  1. hmmmm. Am I ready? I am here in october aren't I??!!! is my budget ready? Who curses and uses that dirty word.... BUDGET! But my kids make budgeting easy, my DD12 has her christmas list made up already! a new clothes hamper, 2 new belts and a new pair of gloves and maybe some jeans. oh, and i already bought it all. Do I have BF-ad-ADD? yep
  2. I want to know how the game trade in works. does anyone have any experiance with it? trade six games or more for an extra 40% in store credit? I bought a system from a friend with a crap ton of games, and we never play those kind....godfather, 007 ect. would love to trade in for something we'd use... like that used ds. any thoughts???
  3. as technology increases, prices will drop. I predict it to be the year of the net book while laptop prices stay the same as last year (but with slightly upgraded specs). With the addition of 3D and LED tv's, prices on LCD and plasma will continue to fall as we get closer to BF, and will be comparable to what we have seen in the past. People with out jobs= less income for retailers = not so many loss leaders for us to snatch up. Not terribly impressed with the ads that are out yet (with the exception of a few items @ sears.... and those are house things)

Will the ads be better? NO. will we all still be shopping? YES!!!

  4. I am so underwhelmed by these ads. I'm semi interested in the fleece throws but they're 2 cents cheaper 11/14. So why bother on BF?

because if you wait and buy on BF spend 2 more cents, you'll be able to be out with the rest of the crazies! We will welcome you with carts full on merchandise! I never go to sears, but as it is out here first, I have a list. It begins with Big A$$ TV! and ends with craftsman crap for hubby... oh wait, HE is going to sears. dang. not gettin what I want, but will be building a bigger wall at home (without purchased craftsman crap) to hold said tv.

  5. Are the barbies a deal at 5.99? It looks like they come with the outfits but I'm clueless about these things. I think the cheaper ones last year were just the doll for a little less at another store.

Barbie is a good deal. I have 2 girls. The cheap ones last year were lik 3.00-5.99 @ target and were just the doll. the big ste with the clothes was more from what I remember. They are on my list, but not looking forward to braving Kohls ever again. its a mad house out here with 2 registers open.....

  6. can't see it real well, I don't think, but 37 photos later, I'm tired of messing with it, havn't had any coffee yet!

note to self:buy kids another pumpkin seeing as mom stole it to win a t shirt!

and I'd dress up as Rosie The Riveter (yes my current costume), she was the ORIGINAL tough cookie!

  7. 1. tuesday november 22 ... ' WIPEOUT Target style', bob and jeff were the first two not to die and got their chairs across the finish line and ready'

    2. wed. november 23... Bob says to jeff "Who said shopping was womens work? this is man space" Jeff says "yeah but dude, you were supposed to wait till FRIDAY to buy the wii " Bob: "hows she gonna know? I got it didn't I?"

    3. BLACK FRIDAY : "Is there a bob or jeff here? Bob? Jeff? Your wives called, they saw you on the news with the wii and wanted me to let you know We are NOT doing price adjustments, I repeat we are not doing price adjustments. Bob? Jeff? I hope you are comfortable".

  8. I actually talked to both of them this weekend (still trying to talk them out of it). And both of them said "how bad can it be? it is just shopping.. just early in the morning" LOL!! Ok.. maybe I need to start a thread on the worse things you have seen on BF and make them read it..

Its always fun to take a first timer... buy them a helmet, take them to walmart/toys r us, DEMAND that they get item xxxx (make it a hot item too like elmo/furby hot), tell them "lets see if you make it out alive" when you shove them into the fray, laugh when they come out of that a little shellshocked, and remind them that you do this every year and LOVE it.

    NOW they can do anything!!

I would LOVE to see a bf boot camp! "DON'T LOOK AT IT THROW IT IN THE CART! GO GO GO! YOU NEED THAT TOASTER, NOW GET IT" viral video... awesome concept. seriously awesome.

I love the idea of taking my DD, 10, thanksgiving morning, as a bf warmup! She wants to go with me this year, but I think it might be a BB year, and I don't want her out that long. She has seen the videos, and it doesn't get that bad around here, but enough to make me nervous about taking her, so maybe thanksgiving shopping! Kmart, walmart and meijer... seems like a good compromise! And I think I will make her a shirt, with my cell # on it, just in case.

Thanks again GD'ers for the great ideas your amazing!

  9. WARNING: The OP is ***NOT*** what the signs said in my store--- reading closely reveals that you save an additonal 25% off anything ending with an 8 or 0--- for savings UP TO 75%. That is NOT the same thing as 75% off clearance, so read your store's signs carefully. I scanned a few things and what I have posted is correct.

changed it. sorry for any confusion guys I didn't look to close at the signs. (I was a bit rushed) what I was looking for I got at 70-75% off. still way better deal than full price.

  10. I am kinda sad. Hubby says I am just about done shopping... thank you amazon & toys r us clearance! well over $1,000.00 of christmas for less than 250$.

Dj hero wii complete pkg 16.00, tony hawk ride for wii + board and game 20.00, u create animation 15.00, u create music 15.00, some video camera thing with editing software (dd 10) 14.00! it retailed at over 120$. guitar hero for ds (with the hand buttons thing) 10.00. He is happy with me for shopping on sale But I don't want to be done!!! I like BF shopping, as long as i dont have to go to walmart. 250$ for four kids. not a bad deal. still have to pick up some bigger ticket things (a desk) and stocking stuffers. thinking hubby wants a bigger tv. 10 yr old is hard to shop for too. she has most everything, and what she doesn't have she wont use. sooooo, maybe I"m not all that done. yeay!
