it in Dropbox so it's on their server and I can access it anywhere.

This is what I do now and it never fails that I forget to email the latest version.  Didn't think of Dropbox - thanks for the tip.
