  1. After my experience last year, I decided to sleep first and then hit Tanger Outlets at 2 instead of midnight since last year it went from slammed to empty by 2. This year, it was still slammed at 2. Got several things at Eddie Bauer with their 30% sale (including a down comforter that retails for 189 that I got for 56 with all the discounts on it.) Then....

    Kohls

In parking lot at 3 with about 20 other cars. Apparently we agreed that with only 20 or so other people we would all sit in our cars instead of forming a line outside. An actual line started to form around 3:30. Got....

    Big One Luggage Set

    Norelco Speed XL 8151 Razor

    Crank Flashlights

    Gold Earrings and pearl neclace.

    Few misc. clothing items.

Price Matched Christmas with the Kranks for $2 from Big Lots ad.

My partner in crime held a place in line after we got the luggage and the jewelry while I picked up the last few items. Line formed incredibly fast, there was no line one minute, I was back maybe 2 minutes later and there was 30 people in line. Glad I had a friend to stake a spot. Out of Kohls by 4:30. Great experience overall. Many people reported not being able to get an ad in the paper. I had to buy 4 in order to find one with the Kohls ad.

    Circuit City

In line by 4:45, several hundred people ahead of me. Didn't enter store until almost 5:30. Digital Camera area was insane as there was no one to open the locked case. We just stood around staring at each other, watching employees blow us off. Then stood in line for almost an HOUR with 4, yes FOUR, people ahead of me at the digital camera register. I got...

    Polaroid LS75S Digital Camera

West Wing Season 1 (they were out of a lot of seasons by the time I got in the store)

    Another couple of DVD's.

    SDHC 4GB memory card

    Old Navy

Store practically empty, waited in line maybe 2 minutes.

    Wal-Mart

Eerily empty. Not sure if they had all registers open, but none of the registers had any lines at all. Staff was completely clueless as to where the doorbusters were. Nothing had sale prices labeled. Picked up 2 dvd's and a cd. In and out in 10 minutes.

Partner in crime hit Best Buy and Target while I was at Circuit City. Reported line wrapped around Best Buy and Target was very disorganized and very crowded, which it wasn't at all last year.

    Home by 8.

Overall a good experience, but remembered why I was so hesitant to go to Circuit City. They are consistently the worst place to go.

    See ya'll next year!

  2. I worked at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Locust Grove for three Black Friday's and NEVER saw it as crowded as it was tonight for the midnight opening. I arrived at 10:30 and was 41st in line for the $10 gift card. By 12:15, there was not a parking spot left in the front of the mall and everyone was either parking on the grass on in the employee parking in the back. They had to lock the doors at Old Navy because it was too crowded! They had 9 registers opened and the wait in line was an hour. Most of the other stores weren't nearly that bad, but still very crowded. Also...I guess the parking lot lights are on a timer because they all went out around one making the parking lot very dark and dangerous for pedestrians. Well...I just stopped back by the hour to report...I'm headed back out. Good luck everyone!
  3. Well, I could be wrong and everything, but that ad wasn't there as of about noon and even though it says "Valid from Nov 22nd...", that appears to be a mistake since, if you look at the top of the first page, it refers to "Today" as the 23rd, meaning TG and the store is closed that day. The last page says prices are good through the 24th, meaning this ad really only applies to Friday. There may be some additional Doorbusters not posted yet, but that seems a little unlikely to me...Why create one entire 16 page ad good for only one day, and then another entirely seperate ad for doorbusters that day that you don't post on your website at the same time? Sorry to dissapoint, but I'm pretty sure this is it folks.
  4. The Goody's ad is now on their website. Just click on current ads and the one for "After Thanksgiving" will be on the list. Decent stuff.

  5. I just want the gift card and a couple of items I'm sure won't go too quick. Any suggestions as to when I should be there to be one of the first 100? Can anyone give firsthand experience accounts of the lines there? Thanks in advance.
  6. So..I was at the Tanger Outlet today and stopped by the mall office to see if/when they would publish which stores are opening at midnight. She gave me a copy of the current (incomplete) list and their doorbuster sales. She said she is still waiting on a final answer from several more stores. Here are the confirmed midnight openings and their doorbuster sales. Again, this is for the Locust Grove Location only.

Written in at the bottom of this list are Kirklands (with the word "possible" next to it), Claires, Osh Kosh, and Rue 21 so I think they are confirmed as well, they just haven't typed up a new list. The manager at Bible Factory said she isn't sure, but that she thinks they will be open at midnight. I can't believe this is a complete list of doorbusters. I imagine the stores already know for sure when they will open, but haven't gotten their sale instructions yet. These are only what they already know. Also...the Book Warehouse is going out of business and every paperback in the store is $2 and every hardcover is $4, starting immediately. Happy sale hunting.
