  1. My day was crazy. Absolutely insane. TRU was NUTS the line was an easy 3 hours long. Walmart was like a maze with all the roped off area's, and it made it even more confusing and congested. Target was OK....but I got stuck in a line with a guy buying like literally 50 of the cheap DVD's amongst other things, and he was making the cashier pric check each item first, THEN when she was all done ringing him up, he decided he should have done it in 2 orders so he could get 2 gift cards so he had her cancel it all and do it all over again. I wanted to strangle him. The best store was Game Stop. There was like only 2 other people in the store, it was so nice! (I went there around 9am) I have been up for 36 hours now. I did get everything I wanted though!
  2. You line up inside for the individual item you want. There are 10 items for the lines and you can get on the map on walmart.com. I'm heading to TRU right now! Maybe I will "see" you there! ;)

Maybe! I have on black pants and a red top! And with a sleepy looking guy! :tongue1:

  3. I am! They aren't closing tonight. Staying open. Lines start at midnight but you can't buy until 5am. I probably won't be there til around 2am because I don't need a big ticket item. ;)

I've never shopped bf at a Walmart that was open and we lined up inside. I've always been out in the cold freezing my butt off. How does isndie line up work, for non big ticket items? Just seems odd. Does everyone roam around?

I'm probably gonna check out TRU at midnight, then head to Walmart.

  4. I just was saying on another thread, I didn't get Taget, Toys R Us OR Kmart ads in my paper. And I bought like 4 different papers AND I even had my sister who lives near Cape Cod grab papers before she headed to my house in Western Mass, and they were not in those papers either, and the city she grabbed them from has both a TRU and a Target IN that city. I am not happy about this at all!
  5. Ya I am NOT happy. I have NO Kmart, TRU or Target. AND I even had my sister who lives in an area that has ALL those stores near Cape Cod grab papers before she came out to my house in Western Mass, and NONE in those flyers either. And we got every paper out there.
  6. ok so heres what i have so far.....

if you want Midnight DOORBUSTERS(the items that have midnight till 1pm above them) Then id say get there in line around 9:30-10. You SHOULD be able to get the 2 day sale items(Marked Fri-SAt above the item on the ad) At that time too! Then if you want the 5 am DOORBUSTERS too then you will have to go back to the store Probably around 330-4 am and it will be open and probably packed! to get the items that say 5am-till 1pm above them. If you only want the 2 day sale items anytime should be fine!

I think this is insane how they are doing it. Why not just open earlier than usual, like 4am, and do all the door busters, all at once? Why these 2 different times? Oh well. I may or may not go, but definately not for 5am doorbusters b/c the store will already be crowded.

  7. After reading some of these posts I have to wonder...where are all of you shopping? Most of the people I visit with at our store are friendly and help one another if we are in line together for a long time. They usually don't ask why you need to leave the line, just ask if you are going to be gone long, if not, go ahead and go. After all, it IS the holiday season, isn't it???

Thats what I was thinking. I once held someone's space so she could make a dunkin's run (though I did have her grab me a coffee!)

  8. I just thought of this. If Wal-Mart is opening at midnight and the lines are going to be inside and we can't buy anything until 5am...I won't be able to smoke! I know I know, dirty nasty habit but I smoke and I can't change that right now. Will others in line be ok with us stepping out of line to go outside for a smoke? Anyone else have this problem? :)

I don't smoke, but if I did, I would try and make friends with those in line around me so I could have them hold my spot while I went for a smoke :)

  9. I plan of starting at the TRU in Portsmouth at midnight then heading to the Epping Wal-Mart. Ya, it's about 30 min. I don't need any of the real hot items at either so I think I will be pretty safe. I'm bringing my 14yo niece with me. She wants a camera but basically going for the experience, her first time. ;)

That might be my plan as well, stopping at that TRU 1st, then heading to Epping. Have fun with your niece! I did that with my niece a few years ago, then took her out for breakfast. She loved it! I'm dragging my hubby along with me :P

  10. It all depends on the ads for me. I used to start at K-B Toys, then head to TRU for opening, then Target, then Walmart. Last year it was TRU, then Walmart, then Target. Not sure what exactly my plan this year is yet, but I'm leaning on Walmart first, then Target.
  11. I showed up 2 hours early a couple of years ago for a Zune deal they had. I was the 10th person in line. My store only had 3 of them. I do not go to TRU for electronics anymore!!

Ya that has been my experience as well. A few years ago they had Mp3 players for like $30 or something if I remember correctly. I too was like the 10th person in line, waited for like 2 hours, and they only had like 5 of them, so needless to say I did not get one. I now avoid TRU electronics on black friday.

  12. It is a good deal and I am betting lots will go after it. I want it as well, but I am going to do the Walmart deal I think with the $50 I-Tunes gift card. TRU never seems to have enough of the "hot" electronics items, and in the 13 years I have been going, I have yet to be able to score any of the hot electronic deals, and I show up 1-2 hours early.
