  1. Thanks for the heads up on the garden/outdoor markdown! Got:

    ### Off! Clip Ons: $2.01

    ### Off! Lantern: $2.48

(Used $1.50/2 coupons on these )

    ### Hose: $2.48

    ### Glass Top Dining Table: $17.xx

That table was a battle. There was a stack of 8 of them a few days ago sitting out at 50% off ($34ish). Went back yesterday and all of the outdoor stuff was still 50% off and they were all gone. Asked someone to check and she said they were in the back, and were still $34. So I went back today, saw that everything else was 75% off, so I asked someone to get one of the tables from the back for me, which he cheerfully did and wheeled it to the front for me. As we got to the front the frontline manager said to the employee who was pushing it, "How much is that table?" and he read the old clearance sticker and told her "$48." She came over as they scanned it and saw that it was $17 and went back and whispered to the other manager standing there and they asked the employee, "Are those on the floor? Where did you get that?" and he said from the back and by then I was done checking out and just smiled and thanked the employee for helping me out. The managers went and whispered to more employees. I'm sure they were just keeping those for themselves. Why else would they all be in the back, and yet all be marked down? There was plenty of room for them with the other garden stuff. I'm just glad I asked the right friendly employee! Anyway, I'm just happy I got mine because our old table shattered in the middle of the night this summer, so we needed a new one and how awesome is it to get something that you actually need at 75% off?!

  2. When, oh when are the pool toys going to get marked down?! I keep checking thinking SURELY this is the week, but no luck.

I feel like nothing is changing at my store, either. Just the same clearance at the same level that it's been for the last 3-4 weeks. I also have my eye on a outdoor dining table that is just 50% off still...those things HAVE to get marked down soon to make way for Halloween, right!?

  3. I know!! All my Target's cashiers get furious when they have to sell you something if it has already been salvaged. I thought my cashier was going to hyperventilate from all her sighing the other day b/c she had to manually add the salvaged yellow dollar spot stuff for 25 cents. From the way they act, you would think they got paid commission or something.

I think they get reviewed on their speed at checkout, so things like manually entering prices and lots and lots of coupons can affect those speed scores. Not that it is an excuse to be rude to people, though.

My cashier (who is one of my favorite) was also annoyed with having to manually enter in the price over and over.

  4. I did get a grill last year on September 15th (I searched my blog for the date...it was a Tuesday). I got a Grill Mate big giant propane grill with 3 burners and a side cooking surface for $49.98 (75%). When I got it, there were 4 grills left and they had been sitting lonely in the middle of all of the school supplies for WEEKS. They were literally the ONLY outdoor items left in that section and clearanced much later than the rest of the outdoor stuff. In fact, I also mentioned in that same blog post that most of the school supplies were 75% off that same day, so that gives you an idea I guess.

I basically stalked them for weeks. Once they went 50% off I checked on them on the day I thought they would get marked down for a couple of weeks and then every single day until they got marked down. And I made friends with the markdown team in that store and they knew when they saw me coming that I was going to ask about those grills. I got one b/c they were scanning the school supplies and I asked him to scan the grill and sure enough it was marked down. By time I got mine loaded up into a cart, two employees had loaded another two into a different cart (presumably for themselves, but who knows). It was a major victory for me to get one, as I was hoping to give it to my husband for an anniversary gift and he was coming back from being deployed that next week. It was nice to have a shiny new grill sitting there waiting for him when he got home! (Of course I had to spend nearly as much on the giant grill COVER as I did on the grill...so if you see those clearanced or cheap anywhere pick one up!)

    Good luck...you CAN get them!

Pool stuff was mostly 30% off at my store, including the pools.

  5. I was in Target today getting groceries and stopped by the toys and I was SHOCKED at how much was still there! A whole aisle was still at least 50% full and things were spread around still in the aisles. I didn't see anything really "hot" but there were still a ton of toys on the shelves. (I admit it...I bought a couple of things that I hadn't seen before...I can't quit this sale!)

So if you haven't made it in yet, it's definitely worth a shot...you may end up finding a lot (not to mention the prospect of returns).

  6. I think the pyrex set was a lucky buy. I looked too, and I looked online at target and other retailers, can't find anything close :(

Ugh...I'm sorry no one else can find them! They had been sitting there on the shelf getting marked down for a month or so and there were two of them at this store, but maybe it was just a fluke thing. I will say that this store sometimes has wacky markdowns...like when they marked down the Disney Princess shoes to 75% about a month before any other store marked them at all. I guess I will count myself lucky!

  7.

Do you have the ASIN number for this? what a great deal!

###070012068 Pyrex 10 piece pots and pans set

That is the only number I have on my receipt. And I may have to officially declare this to be the BEST thing I've ever gotten on clearance at Target (possibly tied with our grill that I got last year at 75% off). These pans are really good quality...heavy and solid and it comes with every pan you may need! I love the clear lids...so you can see what is happening in there without taking the lid off.

I hope someone else finds these...there were two at my store in the morning and when I went back in the afternoon the second set was gone, too.

