  1. Has anyone had experience with a store closing? Ours seem to be consolidating down fairly quickly and lots of items are on clearance (lots of bare shelves too, like they are slowly moving things towards the front of the store) Are there items that they move to other stores, or do they clearance everything? And, how big of a clearance percentage do they go to? (Should I hold out, or maybe not so much?) There are several other stores in our area, they are just all farther away (and I dont like them or shop at them nearly as much, they arent even set up the same. This will leave only a WalMart close, and it is a super dirty gross ghetto walmart!)

one of our store closed couple of years back.. they opened a new bigger one nearby .....they did not clearance everything....but towards the end they were giving extra 50%-70% on already reduced merchandise. i remember picking up good deals in shoes at the time. They usually have a fixed date when the store would be closed. look for signs near the entrance.

  2. The Kindle was in fact opened. I explained this to the customer service representative and was told that it was not an issue as long as I had the original box and receipt. I knew the name and description of the service rep....but was told by the store manager that I had been given incorrect information about the return policy. I had gone through the process of asking about the return because I knew that Target was really strict on electronic item returns. Maybe I need to start calling corporate and having a conference call with the local customer service when I ask my questions. :cheesy:

i think they gave you the store credit because their customer service gave you incorrect info...otherwise they just refuse... i know how you feel but i am glad you got the store credit .. i am saying this based on my experience...

  3. I have to vent a little bit. I purchased a $79.98 Kindle for my daughter a few days ago....and when we got it home she said she wished that she had chosen a Kindle Touch. We were in Target a few days later....and lo and behold we found a Kindle Touch in the glass case that had been repackaged and was clearanced for $69.98 (instead of the regular price of $99.98). I asked the electronics guy if I would be allowed to return the first Kindle (we didn't want two Kindles) and he said sure, but you might check with customer service. I did. I was told that as long as I still had the box and my receipt that it would be fine. So I went ahead bought the second Kindle at the service desk. I took the first Kindle back today....and guess what Target said? You guessed it.....can't return it! I argued and argued and they finally agreed to give me in-store credit. I am so frustrated with Target's return policies (and the fact that their own customer service people don't understand the policies). I'm sure I will use the credit up over time.....but it is the principal of the matter. I probably should contact corporate.

On a side note.....does anyone know when sporting good clearance will be marked down again?

did they give u any specific reason... electronics are tricky... they do not return if they think it has been opened i.e the original seal looks tempered with...also return date is 45 days i think...

once I bought a WII excersie set...i think it had a DVD and some other things in the pack.. as i picked it on clearance, the side tape was a little crumpled...the DVD was still packed .. but they refused to return as it looked that the original packaging looked like it was opened... even though everything inside was completly packed...

  4. Same with my stores. Last year, wrapping paper seemed to be the only thing left at 90% and there was TONS of it. This year, barely any of it left at even 70% off. Maybe they learned from last year. I didn't get a single roll in any clearance this year. Thankfully, I got 10 rolls last year and for family, we do recycle wrapping paper if the paper isn't too damaged. This year, there were tons of bows and knee high socks - I bet I won't be see any of that next year.

I totally agree ... we had tons of ornaments last yr... thsi yr there were none... even at 50%...

    now for the deals...

apart from what has been reported ... i found

Rice crispy treats , 8 ct box, ( found only 2) for .22 cents ... they were in the regular isle.

pj's .. just one yr from carters .. found 3T, 5T (2 sets in each) for $1.49 .. found them with the regular ones....

Megablocks ..Halo...lil silver bag ( has 2 halo figs ,2 weapons,2 blocks and collector sheet) .49 cents

also keebler cookies i think they were around 30 cents .. green box

    cheers!

  5. Well you are the nicer person :) , and just so you know, as nice as the clear ones are, I've had them crack on me....after only 1 year..but not the colored ones, don't know why...I forgot to check for them...got distracted, maybe I'll run back tomorrow *sigh*

thx for the info on the totes..:) ..i think the thing wh was bugging me more than the snatching was she switched the lids ( orange to purple ones from the regular section).. i am not too fond of switchroo's

our target was 50% for both candy and stuff till yesterday... any ideas when it shd go to 90 (if it does)...

    also purple dot was 50%

  6. Found Halloween storage boxes at 70% ( orange 20 gl) $2.98

there was another lady who litrally snatched the clear ones from my hand saying she is gonna buy all of those...wanted to argue but i don't do that in front of my kids...:( .... me and 3 others decided to divide the orange ones between us :))

also found Mega Bloks Ultimate Action Dragon Destroyer at 75% $9.98 (DS is gonna love this)

  7. As a company they do not. However, there have been cases where they have limited returns for people. There was a famous (infamous) piece on 48 hours or one of those night time "news" programs several years ago where they stopped a woman doing any more returns at all. We have a local store (just one) that has a limit of $250 in returns per day. Individual store managers have a lot of leeway in that regard. I am just very suspicious of the new wording, and would not be the least bit surprised if they do start putting limits. If they start tracking all returns by asking for an ID, I'd almost guarantee that they intend to do it. So far they have not started regularly asking for ID. I also do a lot of returns because I buy a lot. You may simply want to do what I do, and spread your returns out over multiple stores and don't do them in bulk. It is easier to leave them to pile up a bit and do them all at once, but probably better to keep up with them and make the effort to go to different stores for it. I imagine you have several stores near you since you are in NoCal.

    thx .. this definatly helps..:)

not much to report on clearance .. found Men's Shorts at 75% ( Champion, Merona )

  8. I think that is likely. The new signs JUST went up. Could be they started the new policy 10/1. I think they are trying to reduce returns in general, so they can use the policy to cut people off if they are returning more than they want and just point to the policy. They probably are trying to just be more clear on electronics. The ID thing may mean they plan to start tracking people's returns, too. That has happened with other stores. They monitor overall returns and cut people off if they return more than they like.

does target has any policy regarding number of returns????... i tend to buy a lot so my number of returns is also more...shd i be more careful before i buy??? that definately changes how I shop at target...:((

  9. Most items must be returned within 90 days and must be in new and unused condition and contain all original packaging and accessories. Some items have a modified return policy noted on the receipt and in the "Item details, shipping" tab for your item. The following items must be returned within 45 days: Computer Hardware (Netbooks, eReaders, Tablets), Cameras and Camcorders. Music, movies, video games, software and collectibles cannot be returned if opened. GiftCards, prepaid cell phones, prepaid cards (including music, game and phone cards), or other items that carry financial value cannot be returned. This applies to both store and mail-in returns. Photo ID may be required for in-store returns. All bundled items must be returned with all components for a refund. Some items cannot be returned if opened. See the full Returns & Refunds Policy as some additional restrictions may apply.
