  1. Hi, I was not sure where to post this but BB has a little more than the online tracker shows today.   I picked up theSamsung - 55" Class (54.6" Diag.) - LED - 1080p - Smart - HDTV - Black, today online for $449.99.   Going to pick up in store this afternoon.   I've been hunting a decent 55 under $500 for later this week but BB and Walmart both have similar models today for the same price.  Walmart's is only 60 Hz and did not have local pick - where BB has 120 Hz and I can pickup today.

Again, I was not sure where to post this but thought folks would like to know about the deal today.  Sorry if I've put in the wrong place

  2. So I was not really in the must have mode for a new TV but I'm looking at my old 42" DLP and seeing $400 50" I'm now thinking why the hell not.  I do usually prefer Samsung and my target size is 50" for the room it's going it.  I've seen the Samsung 50KU6300 in several ads, but have looked close enough to see who has it only as doorbuster and who has it online.

Then I see BB has the LG 50" model 50UH55 in a pre-black Friday sale right now.   The look comparable but I've had good luck with Samsung.

I've read these posts and know 4K is not all it's cracked up to be - and I'm ok with that.

I'm sitting here wondering if I take the bird in hand LG or roll the dice on the Samsung during an online sale Thanksgiving night.

    Thoughts\advice?

  3. Does anyone know if I can put an item in my cart before a lightening deal starts and use the 1 click buy right at the start of the deal?

I tried to get something this weekend and got in from my phone about 30 seconds after the sale started and the item was fully claimed

  4. TubeMonkey - thanks for the pointers - she's arleady saying she doesn't think she'll be doing much creation - more browsing.   That was part of the reason for the tablet over the 2 in 1.   I was a little surprised as she does some work on her mini laptop.  I plan on going with her to do some hands on.   Won't be any surprise since she's laying out what she wants anyway.   The early deals at Walmart just today have a couple of models on sale - no idea if that's a good price yet.

On another thing you posted - how did you convert BB cards to Amazon?

  5. Hack - that thing at Fry's doesn't have the RAM to handle gaming.

Amberj365 - Keep an eye on Staples.  I ended up buying two laptops from there over different years because they had a decent brand, specs I wanted and have these discount coupons in the Sunday adds.

If you want gaming you'll probably need to make a list of what is important to you - ask friends what they run on, how much memory they have, etc.  As mentioned earlier, the dedicated video is a big deal for gaming.

  6. Wife dropped a hint about a new tablet this year to replace her old mini laptop. She's used to Apple products so I'm considering an iPad.   Couple of questions - Does anyone know off hand a "good-great" price range for each type and what's the deal with the "Retina" display?  Is it really that much better?

I'm also thinking about a 2-1 laptop but I've been drawn to the Surface 3 and that's in a higher range than I'm looking for.

  7. I got the $99 Xbox, had it in the Cart several times and it kept leaving the shipping choice off.   I went back to the sales add and refreshing.  I corrected something in my account (should have had that ready) so checkout was much quicker.   They must be staggering availability.

  8. Any word on if the 2ds will be $99 on the website as well as in stores on Thursday? Thank God the little tykes $50 kitchen will be online. Already have the page up and ready to go lol..my question is are the deals going to be 6pm eastern or will it be up @ 6pm my time once the time comes (on the west coast) I don't remember what it was like last year.

How do you know Little Tykes will be online?

  9. Got and email overnight that Best Buy is offering $50 off the iPhone 5. I have not seen any price discounts on those (other than the refurb deal on BF) this season. I hope this link works.

Of course I missed the BF refurb deal and I just bought two iPhone 5's from ATT for full boat late last week.

It's been that kind of year for me. I think this is pretty hot, hopefully it helps some of you. :)

  10. I'm pretty sure it's for either. I'd recommend you log onto your account. You should see the banner telling you about the sale. If your not getting emails from them, turn it on. It says you have to log on to your account Nov 21 to see the items that will be available to you.

I'm doubting it's going to be their entire ad but you never know.

  11. I was mulling around at lunch today and I came across a posting that Target would be offering BF deals to their Credit or Debit cardholders on Weds, Nov 21st. Also the Target standard of 5% off (on top of deal) and free shipping apply.

I have a Target redcard so I logged on to my account and confirmed the offer.

Link to a screen shot of the deal.

Note - this is not my screen shot, pulled from other posting, but I have gone out to it.

Of course you won't know what specific items they will offer up, but if you've got a Target card it's worth a look. And if you don't it might be worth getting one (pay it in full of course)

  12. My In-Laws are buying my DD17 a laptop for Christmas\B-day and I got to do the shopping. Since back to school seems to be a good time to get a laptop (I bought one last year and never saw a better price during BF season with same specs) I recently pulled the trigger on a Lenovo.

Lenovo is formerly IBM. Got the pc for $595 AFTER tax plus I'm getting a 100 rebate. PC normally $750. So for $495 total got a pc with these specs:

    8 GM ram

    Intel 3rd gen i5 CPU

    750 GB HD

    15.6 screen, web cam, etc

I had some trepidation with buying so far ahead of the season but after my good experience last year I'm thinking I won't see a screaming deal that beats what I got (yes, you'll see cheaper laptops but for comparable specs I'm hoping not).

Two years in a row I've gone with Staples - easy rebates and solid sales. Good luck to all you laptop\tablet hunters this year.

  13. Noehlp - So I got the mailer. I was chuckling walking in from the mailbox. I open it and find out mine was only for 15% off. I also noticed it's non transferrable so it must be tied to the CC account number. Man I was dissapointed. I can get the same deal now at Bed Bath and Beyond with their 20% off. I may just go there out of spite. I just used one of these 30% with CC deals in October, they must have tracked it and changed my offer.
  14. Noehlp - yes I meant that 30% off. My $10 off is good through Christmas eve I think, maybe the entire month. At first I was going to pull the trigger today because quite a few 20% codes expire today, but now I'm thinking even if they don't do the 30% they will be doing another 20% soon. I'm going to roll the dice and wait for the 13th.

I hope your source is right, that jump from 20% to 30% would help a lot on an item I've been watching. And the extra 10 bucks coupon I've got would be icing in the cake.

So yes - your information is very helpful, thanks.
