  1. Bedroom TV's

    Sweeper

    Coffee maker

    Target's 1000TC sheets

Not sure if this is true but I read that 300tc-500tc of a good cotton blend (ie egyption but i prefer sateen) is better than 500+tc because the sheet is woven so tightly it cant breath and will cause lots of sweating. I think it was in good housekeeping. You might wanna look into it before you choose which sheets to buy on bf since so many go on sale.

  2. I can't believe I'm the first person to say Kohl's.

For those that say Best Buy & TRU - try shopping at Kohl's. Talk about long lines. You almost have to tag team it and have your partner grab a spot in line while you go and shop. Guarantee that 1 hour later that person will still be in line.

I wont go near kohls at all. All the major stores are right next to each other by me so last year I did tru got everthing i wanted except electronics line to get into electronics dept got old fast , old navy got lego rock band, gamestop got two games at regular price that were not on sale anywhere and was done by 5. The year before best buy for mario ds then walmart for a vacum and sheets.

  3. I guess under $100 is good. As far as fitting in my pocket or more controls, I don't care :tongue1:

    Just a basic digital camera.

The kodak ones have been on sale alot lately. My bf has had one for over a year and it works great if you just want a simple point and shoot thats small and doesn't require too much camera knowledge.

  4. Try your local craigslist. Post a wanted add and people looking to sell them will email you. If he will settle for the older ds (the bulkier 1 from before the ds lite) you can get 1 for around $50 since game stores only offer 40 off a ds lite for the trade in. It still plays ds games and has the touch screen. PS if he has a birthday coming up ds prices will be going down early next year because the new dsi is being released. Good luck!
  5. i have seen some clothes at walmart but i also saw some online at stores that specialize in preemie clothes i just didnt know which was the best route to go b/c the preemie stores are really expensive for something she wont wear very much....

I completely agree it is not worth it to spend a ton on preemie clothes or even any 0-12 months clothes cause the are ougrown very quickly and end up getting spit up or poop stains anyway. Burlington coat factory has some cheap sometimes especially on clearance. Also if you dont mind going the second hand route big thrift stores such as the red white and blue often have tons of baby clothes often never used with the original tags still attached. Or you could check on craigslist or freecycle. Just be sure to wash em with a baby safe laundry detergent.

  6. Everyone has posted some great ideas, but I figured I'd share one more. If you have a local farmers market go there and ask around. We got a kitten by pure accident a few weeks ago when we went to the farmers market to get pumpkins. We walked in and the next thing I know my neice and son were holding an all black 6 week old kitten. A woman said it was the last one in a litter that she had been finding homes for all day and it was free. I had to take her to the vet and pay $30 for shots and will probably have her spayed soon. She was already litter trained and gets along great with my 6 year old. Farms are notorious for having cats and kittens and the farmers market is a great place to ask. Good luck with your search.
  7. HMM... if your talking about the puffle I got 1 a few weeks ago at TRU for 5.99. They were all sold out online so i went to the store and they didn't have the color I wanted so i was there the next day for another deal and saw they had the 1 I wanted. TRU is the only store I've seen them in. Call them daily they will let you know if they have it or when it is coming in.
  8. NO final plan yet. The only must have item I need is the Mario Red DS for my DS6. I want to pick up some sheets and towels so I'm leaning toward Walmart first since they have the lowest price on the ds and towels. next target and VS then home. I also really want a new digital camera for myself but none of the ones I'm interested in are on sale so it'll wait til later in the season.
  9. I dont have the complete list but I have some of it...

    Wii

    Game Party

    Barbie: The Island Princess

    Summer Sports

    Cooking Mama: Cook Off

Spongebob Squarepants: Creature From Krusty Krab

    NAMCO Museum Remix

    Wonder World: Amusement Park

    DS

    Ben 10: Protector of Earth

    LEGO Star Wars II

    Bratz

    Cake Mania 2

    Barbie: The Island Princess

  10. Ah ha, knew i had seen them...honestly i don't think you need to stand out for the Simpsons...but maybe i'm doubting their "pull" I usually swing by CC around like 7am to pick up the tv on dvd (was very disappointed to see no gilmore girls this year!!!)...they usually have alot of the dvds and people arent exactly running for them :fluffy: Depending on how many sets you're in the market for, you could save maybe $30!

Gilmore Girls seasons 1-6 are at Target for 14.98 each starting tommorow.

  11. I found this forum last year!! I will never go out on BF again;) One fist fight at Walmart 3 years ago for a lap top was enough!!

I am glad to be back this year and really appreciate all the ads and great information.

I am wondering; I heard Game Stop opened early morning Black Friday last year. Is there any word this year? Any way to get a AD?? I could really use a Wii controller!

    Thanks!

wii controllers and nunchucks are buy 1 get 1 1/2 off at TRU tommorrow until 1 pm

  12. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think this is a GREAT idea. She has pediatrics next semester. Which one exactly do you recommend? (Title). I see a ton and I want to make sure I get a good one. Thanks again to EVERYONE... I'll keep you all posted as I work my way through this little $50 adventure.

Since she is starting PEDS right after X-mas I would go with... OB/Peds Women's Health Notes: Nurse's Clinical Pocket Guide. It has maternity and peds so its like a bonus if she hasn't had maternity yet or a reference if she has.

Here is the link at amazon...

If she likes it then she can always check out the others. I forgot to add you can write on the pages and erase it.

Also some are geared toward rns and others not so much I doubt she will ever need nutri notes as she is not planning a patients diet.

Other good ones for nurses are

RNotes - vital sign normal ranges and some basic lab values and an overview of what to assess for each body system

MEDsurg notes - specific info about certain illnesses what to assess for

IV med notes or IV therapy notes - one has how to administer iv meds step by step and how to calculate the flow rate

She probably already has a drug book and or drug cards so she may not need the one on MED notes

Just wanted to add you are a great boyfriend and I'm sure she will be happy with your stocking.

  13. I am also a nursing student and find these clinical pocket guides very useful. Packed full of info, small enough to fit in the scrub pocket, and they are laminated so if anything gets on it it wipes right off. Its not exactly romantic but you said practical is good. These and a good cup of coffee get me through my clinical rotations.

RNnotes, Medsurg notes etc.. they make them for psych, pediatric and maternity as well

here is a link to them on amazon if your thrifty you can pick up a few for under a 5 apeice

  14. I desperately need a dresser and want the malm white 6 drawer dresser from ikea. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get a discount or coupon and if ikea ever has any sales. I have a student ID but I dont know if they only give discounts to students at certain times of the year or on certain items.

Any info you have would really help thanks.

  15. My son usually outgrows his clothes by the next time they are in season so I dont spend a lot for any particular brand. I do buy him long sleeved tees and then put the short sleeve tees (now on clearance) over them for a layered look and get him the pants that zip off into shorts so he doesn't need a whole new wardrobe every time the seasons change. The zip off pants from walmart have stayed in great shape. He is only 6 so I figure I will save buying the less expensive stuff now cause once he gets older he will want whatever brand all the other kids have.
