Our DS5 got a Leapfrog Leapster Explorer for his 3rd birthday, he still enjoys playing the games, he has about 7 different ones and wants more. I believe even with the tablet he is getting for Christmas he will still play with explorer if for no other reason than to have a variety so he doesn't get bored.

I purchased the VisualLand Prestige 7L from Walmart.com in red for our DS5 for a Santa present. Comes with Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja already, also has Kindle app and more, (don't have it with me). I've had it out already downloaded a couple more games. Can also use SD cards with it, if we need more memory. When i checked reviews most people really liked it, some had both the Kindle Fire and this one and preferred this one. It sells for $99.99. I recently ordered a purple for myself, should have it next week. I will be able to check it out more instead of after he goes to sleep!!
