  1. In a nutshell summary, here is what I can infer from this website and topics --

Everybody hates walmart because their prices are too low every other day of the year.

EVerybody hates walmart because their prices are not low enough on black friday.

    What hipocrites you are --

  2. You're kidding, right? You DID see the ad? There is a REASON why everyone is so majorly disappointed. This is the biggest shopping day of the YEAR. Walmart SUCKS and they have for at least 2 years now. It ranks right up there with last year's ad with the towels and bathrobes. Seriously....did they think we'd get up at 3 a.m. for the piddly, insignificant items they are offering?

What cracks me up is the GENIUS that got his panties in a bunch about the BIG AD leaking out early. GASP. GASP. GASP. Oh, yes, that would be horrific. :smirk:

    :confused::no::yuck:

Yes, I did. The things I want -- they were pretty good -- the 42" tv beats best buy's, the sony digital camera is better than bb's, and the Dell laptop for $388 is better than anybody. Oh yeah, and Shrek 3 and Spider man 3 for $12. Now I will admit I am NOT looking for jeans, mixers, scooters, toy robots, etc -- so not really sure if that stinks or not. I only visit this site to hear about the good deals -- not to hear people complain about walmart. I think there are other websites for that -- go chat on those.

  3. Wal-Marts ads is embarrassing. Target is going to be packed or would be if I had got my doorbuster ad. I'm so mad!

What are you so mad about? What did you want that they don't have? What is so awesome at Target? Seems like I am not looking at the same ads as everyone else, or I just stumbled into a walmart bashing site.

  4. I just came back from my local walmart (last minute food stuff for today). The electronics person told me that one of the $388 secret laptops is a Dell 15.4 with 2gb ram, 120 g hard drive, dvd burner, and vista premium that was $798. Model 1501 something. And they have 12 of them. He said all the others (HP and Toshiba are the same spec's but with 1g ram) I don't even need a new laptop but I am going to try to get that one!
  5. I see some good deals at walmart, and will buy some stuff. 42" LCD, sony digital camera, dell desktop. I don't know why everybody is complaining. What are you wanting walmart to do?I don't think walmart would make most of you happy unless they were giving away laptops and had unlimited quantities. But then you would probably complain about paying taxes or something.
  6. I find it humorous when everyone complains that walmart "owes" them everything. Give me $99 laptops, give me $99 plasmas, or I will hate you and complain on this website. Everyone that complains, where are you buying your milk, toothpaste, coffee, etc, etc? I bet you buy it at walmart. You probably shop there every week to save money on stuff you need. But they owe you cheap electronics and toys on one day of the year? What about the other 364 days when BB and CC are overcharging you? Do you post that you hate them?
  7. my walmart had the laptop (398) but on the box it said reburbished we asked the elect. manager if that the laptop they are selling he said yes what do you want for the price. Me and another buyer said now i see why it is so cheap is this true in all the stores ?:(

Come on. I got one of the laptops and the box didn't have anything on it that said refurbished. And there are many posts from people that are happy and no-one has said that. Are you some CC or BB employee just trying to make your ad look better than it really is???

  8. I don't get the price match here in WI either, they had the Compaq Laptop for $538.00 on 11/5/06 but the Rockford, IL flyer had it for $398.00 and the Wisconsin store would not price match, I spoke to a manager direct....

    So I didn't buy it.

If it's a state law in WI, why are you blaming walmart. Your stores would be selling it at $398 like everyone else if you didn't have the state law. Write your congressman, don't yell at the store mgr.

  9. OK....then how about this from HP's own website?

I worked a few weeks ago on a lady's computer she'd bought from Wal-Mart. It was an HP 6735KR. Looked up the computer on HP's website to look at what the original specs were and if the computer had been altered before I got it. (It'd been worked on before by a "friend" of hers so I wanted to make sure nothing was amiss from that.....and he didn't really fix it!)

I found something interesting......two models of the same computer. So I called HP tech support and asked........the HP 6735KR was a Wal-Mart specific computer and the HP 6735MX/CN were their online and BestBuy/Circuit City/Staples/etc. model.

Interestingly, the motherboards were DRASTICALLY different.

The BB/CC/Staples/online/etc. model had an Asus brand motherboard....and Asus is considered by some the Cadillac of motherboard manufacturers.

Hers, on the other hand, had a TriGem motherboard, a rather cheap Chinese-made 'board that's only sold to OEMs and cannot be purchased retail.

A link to the Asus motherboard model HP computers.....hers is not listed here, but is kinda by number.....6735, just the MX and CN versions....not the KR.

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?dlc=en&lc=en&product=58739&lang=en&cc=us&docname=bph07170

Here's a link to her computer's motherboard.......and it lists her model, the 6735KR model (left column, half way down....)

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?dlc=en&lc=en&product=58739&lang=en&cc=us&docname=bph07169

Now, both models ran Intel Celeron chips and had essentially the same chipsets, but who'd you want building it? To put it in other terms, do you want Toyota or Honda building your car or do you want Kia or Fiat?

To top it off, her hard drive was an offbrand Chinese hard drive, not a Western Digital, Seagate, Maxtor, Samsung, Fugitsu, Toshiba, or any other known and retail brand.

The memory wasn't even brand marked.....just had speed markings on the chip and an HP sticker saying "Remove and void warranty."

Now, I'm not saying every single HP Wal-Mart computer is made with cheaper components than the BB/CC similar models, but when Wal-Mart demands a price point be met, the manufacturer will do most anything to meet it....otherwise WM will go elsewhere to get that price.

If you've ever noticed, almost every electronic item in WM is almost the same part number as BB and CC, but is usually a letter or number off.....for a reason.

Personally, I buy dog food in Wal-Mart, but never electronics. Seen too much junk come out of there to trust them.

Dalerider, not sure you are getting the whole story from this lady. Wal-Mart's computers from HP all have a wm in the model number and have for years.

  10. Yes...there are stores that DO have this model right now as we speak!!!!!

If you really are a store manager, you need to get a clue. the laptop upc on our bf laptop is not the same as a laptop currently carried in the stores. you are giving everyone bad info about this layaway thing. If you really are a store manager, you can walk to your back room, look at the upc on the 2308 model number and compare it to the 2108 model number and see they are different. Then you can also see they are different walmart item numbers.

I think you are a BB or CC geek trying to confuse the people on this site because wmt schooled you on the laptop and you had to react.

  11. Only problem is it's a Refurb.

At least if you go to walmart.com right now and find that printer, it's a refurb.

I see what you are saying, but that printer is out of stock on the website. I have never heard of walmart selling refurb stuff on BF, have you?

  12. Great deal on a new laptop with combo DVD/CD-RW!!!

Rossman, why is the dell better than the walmart deal? I went to the link, and the dell has the rebates (so I have to wait on my money), is a 14" screen vs the walmart 15", does not include wireless (walmart's does), and does not include a 1 yr warranty (walmart's does).

Are you a dell groupie or something? I am not seeing what you are -- :stir:
