  1. looks like the staples one is the same as the CC one except with a bigger HD. unless you are going to be storing ALOT of songs and movies on there, really not a huge demand to spend the extra cash.. however the dell does give you the 250gb HD as in the staples one, but not sure how the processor compared to the AMD

  2. I have what may be a stupid question. Regarding this HP Pavilion Laptop, it says it comes with a SuperMulti 8X DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support. Now does this drive write DVDs as well as CDs? Can I make an audio mix CD as well as burn DVDs? Thanks

dont knwo which hp you mean but 90% of laptops these days do burn cd's and dvd's so pretty sure whichever one you mean will burn both

  3. What are Fatheads or what did I order? Fatheads are big sticker like things you put on the wall. They have all kinds to choose from.

I ordered 2 Dallas Cowboys, 1 Hannah Montana and a Chicago Bears one.

    Got 3 $10 off and a $5 off. I used 2 on 2 seperate orders making them $23 shipped for 2.

If anyone is still going to order I still have the $5 and $10 off. Email me and I will give you the code.

    [email protected]

did you order ones that were in a certain section? all the giants :tongue1: ones were $150 and i'm a little old for batman.. well kinda lol

  4. I'm being hit w/ Shipping charges, wth? This is supposed to be free shipping & they're nailing me w/ $50 for 2 laptops, $25 each

you sure its not bein subtracted. shipping was put onto my bill then said -$25 right under that

i just got back from the new factory outlets here in jersey, picked up a $300 Kenneth Cole NY messenger bag for my new laptop for $100.. just got back now at 4am, going to staples and radio shak to pick up some other stuff soon

  5. The specs will be set up as it is in the ad. You can customize it yourself for the specified amount on each upgrade on Dell.com.

it should be configured as shown in the ad.

i'll check the ones that weren't working before i go to bed one more time tonight.

    thank you appreciate it :D

on a side note, does anyone know about the bluetooth feature. I'm going to get a wireless mouse w/ the usb connection thing, do I need to add on bluetooth feature to the dell if/since it doesnt come standard?

kinda stallin goin to bed, at least theres a decent movie on

  6. It's still coming up the full price. You might have to wait until tomorrow for that one. I think the ones working early are a fluke of some sort...

thanks guess ill get some sleep. Do you know how this works, do I have to 'customize' it myself or will it have the specs already put together as in the ad?

    Thanks n good night :)

  7. any idea what the deals will be cyber monday? I'm looking at the Studio 17" deal on BF, jw if there is anything comparable going on Monday.

Also, I don't know if the site isn't updated, but when you click on the link for the item it takes you here: http://www.dell.com/content/products/features.aspx/black_friday?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&dgc=CJ&cid=27811&lid=943172 and looking through the prices they aren't what is listed on here :( Thinking it will change on Friday???

  8. SONY VAIO LAPTOP FROM BB ON BF FOR $899.99

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9999101400050008&st=9999101400050008&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=pcmprd101500050008

    Facts:

    16.4" XBRITE ECO (720p) widescreen...NO FullHD (1080P) support.

    Intel T5800 processor...

    Blu-ray DVD player....no burner...

    My guess:

    250GB hard drive 5400RPM...not 7200RPM

What do you guys thing? Worth the $$$?

thats where im questionable. Since I have a ps3 there's my blu-ray player. I was thinkin of saving the 200 and getting the 17" HP from staples for 700, would be good enough to DL & play movies on and connect to my hdtv via hdmi. Or even the Dell for 800. I like Dell, had my desktop for about 7 years now, no issues with it. Aaaah decisions decisions

  9. I have an hp dv6135nr right now which is very similar to the model that you were looking at. I have had it for 3 years, and have had NO problems with it whatsoever. I take really good care of it, making sure to handle it gently and store it well when travelling, but it has been a GREAT laptop. The touch media buttons are kinda fun, too...

thanks for the info on the hp, i guess theres might be a year or 2 older so b4 they stepped it up, i dont know tho. I am considering that laptop since its a bigger screen, looks good, alot of features i like, plus has the number pad on the side. although now Im looking at the Dells too, I know its going to be a last minute decision. Thanks again

  10. there any sort of heads up (items/pricing) on this?? kind of debating if I am going to get a dell or wait in line at best buy for the sony vaio

I saw the ad scans that has the 17" Studio for 800, so that would be my option. Now just gotta wait for an update for when the link goes up, hopefully sometime Thursday before I would go wait at a store haha

  11. If I am correct, then the HDD on this lappy might be 5400RPM (revolutions per minute). Right now, almost all new laptops have 7200RPM. this is faster. But it is SATA.

