  1. They were resetting the salon haircare section and a lot of items were 50% off, moved to endcaps. The ones I can remember are Nexxus, Redken, Rusk, Tigi, Biosilk, Pureology, Fekkai, and CHI. Got some Pureology for half off (still ridiculously expensive).

To the poster who asked what Bodega is/was, it was the bulk items that they had in the seasonal section, that has now been reset with patio and garden. The last stragglers have been moved onto endcaps. It was stuff like personal care products and cleaning products, usually multi- or bonus-packs. I was able to find some Finish dish tabs and Aveeno face wash for half off but the rest was gone.

  2. Thank you MeliesMom for the tip on toothpaste! On Friday I was going to buy two 3-packs for 2.98 each but decided to see what happened with three, and sure enough it prompted for the GC. So I ended up getting 18 tubes of toothpaste (six 3-packs) for $8 (after subtracting two $5 GCs). Awesome deal when one tube is usually $3.

...Best find today was crest 3 pack toothpaste and 4pk colgate toothbrushes for $2.98 in bulk section. They were 50% off, plus target has a promotion right now, buy any 3 crest, colgate, etc get a $5 gift card! I had no idea. I just picked up two packs of toothbrushes and a 3 pack of toothpaste. When he rang them up he said I got a gift card so I went back for more!

  3. Our electric blankets finally 70% off. Only had a few king left at my store and another store had none! Glad I can quit stalking them!!! :)

OMG thank you 1angelnhvn! I went back to the same Target I went to last night and sure enough, they had been marked down. I got the very last Queen and only because I remembered a few random endcaps that had stragglers. I had to settle for a color I didn't want, but who sees it anyway. There were lots of twins if anyone wants them for the kiddos. Heaters were also 70% off but they were out of the one I wanted. Went to another Target and there were no electric blankets left and heaters were only 50% off so YMMV.

  4. Late yesterday the Vday was 90%. Only one endcap left but there were dog biscuits and toys for 49 cents, whoopie pie and brownie pop kits, slipper socks, and some non-chocolate candy. Was hoping for 70% off heated blankets but they were only 50, however this was at a store that is not marking down as quickly as others (two days ago got some bodega items for 50 off and they were only 30 off at this store).

Has anyone else seen electric blankets/throws 70 off in DFW area?

  5. Toys were consolidated but no extra markdowns.

Christmas was salvaged/scanning INF (tested with some known hidden items). Didn't try to buy since there was nothing I wanted.

Neiman Marcus appears to be languishing at 70%.

Bath sets were 50% off (4.98). I saw Olay, Dove Men, Various Axe sets, Sponge Bob, and Hello Kitty. Possibly the Nivea Men and Dove women too but there were none left. The sets with razors were only 30%. The Axe sets seem like a really good deal, actually they all are since for the price of one body wash you get at least two other items as well.

  6. Yay, good for you! I looked for them but no luck. Which Targets do you normally shop at? My local Targets are Irving 635 and Lewisville off of 121. Found some rattles today but other than that the stores were wiped out clean of clearance. Was really hoping to find the Tonka trucks for my little one but didn't see any, there were also way too many employees in the toy aisles stocking/marking down/consolidating so I didn't get to really look look.

Hi, I occasionally go to the Lewisville/121 store (so nice and new), but usually shop at West Plano (got a kind of schizo remodel recently). I go to other stores too depending on where I will be that day - I found the chips at the Richardson store at Coit/Campbell.

Totally forgot to post, I saw clumping kitty litter on sale 70% off, lots of large jugs of it on an endcap. I think it was around $3 a jug in Winter Pine scent (if you or your cats can tolerate that...)

  7. So excited, I found some of the Stacy's naked pita chips in the holiday packaging in the regular snack aisle! Yeah! 29 cents a bag and I found three. They don't expire until May, either. I'm going to buy some of those snack sized hummuses at Costco and make my own snack packs. Found a bunch of other stuff too, like more elf nail polish (.19) in the makeup clearance bin and some candle holders and vases (.40 - 1.69) in the regular candle aisle.
  8. I'm sorry if this has been asked in the past, but this was my first time experiencing the regular aisle items/"hidden finds" at 90% off. It was great! Is this a once-a-year type of event connected with 90% holiday seasonal clearance? I want to know if there's more fun in my future. :)

In my experience there is some degree of fun to be had year-round, but this holiday was particularly fun, I agree (and usually holiday stuff is the only stuff that goes to 90). If you are in the market for toys, the upcoming toy clearance is loads of fun, hunting for unmarked clearance toys. With Valentines and Easter coming up there is a good chance of hidden finds up to 90% off in accessories, kitchen, home decor, grocery, etc. And of course there is always a chance of scoring deep-discounted one-of-a-kind internet return items or totally random clearanced items (some go straight to 70%, I have scored loads of batteries this way). Happy hunting!

