  1. Hey everyone, it's been way too long since I have been on here. Good news though, my bf and I recently bought a brand new town house and are very excited to furnish it with all the Target clearance stuff we have. The entire half of our 40x20 attic is all target clearance! I'll have to take a photo of it and post it as soon as i can!

In other news, I went to my local Target and saw they had started to markdown all summer picnic stuff down to 30%!

  2. Yesterday, I went to a familiar Target. I know them...they know me. (Just writing that should be a red flag! :yup:)

Anyway, I found some toys from the big clearance back in January. Some of it still had the 75% off clearance price stickers on it.

All of it rung up 0.00. The cashier immediately pulled it off to the side and called the front end manager.

She said that they are told and it is highly enforced that they are unable to sell any item that comes up INF or 0.00.

The manager took all the stuff away immediately! I was very surprised! She also said that their loss prevention

is trying to track down customers who purposely hide merchandise. I have never been successful in "misplacing" anything.

What could they do if they see you hiding items?

Honestly, what are they going to do? "Ma'am, you are under arrest for hiding product behind pillows in this target, you have the right to an attorney if you can't afford one, we will find one for you"

Like getting a good deal is such a crime.

  3. Just to clarify, are you including a SASE for the re-tote bag?

Or do they just want you to send the 5 target bags in a large envelope...

They'll send back a coupon for one free Re-Tote Bag. If you send in say, 10 used target bags, they'll send you 2 coupons for the Re-Tote Bag. The Bags are really nice, like kmbrly said, they're made out of regular plastic target bags.

  4. Ahhhh. I hadn't even noticed that until you said something. I went back to look and yes, it does say that in the ad, so guess that stuff will sit another week at 30%.

I remember last year we got 3 chandeliers for 90% off in the global bazaar.. but they were also not clearance stickered. I hope too they don't advertise to the whole country when they go clearance. I just like to walk in when they open and see 90% signs in the home design area. It's like this dream I bet we all have. haha :D

  5. You are insane! :) I have been stalking two Targets for a few weeks now all for Spike! One of the stores is out and the other has a few left, but they are still $65. GRRRR!

Trying to decide if I should get out early and drag the kids to try and get him tomorrow or if it just isn't meant to be. My 3 1/2 year old would LOVE him, but I just can't justify $65.[/QUO

I got spike for $32.48...So I think you should keep on watching him I'm sure he will go to 75% off, if my store did your should to..... eventually, Good Luck!!

i can't find spike anywhere. my little brother would DIE if he saw this... he'd go BONKERS:eyepoppin

  6. Do you have a Publix close to home? I have gotten a bag as the penny item.

nope, never heard of them. lol

i did find out though, that if you send in 5 target bags, they'll send you a coupon voucher for one of their new reusable bags. ($5.99 value) Now all i have to do is start keeping the bags down and out of the attic and stop using them as tissue paper.

  7. No, that only applies to holiday clearance, not regular clearance. AND some states/stores even allow holiday merch to be returned for what you paid regardless of what the current price is.

When you return something with a receipt, there is a little piece of paper that shoots out with the return receipt. Sometimes they attach that small piece of paper to the item to indicate that the item needs a new clearance sticker. Most times that little 'scrap' of paper indicates that the item has gone down in price, however, I have bought things and returned to a different Target where the item's price is actually higher than what I paid. That new price is shown on that little piece of paper that shoots out of the register when you do your return. I believe it says "reticket" at the top or something. It shows the price THAT particular Target is selling it for and we all know each Target clearances things differently.

Regardless of what that piece of paper says, you get what you paid on your receipt...unless it's holiday merchandise. Then each store is different... I guess from state to state or something. That little reticket slip is just to help the CS people make sure that the item gets a new ticket on it. (Many times though they just wad it up and toss the reticket slip."

Oh, here is NJ.. that always give me the price its selling for when i try to return it. Even if i bought it for 10.00 at 30% off, if it's 90% currently.. they'll only give me 1.00. It sucks, i wish i lived in a different state.

  8. Yes, I believe that they see the current sale price on their screen. I can't say what they're thinking though.

If you're trying to return something that's on clearance, they'll only give you the price that its at currently. Here's an example:

You buy a toy that was 30% and found out the next day that they went 50% overnight or something. If you return that toy, they only give you back what the price is at currently, not your price when you paid 30%. It doesn't show percentage off though on the receipt. Most of the time it WILL show you underneath the product on the receipt, " SAVED 18.00 OFF 19.96" So if they put two and two together, they'll figure out how much you spent and what you're trying to do.

  9. I saw Spike on 30% off clearance at my store last night. I also saw the Leap Frog Didj combo (it was Star Wars themed) and the Vtech creative studio thing (it has a camera and desk).

My dd got a Vsmile Cyber Pocket (the pink one) for Christmas and it stopped working on us. I was trying to find another but they were apparently put on clearance. One store in town supposedly had some but I ended up finding it at Toys R Us for about the same price.

I would LOVE to get spike for my little brother. He absolutely goes bonkers over dinosaurs. Let me know if you or anyone else on here sees them go 50% or hopefully 75%.

    Thanks

  10. OK, so i have a bit of an insider with me, my boyfriend is a manager of CVS and i know for A FACT, that they go 90% on Sunday, January 11th, 2009. So get there when they open (this may vary depending on your location) but get there on sunday and get all they're good holiday things. I know it has nothing to do with Target but I figured it would help some of you who didn't get to the Target 90% . Good night all!
  11. Went back tonight looking for the items that "hide in plain sight"! Found:

2 Scotch Tape dispensers that strap to the back of your hand. .19

    1 Command Metal hook 1.19 reg 11.99

2 of the travel sets of Clue and Sorry, for .99 cents reg 9.99

Also some more scotch tape. Seems like you can tell what's seasonal by looking to see if there is a price on the packaging. This was the case on all the 3M products, (Scotch and Command) that I bought.

Toys were messy, not condensed, and still at 30% I'm on the east coast so I'll do my best to report back!

Me and the boo stopped at Target tonight and actually he saw these two penguin mugs in plain sight, so we picked them up-both $0.39 and then in where the guy's ties were, we found one of those "red box" gadgets. It was a projectable time alarm clock for $1.00.

I took notice tonight all you toy momma's that the toys are still 30% off, but we really think they're going 75% tomorrow. SO GET THERE EARLY!!! CHECK THE PUT-BACKS!!!

  12. Is the Toy sale the same as Christmas stuff..you have to get there at the Opening on the day it goes 75% or else you are out of luck?

I don't really NEED anything..stocked up for both kids B-Days on Amazon Christmas sale but I would love to pick up some of those "Cars" for DS2 and maybe some legos or anything else that's educational and/or can be played during outings..

I would imagine with any clearance sale, they put up the signs at the beginning of the day or overnight. Meaning you would have to be there as soon as they open or you're really out of luck. As always, don't forget to look up at the front if you go in the morning, yesterday when we finally finished our 90% seasonal clearance experience, as we were headed up to the checkout, we saw at least 15 carts of "put-backs" LOADED with stuff I didn't even see when Seasonal was 50% so we started throwing stuff in the carts before anybody else got to it. The employees were so nice, they didn't even stop us or say anything, i mean hell, we're the consumers buying up the stuff they're trying to get rid of. :D