    XBRITE-FullHD™ : 1920 x 1080 resolution (1080p)

    XBRITE-ECO™ : 1280 x 800 resolution (~720p)

Also, I hope it has BR burner (not just player)...

the bb guy told me that it wont be able to burn blu-rays, only read :(

Is 250GB 7200RPM? FullHD? Can you please (if possible) try to get those two answers from a BB employee?

Which HP 17" you are talking about?

    I was looking at the dv7-1132 (http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/StaplesProductDisplay?PID=1418914&jspStoreDir=Staples&fromUrl=home&catalogId=10051&productId=246638&cmArea=SEARCH&langId=-1&AID=10427430&storeId=10001&cmSearchKeyword=HP+Pavilion+dv7-1132nr+Entertainment+Notebook+PC)

not too sure of the reputation HP carries, my parents have one just a few years old and its a pos. Was also considering splurging and extra 100 to get the Dell 17" one, but then again if I'm spending 800, may as wel spend another 100 to get the sony w/ the blu-ray, even if im not a fan of the non-touch sensitive buttons... haha i'm picky i know but hell i'm greek its in my blood to look for the best deal possible

All the Sony Vaio laptops they had in this style, they had three, were FullHD 1080p. I asked a sales rep if all the Sony Vaio's they sold with blu-ray were FullHD 1080p and he said he hasn't seen one in months that wasn't. Then I brought up the Black Friday laptop and he said he couldn't imagine it not being 1080p....so i guess we'll see. Hope that helps.

BB said the BF Sony will be 1080p, like I said above, basically a model in between the 235 and 270

  12. Iwen BB and got some info from the employees onth Sony VAIO. Its a model right in between the FW-235 and FW-270. Has the 250gb hd of the 235 but the blu-ray of the FW-270, white keys. I kinda got turned off from that one when I saw the VAIO's, was hopingthey had the new style touch-sensitive music keys and what not. Still seems like a good deal, but might now look at the HP 17" one
  13. I hope it has HDD with 7200RPM and FullHD (not ECO) screen.

Is the HDD different than the SATA hard drive that the other Sony Vaio has, and whats the difference between the FullHD and the ECO?? Sorry but I haven't looked at laptops in a while so not sure what specs are better than others.

I wish the ads gave all the specs on these since they aren't current items in the store, and I doubt if you take the ad to BB they will give more info on it right?

  14. Anyone know any specific details about Sony Vaio laptop that is for $899.99?

I am wondering the same thing, all I saw was that it is 16.4", 4gb ram, 250 gb hdd, blu-ray player. Basically this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9034225&type=product&id=1218010849590 but w/ a blu-ray player and hopefully a faster processor:

if you dont want/need the blu-ray player theres this one at bj's (dont know if there is one by you) for $799: http://shop.bjs.com/Sony-16-4--34--VAIO-Laptop-PC-with-Intel-Core-2-Duo-T5800-Processor--4GB-DDR2--250GB-HDD-Laptops---Desktops_stcVVproductId54783099VVcatId428430VVviewprod.htm on BF

  15. Just refer to the google and search for: Sony vaio recall

I have yet to personally see any Sony Vaio notebook in person that functions as intended.

i did a search and saw the recalls were with the TZ series overheating, didnt see too much on the FW series (which is the higher end one i'm interested in). Better be a good laptop for $900, even w/ blu-ray player. Thanks for the heads up tho.

Anyone else have bad experience with Sony VAIO's, specifically the FW line?

  16. Why are Sony laptops such hit or miss? I'm looking at the Sony VAIO Blu-Ray laptop from Best Buy for $900, just wondering if theres alot of issues with those laptops.

I currently have an Acer that I want to use just for school purposes, and its had problems since week 1. I even had to just reformat it to set it back to its original state, but it still craps out on me occasionally.

  17. anyone know anything about that laptop then?

i'm lookin for somethin like this w/ a blu-ray player. kinda wonderin if im even going to be able to get one if its one of the more popular items since i wont be able to get in line until 10pm thurs night.. do the more expensive laptops still go quickly also?

    thanks for any info :)

  18. Hello all, new on here. Just getting into the BF shenanigans, last yr all i got was an olevia HDTV from kmart , but this year looking to score a new laptop. Was wondering if that Sony Vaio 4gb RAM, 250 GB HDD w/ Blu-Ray is legit??? I know some people have been saying the ad is a fake, but just in case its not or if that item really is on sale, I'm looking for something like that. Any info/tips?

posted this in another thread but figured i would try this one as well... thanks for any info!
