I don't understand exactly what you mean. You'd need a cable, for sure, to connect an MP3 player to your computer, if that's what you're talking about. A lot of MP3 players come with pre-bundled software that makes it easy to transfer songs. In my experience, my iPod with iTunes has faired me well. Perhaps an iPod Shuffle would be adequate?

My friend worked at Sears for a couple years--he didn't have glowing reviews either.
