    I thought that I would add for those considering getting one as a first phone for their kids that you might want to check with your carrier to see what type of deals they have. We got a pay as you go for our ds15. We have Verizon as our plan and they wanted BIG bucks to add him to our plan. So I bought a Verizon phone on eBay for $20. Took into our local store and had it setup. We pay $15 a month for unlimited text and voice is about .10 a minute. For a teenager..its all about texting.

     

     

    We had a pay as you go through Alltel and that plan was great too for price. They told me that they could setup any of their phones for pays as you.

     

    Sadly - we can not use Tracfone - reception is very poor.

    Thank you so much for the replies. I just finished putting the Pixos in my Amazon cart because I thought my girl would love it. I am one of those mothers that if the item becomes a hassle, it disappears. It sounds like it would disappear rather quickly so I am not going to buy it.

     

     

    I would vote for any Discovery toys. These last about 5 hours on the "holds their interest" scale. My husband on the other hand has found lots of hours of enjoyment out of the toys :)

    A great recipe to make with the kids

     

    Holiday Weaths.

     

    1 bx Corn Flakes

    1 stick butter

    1 bag marshmallows

    1 bag Red Hots

    Green food coloring

     

    Melt butter and marshmallows and stir in the food coloring to suit. Add the corn flakes and coat with green marshmallow mixture. Drop small balls of mixture on to wax paper. Flatten out and put hole in middle so it looks like a weath. Add four Red Hots to each one.

    Christmas has come and gone already at my house. We had our fun tonight because we are going 600 miles away and I refuse to drag presents along that can be opened and left here. More room in the car.

     

    This was a very small Christmas compared to past years. I spent a 1/3 of my normal budget. My husband and I decided not to exchange giifts this year. Thanks economy.....

    IPod 4g $79.99/Got this at Apple. Its a refurb but I would never know it. Perfect condition. Happy but expected something like this since there were very few presents under the tree.

    Itune Card $30 Downloaded the Dark Knight within 30 minutes of opening the Ipod.

    Wowwee Dragonfly $19.99/$49.99 This is very cool! Amazon has them on sale for $19.99 right now. Highly recommended and more durable then the helicopters. These land slower and kind of glide down so the plastic does not get slammed like the copters. He got a copter last year and it broke within 1 hour. This thing was all over the house and still is perfect.

    Under budget by $12. Teenagers are expensive~ $138.00/$180.00
