  1. Started with Staples. I got in line at 4:55 and was number 6. Too bad I wasn't in the market for a laptop this year because they actually had it in stock at my local store and I definitely would have gotten it. I picked up WD MyBook 640gb, 8gb Cruzer, Kodak Easyshare, and the free printer.

They let us in about 15 minutes early and started ringing us up at 5 of.

Next I headed over to Officemax and waited another 40 or so minutes for them to open. Grabbed up the Brother HL2140 for 50 bucks.

Went to Best Buy and found nothing of interest.

Last I stopped at Wal Mart and found the Garmin Nuvi 200 was still in stock for 97 so I picked that up along with a 10$ laptop case and The Black Dahlia for 2 bucks. I then ended with Staples again and returned the Nuvi 250w I got.

    Good day :-)

  2. I got the Tom Tom 3rd last BF. It had my home street reversed (I live at 59 and it was placing me down a dirt road where houses don't even exit let alone a legitimate road. I put in my address for my job at the time and it brought told me to go the wrong way. I shut it off and wish I hadn't bought it. From then I hadn't had any significant problems, but I had the device stolen about two months ago. Looking to buy another GPS and NOT a TomTom.

Garmin or Magellan? I'd prefer the 100$ range.

EDIT: also the TomTom took what seemed to me a ridiculously long time to acquire satellite reception (or whatever it is)

  3. I got up at 4:30-4:40am. I live less than ten minutes away from my local store so I was in line around 4:50-5:00am. Got everything I wanted easily.

I might go a little bit later this year.

It's nice, Staples has good deals but it seems to be such a low key location. The fact that there are at least 3 locations in my area, the closest (North Kingstown), then there is Warwick and Wakefield, both about 25 minutes north or south. So it gives Rhode Islanders a better chance to get these deals (IMO).

I heard employees can NOT get deals. Have a friend come in?

  4. Last year was my first BF. My first stop was Staples. Picked up a GPS, flash drive, and a couple other things. I originally wanted I think it was the 350$ Compaq Laptop but they didn't have it at my local store.

This year I plan on going to Staples first (I plan on spending overall much less than last year, 500+ to about 200 tops this year).

My list is looking like this:

    SanDisk 8GB Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive $12.99 *

Western Digital My Book 640GB USB Hard Drive $69.99

    Kodak EasyShare C913 9MP Digital Camera w/ 1GB Card$79.99

Free Canon Photo Printer w/ Purchase of Any Advertised Camera FREE *

What are you guys looking to pick up?

After that I think I'm going to head to Best Buy and then

    OfficeMax:

    Brother HL-2140 Monochrome Laser Printer$49.99

Somewhere along the way I need to pick up a GPS (Mine got stolen in the campus parking lot)

  5. There's a 26 inch Vizio LCD HDTV for 379. I'm assuming its an open box display model type thing because its on a shelf with a bunch of other marked down TV's. But its marked down from 475. Is this a good deal? I'm passively in the market for a 26-32in LCD TV. Should I? There is only one so I may need to think fast.
