  1. That is why they are so cheap suddenly. The Blu-ray players with Netflix have pushed the price down on the ones without. So, if you don't need Netflix(it is on Xbox and PS3 now) then this is a pretty good deal.

ok I am totally new to Blu-ray what is the Netflix thing with the player that is different? We are building a media room and need a Blu-ray, plan to mostly buy our movies, we don't rent or stream...Thanks in advance.

Also the deal on the Sharp 42" looks good, do you think we'll see a better deal on that size TV on BF. It would be help to not have to be out getting a TV on BF.

  2. at 8pm on December 24, 2004 my daughter (14 mos old) was admitted into the hospital with Pneumonia, that next Christmas morning, her hospital room was visited at least half a dozen times by complete strangers bringing her gifts for Christmas. It was one of the most amazing things I had ever been through.

Every year since, we (me, DH, DD6 and DS4) pay it forward driving the 30 minutes from our house back to that hospital at 8am Christmas morning to deliver gifts to the children that are there for the holiday. Our kids don't know Christmas any different, its a great way to start off the day.

  3. I was at Disney Store at 11pm on Thanksgiving I was 7th in line they let us in the mall at about 11:45 and into the store just before midnight, I quickly got everything I wanted as there were more than 200 people there, more than I had ever seen at a Disney Store in BF. I only waited about 15 minutes to pay (got everything at 25 - 40% off plus the extra 20%). but when I left the line was huge.

Then I came home and went to sleep, then went to Game Stop at around 8 for used games got 8 games and a controller for $72, then to target for PJs, then to KMart for B2G1 Playmobile.

Everything was great except the people (shoppers) at Target were really rude, everywhere else they were very nice and no issues.

  4. Will any of these prices apply to their online store?

I highly doubt you will get the ectra 20% from the online store. The best bet if you have items you want is to go to the Disney Store today and see what the current sale price is. For instance the Wardrobe dolls are $29.50 and at my store they are currently 40% off so thats $17.70 with the extra 20% they will be $14.16. Usually online will have the 40% off but not the extra 20%.

Actually right now it doesnt look like any of the stuff I saw on sale at the store yesterday is on sale online so its hard to tell.

  5. My son got GeoTrax grand Central Station last year for Christmas at 2 1/2, now we also have the airport, two bridges, two towers, saw mill, rock quarry and nature tunnel (plus I think 4 sets of expansion track). He plays with it daily, its great quality and because of the little guys that come with it there is lot of imaginative play as well. It will take up a bit of room, but its a great train set!
  6. I think this is the year we will find just as good of deals throughout the season as on BF because retailers can;t carry the inventory they used to and people don;t have credit to make the huge purchases in one day. So far most of the stuff on my lists I have found at prices that I know will rival BF ads and with the exception of my Disney Store stuff which I am fairly sure with the extra BF% off will be cheaper on BF (both in store and online) thats probably the only thing I will buy on BF.

The only ad that may be earthshattering from the rumbles around the inductry is WalMart and apparantly we won;t know whats in that ad for another week or so.

  7. My son has the PS2 version of GH w/wired guitar, then GH2 came out w/wireless guitar and we bought that (so his friends can play) then we bought the GH 3 & Aerosmith games (no guitars) and all the discs work with his original 2 guitars.

He just got the GH World Tour band kit for the Wii and since that's a different system, all the PS2 versions won't work on it.

Ok thanks, so basically I can buy the other games later for PS2 and they should work with the wireless guitar that came iwth the bundle. I think for the price then I will just go for the GH3 since its $44.95 and the game alone is $39.99, so really its almost like getting the guitar for free.

  8. Question, is there a major difference in the Guitar Hero bundles? I want to get one for DH for Christmas, we have a PS2 and KMart has the GH3 Bundle for $44.95 (its sold out online but they have them at my local store). The oother Guitar Hero I saw was Aerosmith and that one is like $89.00. If there a major difference between the two games?

$44.95 seemed really cheap for the game and the guitar and since we don;t have any of them I figured for that price it would be the way to go?

  9. I know my letter carrier by name and she goes out of her way to make sure we get our mail even when cars are parked in front of our box. We usually give her a gift card for $25 to either Target or another store. My Dad was a letter carrier and even a small gift like a box of candy is appreciated. They do work really hard.
  10. Quick question...

I ordered a bunch of items last night..Listed in the Amazon thread...States they will ship on 12/17 to be delivered on 12/24. Do you think they will make it before christmas??

It looks like all the super saver free shipping items are all now set for a 12/17 shipping (looks like they are trying to consolidate what they can). I have been getting most of my items within a few days, and since they will have some huge shipments that day they will probably send everything 3 day to arrive by 12/21.

It may be a better bet at this point to look into a trial of Prime, or have someone order it for you that has prime, just to be safe. I dont trust shipping the last week before Christmas.

  11. We didnt get one in our paper either (LA Times), and there was no lines at our store this morning (although my area has 3 walmarts within 4 miles of each other). They still had most of the big deal items when I arrived at 7:30am.
  12. Did anyone get a Mervyns ad in the paper? I was shocked that there wasn't one in either of my papers (LA Times and Daily News), but did notice an ad in the Times saying saying there were errors in the ad. I wondered if they left the ads out because of those errors.

I got one in my LA Times...funny I didnt get a walmart ad!

  13. erinplus3, I was there on Tuesday and noticed some Hannah Montana stuff. I don't remember what they had but there was a small section.

Yes they had a small section next to the princesses that was specifically Hannah Montana and High School Musical, I believe it was all 25% off, plus the 25% before 10am.

  14. Ok I went to the Disney Store today (Wed) and here is the deal, almost all of the items I want are available both online and at the store, so after a lot of comparison shopping and the fact that they have the new online 25% promotion, plus $5.00 shipping, its actually cheaper for me to buy online and just get a few items at the store (note that the store only items are at a huge savings with apparel, PJs etc 30-40% off BEFORE the BF 20%, and even though I am shopping online I will probably still go there on BF).

In particular the main item I want is the Princess cash register, which unless they missed a sale sign at the store was not on sale (I thought it would be 25%). So regular $39.50 on sale online for $26.99 plus 25% = $20.24. Even if the sign at the store was missing a 25% off sign the cheapest it would be on Friday is $23.70 (25% then 20%). I should note that all the items I want online are available at the $5.00 shipping.

One of the big items that will be well worth it is if you are looking for the Princess Enchanted Palace Dollhouse which is reg $149.99. Currently $109.99 online plus 25%, but its $99.99 at the store plus 20% on BF, and I do not you can get $5.00 shipping with it.

Anyway, the sale items are amazing, especially apparel and the small POS toys which are all 40% off (great stocking stuffers).
