  1. Last weekend my fiance broke her favorite sandals - black slides that she found on the clearance rack at Sears 6 years ago and have worn every day of summer ever since. I want to find her a replacement, but am having some difficulties.

They are black women's slide sandals by the brand "MAINFRAME". I actually found the exact same ones on eBay here

Unfortunately, they are size 11, and I need size 9 or 10. I asked the ebay seller where they got them from and it sounds like he/she just finds random shoes (probably on clearance as well) and sells them. It doesn't sound like they have a steady source of the same product.

So can anyone help? Either by actually seeing the pair I'm looking for somewhere online that I'm missing, or are there any resources (stores, message boards, etc.) that I might not know of? I've tried overstock, Amazon, eBay, froogle, etc., and don't turn up anything. I can't even find any mention of this MAINFRAME brand anywhere, other than they have a number of shoes on eBay people are selling. But no main website that I can find.

    Thanks for any help!

  2. Thanks for the tip! Yeah, I've been doing some more reading on the Dyson ones....it sounds like they have an "Animal" series or something that's pretty good? They also mention that their bagless system is better or something with a trigger of some sorts that minimizes dust flying around when you empty it. Heh, it sounds like a lot of marketing hype to me, though, too. I get those %20 off Bed Bath and Beyond coupons, so maybe I'll look into something there. I wonder if they have a 30 day trial or something?
  3. I'm looking for a new upright vacuum....anyone know of a good place online for reviews, or have any suggestions? We need something that's especially good with a dog that sheds too much :-) I was looking at epinions and one of the Dysons came up tops (but it's pricey? Does a good vacuum cost $300?), but thought maybe there were some other resources on the Net somewhere. Thanks in advance!
  4. I've changed cars and no longer have my MP3 CD player...you'd think I'd be happy with a 6 CD changer, but I'm not. ;) I haven't had to burn music cds in such a long time....anyway, I'm thinking I could maybe pick up one of the now discontinued ipods on the cheap along with an FM kit, and then have my car tunes plus I could use it as a jukebox inside.

I was thinking at first about the nano, which looks cool, and I figured that'd be plenty of room. But for the same price as the 4GB model, it looks like I can get the 20GB Ipod photo - which is the recent version before the latest ipod videos, right? Is ~250 the best I can hope to expect, or is there some steal out there for around the 200 mark? Thanks!

edit: does Best Buy have any ipod closeout deals?

  5. He's required to be dressed in chain mail?!? From what I remember at the renaissance fairs, real chain mail was pretty expensive. Can something be approximated, ie, posterboard wrapped in alum. foil or something? Hmmmm, or if you knitted, maybe somoething thats loosely knitted together wiht silver or gray yarn? Good luck!

  7. Basically I'm looking for a laptop for my girl :-D I've got a 600m myself that is great, but I think the 6000 would probably work best for her. I think out of those options above I'd say either the screen or the hard drive is the most important. I've got a desktop that has a DVD burner if we need it, but we're not at the point where we're burning many dvd's anyway. Really, the most important things for a laptop for me is that it has 512MB of RAM and XP Pro on it. I know I can get both of those elsewhere (heck, I've still got my student copy of XP), but I'm lazy and would rather have it come pre-installed and setup rather than mess with it myself :-P. A decent sized hard drive is important, too, but I don't know if she'd notice much difference between 40 and 60 gigs if there was just the basic installation stuff on there. Maybe I'll play with the configurations some more and see what I can get....thanks!

Also, the links in the OP aren't working for me? "Document contains no data" or something? Maybe its just me....

  8. whoa this sounds cool! i might have to check this out soon. Is this permanent, or just a limited time offer? What about the thing above that said its not available until August? Any info on if there are limits to the cashback or not? Tagged for later anyway!

edit: Somewhat of a tangent...How does changing jobs affect credit / credit history / applications? I've been at the same place for the past 4-5 years or so, but recently took a new job and am in the process of going through that. I start there in 2 weeks. Should I wait until I'm at the new place for awhile before doing anything credit related? What about getting a new car? Gah, its late and I should get to bed....

  9. I'm looking to go camping in the coming couple months, and could possibly use a new tent as early as a couple of weeks from now. Its been quite awhile since I've looked at tents; whats a good price, and are there any deals out there for a good sized one? Like one that would hold a handful of adults? Thanks!
  10. I emailed the BYU bookstore:

"The sleeve logo is not authentic from the movie. It says captain retro, the name of the company that reproduced the shirt. Thanks for your interest.

    Hal Anderson

    BYU Bookstore"

I think I might check out those first two, see if I can find anything out about them.
