  1. According to Lowe's here, the samsung washer is 4.0 cu ft. I specifically asked when I bought them today and they said 4.0 cu ft. As I understood, there were no diffs btw the 209 and 219

These are the exact same machines.. Just different model numbers.. The Lowes ad was a misprint. If you look up the 209 on the Lowes website, it says 4.0 cu ft.

The 209 and 219 are the same exact machines, just different model numbers for Sears and Lowes..

  2. dirtmcgirt79, thank you so much!!! I didn't know that but I called my Lowe's and they had them and I ordered right over the phone and got free delivery and haul away our old ones too! And next day delivery! And the Sears BF was 999.98 so it was 100 dollars cheaper. Now I don't have to buck the BF crowds. Also, I went to Sears this morning to look at both and the salesguy swore the kenmore HE3t didn't have steam, never did, doesn't now and that you have to get HE5t for steam. I showed him on line sears that it said steam (although they had another Elite HE3t washer that looked the same without steam) and he got the BF brochure and it said steam and he realized that it was a different model HE3t than they had on the floor which was the older model. To say he was surprised (and chagrined) is an understatement. I wonder how many people he told it definitely didn't have steam?

No problem.. Enjoy them!! This set has been great for us since we bought them last year.. No issues whatsoever..

  3. Thanks for the Ad!!

But, it looks like Best Buy is not going to be on my list this year.. Nothing special at all, but of course with Circuit City out of the way, the competition is down for them a little bit too.. So they don't have to be quite as aggressive with pricing..

  4. Another beware for anyone interested in price matching the Samsung washer/dryer pair at Lowes.. I posted this in the Washer/dryer discussion..

It seems like Samsung and Lowes and Sears are all covering their butts this year. Lowes carries the DV209AEW and WF209ANW. Sears carries the DV219AEW and WF219ANW. These are exactly the same, but legally they can say that they are different models so they don't have to price match. If you go to Samsung's website and try to do a comparison on these two models, it won't let you ad both of them to the comparison cart, because it says it's already in the cart. Though it's a different model number.

I'm sure that Lowes will end up price matching them again, but you might want to verify that they will BEFORE black friday just to be sure..

  5. I have checked both Lowes (on-line)and Home Depot (actual store) and have not seen where they have that model of the Samsung Washer/dryer combo.

  6. Does Sears offer delivery on BF items?

Looks like they will have a ton more W/D combos than last year. Definitely interested.

Also, am I mistaken or is there a non-doorbuster combo this year for $500?

I didn't see that combo.. only the $579 combo doorbuster..

But I would say that they won't have anymore sets than last year available.. they just covered their butts good this time with the fine print..

  7. yeah Sears got in some trouble last year and oversold hundreds of sets.. This year if you read the fine print, it says there will be no rain checks and only about 4 available at each store.. Once those 4 sell, they won't take anymore orders..
  8. oooooo - I might try that w/the Samsung set - I can wait for delivery, I just need it before May!

Listen, if you want the Samsung Washer/Dryer set do it the smart way. Take the Sears ad with you to Lowes on BF.. Lowes will price match it. Last year Lowes dropped the price on the set on BF to match Sears price (so they wouldn't have to add the extra 10% that they guarantee), so I'm sure they will do the same thing this year. Not many people will be waiting at Lowes for this deal, since it won't be advertised in their BF ad. Plus the line at Lowes is usually not very big anyway..

But if at all possible plan on taking the set with you that day... Don't rely on them to deliver, because what will probably happen is that they will sell all the sets, and send some home with customers, only to run out before your delivery. That's when you will end up waiting for months..

  9. Kren.. You and are think alike in many ways.. I am a mac user from way back (1999) in college, when Mac OS 8 and 9 were standard. OS X has changed things completely for Apple when it comes to user friendliness. A PC user can jump on Mac and within minutes be working just like they were in Windows..

I must spend several hours a week working on PCs in my house. Something is infected, has lost connection, crashed.. etc. It gets old. I work on software all day long so I don't want to have to come home and sit in front of my home computer troubleshooting.

My ibook g4 just died on me last month and it's killing me to not have a mac in the house right now.. And why did it die??? Ohh well, I accidentally spilled a cup of water into it... That thing has ran like a train since I bought it back in 2003. I don't remember a single crash with that thing.

Good thing is that since Apple released the new macbooks the old ones have come down a little bit.. Best buy has one for like $850.. which is VERY good..

I stood in line with my sister in law at Staples last year for $300 laptops.. I had mine for about 2 weeks before I sold it. It just never got any use in our house with the ibook around..Vista in no way compares to Leopard.

I'll have a new imac and macbook as soon as I can convince my wife to let me.:(