  9. My store was starting to salvage - all Christmas was gone and staff were scanning and pulling thoughout the store (with printout lists that said "salvage" on them, lol). Stuff is still ringing up 90 off though, and I was still able to find a few stragglers (elf lipgloss .19, elf mini-nail polish duos .29, womens tights yellow and coral .49 ea, gift tape .20, flip-out tape .20, double sided tape .30, silver "log" vase .80, metallic brights votive holders 1.00). No luck on any of the other "secret" finds, the place was pretty swept clean.
  10. Thanks to everyone who posted about the "hidden" deals in accessories! I had no intention of going today but it was just so much fun hunting for stuff. Bought some of the scarves, thong undies, pj's, and some gift items. Saw but did not buy glittery and silicone coin purses, kids' ties and bow ties, metallic slippers with bag, womens and girls tights (rolled with silver label instead of white). Most PJs were not 90%, the only ones I found were Mossimo night shirts with the silver price tag. Scanned a lot of stuff and some very obviously Christmas stuff was either only half price or not discounted at all (i'm talking about you, red and green Christmas pattern Bounty paper towels at full price).

Have not seen this listed yet, but "Gamago" brand hipster-type gifts were 90%. I saw unicorn corkscrews and a "junk in the trunk" ceramic log. Also some (I think) U-line brand cheese markers, wine tags, and the like, and some colored retro headphones (over ear and earbud styles). These are the type of things you see at Urban Outfitters, guess Target was trying to grab some of that demographic.

  11. Anyone been today and know whether it is salvaged?

Yesterday I found a tiny silicone alarm clock for 1.49 (reg 14.99). It looks like it's not working but it just has a tag you pull on the battery compartment. Also found a different style of Scotch tape dispenser, looks like a colorful plastic donut and the cutting mechanism pulls out (hard to describe), .20 like the other clearance tapes.

  12. Well after seeing people saying it's at 90% in North Texas I ventured out just a little while ago (sick, should of stayed at home) and it's still 70% in Lewisville (Hebron/3040) :(. The store had a lot of ornaments, tissue paper, gift bags left. May go in the AM to see if it's 90%.

That is so strange, one of the stores I went to was the Lewisville/Carrollton one on 121, which I don't usually go to, and it was 90% yesterday. Sorry you are sick, it's so frustrating when you muster up the energy to head out only to be disappointed. Hope you feel better today and score some 90 off deals.

  13. This is probably my fourth time going and I did OK but was a little disappointed. Huge crowds, long lines, much more so than last year. I did manage to score a cute purse plus some sweaters for DH. Heard the Coach was gone in 5 minutes, last year there were still some stragglers around after an hour. Markdowns were not as big as last year making for not so great deals. I can remember buying a Guess purse for $9 one year, and getting lots of houseware items for a few bucks each. Also they used to have extra 50 off makeup department items, but yesterday it was straight-up 50 off, mostly perfume sets. Lots of people buying luggage but I thought it was pretty hideous. Eh, I still had fun. Went later in the day to return an item and WHOA, glad I went earlier, it was a MADHOUSE!

BTW, signage everywhere indicating than anything marked 65% off or more had until 1/3 close of day to return.

  14. Went to yet another store yesterday and it was 90% but only signed 70% so I was able to snag a few cute things (hello, adorable mercury glass skulls!). Still no sign of any Halloween Dollar Spot, guess it was salvaged. Come to think of it, I didn't even see any Thanksgiving/Fall Dollar Spot, it was ALL Christmas/Holiday.

Also, it seems the Dollar Spot "premium" items went up to $3.00 (from $2.50).

I have been continually checking the clearance end caps and finding some decent stuff for Christmas presents! I seem to recall in years past there was virtually no clearance after BTS/garden (other than Halloween/fall stuff), but I've done OK this year for some reason. I've found you have to pounce on bargains quickly, as they seem to be salvaging sooner for most items. Well, except for those stupid Shops at Target items that have been hanging around FOREVER!

  15. Yesterday one out of three stores in my area was 90%, the others were only 70%. The 90% store had a decent amount of stuff left so I was able to get some pet items and decorations for next year. There were a lot of clothing items, food items, and kids' costumes. Not too many adult costumes, lights, or decor items. It was fun digging through the boxes and return carts for treasures - there was a metal dolly with boxes on it abandoned in the aisle ready for digging. Dollar Spot was GONE, couldn't find one item at all three stores. The 70% stores had nothing left I wanted so I won't bother to recheck today. I was not interested, but was told Halloween Mac n Cheese was ringing up 19 cents and Boo-Berry, Frankenberry et al was around 39 cents. Also got some cute dog toys for the shelter for 50 cents each (spray paint can, newspaper, wedding cake, cheer horn, flower, handcuff rope toy, champagne bottle, etc - these are "accessories" for the dog costumes).
  16. Swung by my closest store and it was indeed salvage/INF, but a nice (or maybe indifferent?) cashier entered the prices I told him they should be with no problems. Got some more sunscreen for hubby and a couple more dollar spot items. I agree with you kristinraye, great customer service goes a long way in this competitive market. If it's on the floor they should sell it at the last discounted price, or else sweep more often and get it off the floor. Why would they even have 90% off clearance if it didn't benefit them in some small way?