  8. Got a bunch more today...I'm exhausted!

Before the toys, though, I want to share the MOMMY toys I got...I found a 10-piece set of Pyrex pots and pans for $37.48 (75% off of $149.99)! I was SO excited about that one! Here is the photo:

Now here is the photo of the toys (closeups on my blog):

    ###Playmobil Orca Set: $2.54

    ###Playmobil Pirate Set: 2.87

###Backugan: $1.26 each (got a few of these to use as favors for my son's birthday party)

###Lego Playmat (one of my favorite finds.): $1.98

    ###Hot Wheels Race Set: $3.54ish

    ###Matchbox Aircraft Carrier (AWESOME): $4.98

###Star Wars Light Saber Set: $8.74 (most expensive thing I got!)

    ###Bubble Gun: $1.48

    ###Frisbee/Ball thing: $2.48

    ###Strawberry Shortcake little doll: $1.48

    ###Strawberry Shortcake set: $2.87

###Disney Easy Bake Oven Mixes: $1.48 each

    ###Polly Pocket Sets: $2.48 each

    ###Our Generation Doll Shoe Set : $5.12

I saw a Playmobil Vet set and I really want to go back to get it later this afternoon if by some miracle it is still there. But they only had ONE markdown person working and he refused to scan anything other than what was right in front of him on the shelf. It was on the VERY last aisle and I had already begged him once to scan "one last thing" so I had to leave it there. We'll see if I get lucky!

  9. Here is my photo and list! There are a few things I may go back for that I decided against and a few things I'm hoping to get at the other store tomorrow, but overall I got almost everything that I was stalking.

    http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_WPQ-5o6JIsQ/TFBq1Q45mzI/AAAAAAAABoE/g_pBUqnEtJU/s320/Target+Toy+Clearance+015.JPG

There is only ONE thing in this photo that cost more than $5...can you believe it?!

Here is what I got in case you want to look for these things at your store!

    ###Giant Purple Squishy Ball: $2.48

And the over $5 item was

###princess dress up gown for $7.48!

I was glad that I was there while the markdown team was there b/c there were still things spread out all over the toy section (though they had consolodated a lot of it). Make sure to look in the aisles in addition to the clearance aisle/endcaps!

  10. I only made it to one store (the one at Shawnee Mission Pkwy/Metcalf for any Kansas City people) and they were marking everything while I was there...almost ALL was 75% off. The only thing I had them scan that wasn't was a huge Lego set that was 50% off. I got a TON...will post a photo later. I could have bought twice what I got, but I already have a nice stash from the January clearance, so I only got things that I really knew my kids (and their friends) would LOVE. And also, I must say, the markdown team was AWESOME...they were very friendly and scanned everythign I asked them to cheerfully....they were celebrating the good deals along with me! (And I'm sure DYING to go on their breaks!)

BTW...this store historically marks down their toys on Wednesdays, so it wasn't a surprise that they were marking down. So all of you with Thursday Markdown stores...get there tomorrow for sure!!!

  11. I have found at two different stores in the last two days that there is a LOT of cold/flu medicine clearanced at 75% off. Triaminic, Sudafed, CVS brand...TONS of kids and adults cold medicine. I have been checking expiration dates and most are 2011, so over a year from now.

At one store I saw a Vicks warm mist humidifier for $4.99 (75% off). So check your stores...I'd like to think we'll never use the stuff I bought b/c we won't be sick at all this winter but I know better than that!

  12. My Old Navy has 50% off clearance items right now. Last week it was 30% off. I found tons of superhero t-shirts for $2.50, and there was a TON of women's clerance but I just couldn't make myself dig through it.

(Ward Parkway Mall store for any KC people)

  13. Had an awesome day today thanks to one of my Targets not changing their signage! I went to the first Target and their stuff was 75% off and GONE. I mean...there was like half a shelf on an endcap left. I was bummed. Went to the other one and they had a whole aisle marked at 30% off! I knew better and scanned it and sure enough...75% off! Got the ice cream maker, snow cone stuff, a ride-on pool toy orca, and a bunch of squishy lizards and snakes (look in the toy section for these, too...I found 5/6 of them in with the other squishy animals...look for the blue tag instead of the yellow circle one). There were still 10 of the ice cream makers on the shelf for $6.24!

The shoe clearance is weird...one of my stores has 3 aisles of clearance shoes. The other has NONE other than a few on the endcaps.

  14. I have renewed interest in the seasonal picnic section since I realized that the ice cream makers are included. I picked one up today at 50% off, but I would love to get one for 75% off instead! When will they mark this stuff down? They must have done it on Wednesday this week (or late in the day on Tuesday, since it was 30% off on Tuesday around 10:00). Do they do this section like a holiday section, though?? Will it be 75% off in the next couple of days?
  15. Toys usually hit 75% off the last week of July or first week of August. Last year it was the first week of August, I believe.

I was out of town this weekend and hit a new Target and I have to say that their toy clearance ROCKED...SO much more than my local stores. I couldn't believe how much they had shoved on the endcaps and tons clearanced in the aisles, too! I'm hoping my stores are just slow, but anyone in O'Fallon, MO...you are lucky!!

This store also had very organized dollar spot stuff and a TON left yesterday at 75% off.

  16. I have to say that I am totally underwhelmed by the toy clearance at its current state. I honestly don't see anything that I'm excited about hunting. :( I've been hoping that they would add more and more, but it's not happening yet at my stores. I have seen quite a few things at 50% off already, but the bad news is that the aisle was full of people BUYING today...there may not be much left at 75% off at this rate! My fingers are crossed that there are some hidden or yet-to-be-marked-down items that I'm missing, but right now I don't know that I'll even be rushing to the store on 75% off day.

Oh, and dollar spot was still 50% off today.
