  1. Placed a 30 item order this morning online and it STILL won't process my credit card! I've tried 3 different cards.Customer Service is closed today and there's no Live Chat. Really frustrated.

  2. This year, it'll be whatever they're serving in whichever Frankenmuth restaurant my dad got us the reservation for. I love to cook but he seems to think I need a break from it (not realizing that cooking for 1 gets REALLY old for me vs cooking for others). Sooo... Rather than argue with him every year, it seems to be every other year he lets me cook. I'm good with that. I'm thinking he might just miss being around a larger group of people. My brother lives across the country and his work is such that he rarely gets enough time off to come "home" for the holidays so it's just me and dad here. Big change from when brother and I were kids and it'd be my dad's parents, mom and dad, dad's two siblings, and my brother and I. Times, they do a' change.

Frankenmuth is one of my most favorite cities in Michigan!

  3. I bought the power air fryer from QVC nearly 2 months ago.  But someone told me hers didn't work very well, so I am going to send it back. However, she did tell me it was probably something she did.  Now I am debating on keeping it.   Does anyone have the Power Air Fryer?

I bought the Power Air Fryer in March '18 from Kohl's and LOVE it! We used it all summer as it didn't heat up the house and cooked stuff speedy quick! I never add any extra oil and mainly used it for pizza rolls, mozz sticks, snacks like that. It was just recently a TSV and my mom (87 y.o.) and I were watching the segment and I said how much I loved mine and she wants one too. It like an inch too tall to fit under my cabinets so I store it when not in use,but that's not a problem for me (I don't like stuff on my countertops)

  4. Our Christmas Eve tradition for the past 30 years is going to the mall about 11 a.m. We don't really need a lot by then, but sometimes find a last minute deal. We always have lunch at the Food Court. Then we go to 5 o'clock Mass and afterwards, the big family gathering with lots of food, games and family time! Christmas Day is always opening presents with the kids still at home and later in the evening, the Christmas Dinner with the rest of the kids/families. And always, A Christmas Story playing in the background!

  5. I was in store tonight and picked up the 6 ft. tree with colored lights for $47.99. Brought it home and daughter told me she preferred clear lights. Bummer; but WAIT! Hopped online because I am a Red Card holder and got the Doorbuster 6 ft tree with clear lights for the BF price of 29.99 so YAY! Christmas is saved-thanks Target! :gdclap: It will be here next Weds which is later than I like to put up my tree but can't beat the price!

  6. Corn pudding! (The name sounds so vile to me and because of that, I refused to try it for years...boy was I missing out...absolutely the most delicious thing ever!) I make it every year at Thanksgiving and Christmas and it is always a hit! A delicious comfort food. I usually double this recipe and use a larger baking dish.

    1 can of creamed corn

    1 can whole kernel corn

    1/4 pound of butter softened

    1 package Jiffy cornbread mix

    8 oz of sour cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Put butter in 2 quart casserole dish, place in oven until melted.

Remove casserole dish and add creamed corn, kernel corn, corn muffin mix and sour cream. Mix well, bake uncovered approximately 30 minutes.

We add a cup of shredded cheese to it and call it Corn Casserole! I make it just about every holiday even if I'm usually the only one who eats it :sidesplit

  7. I had flashbacks reading this. Typing a paper and it jamming or smearing and having to redo it. Oh my poor fingers. I had the old one that you had to stay with your fingers to get it to work. Oh the horror. ..

Onion skin paper that you needed that special eraser pencil with the brush on the end or carbon paper.I was so happy to have that typewriter that had the white-out ribbon so you could backspace, retype the mistake with the white ribbon, then type your correct key! Kids today can't even conceive the horror of typing term papers on typewriters!

  8. I am happy to welcome my new son-in-law to the family and am wondering about how many presents to give to him and my daughter. i already know for sure that I will continue the tradition of the Christmas stocking for my daughter and will love giving one to my son-in-law (I go so over board on stockings that I can't fit everything in it!) but am wondering about other presents. This is my first married child and don't really know what to do! Do I continue to have a whole of lot presents for her and also an equal amount for her husband? A few personal presents for each and maybe a couple/house gift? It just dawned on me that my daughter won't be at my house on Christmas morning and it's going to be different, but I'm excited that they are off to a brand new adventure of making Christmas traditions of their own!

What does everyone else do? I'm looking forward to hearing how everyone else has experienced this!

  9. We have one at our church (the "Giving Tree") but I used to see them at JCPenney's all the time. I always used to participate in the Walgreen's one for senior citizens but haven't seen that in probably 3 years.
