  1. Check to make sure you do not have the pay pass symbol on your card. This is a radio frequency that can be "read" or stolen even in your purse or wallet. I worked a military event in Puerto Rico on a military base and everyone but me had their purses in the same office. All of the cards with the pass symbol were hijacked even though they were in a secure location and were used before we even left the island.

    WOW~thanks for this tip!

  2. Home Depot! I know, it sounds silly. One year they has some powertool my husband wanted. We figured it was not a big BF draw for crowds, so we got there around 4:30 for 5 a.m (had already done Toys R Us). We were 6th in line, no biggie. Then they shut off the lights in the parking lot! Pitch black. It's set back from the main road and all by itself. 5 comes, 5:30, 6. People were pulling in and leaving thier headlights on to see. Finally at 6:45 they opened the doors (the lights never came back on, probably on a timer that was wrong). Stuff was piled all over the front part of the store from the ad, no rhyme or reason to the order. None of the employees knew where anything was. Then this other guy goes to take a shopvac down from and the whole pile falls. Not one employee came over to check on the guy or clean up the mess. We had to climb over the shop vac pile to get out. Never again!
  3. As a teacher in an innercity school, I must say a simple note of thanks is the most special gift. Last year, my first period class pitched in together and got me roses. I make all my own copies and buy all my own supplies, so Walmart, Target, or Staples gift cards are wonderful. Even $5 means I can buy more pens. Dunkin Donuts/Starbucks cards are nice too.
