  1. When we got my dd her iPod a couple of years ago Radio Shack had a great BF deal with add on deals like a gc and accessory pack that included a car charger which has come in very handy. I agree with whoever said to go with a 16 or 32gb one if you can afford it and it wont break the bank! The plus side to Radio Shack here is that it is in a strip mall away from the morning crowd and was easy getting what I needed without fighting a major crowd and being disappointed that they are out of the special deal. I actually usually will go there before BF and speak with the staff. I always get great customer service and advise.
  2. Fake! We always had a real tree at Christmas growing up. I was ALWAYS sick for Christmas and my parents never figured it out until I was allergy tested at the age of 24 and found out I was severely allergic to pine... Fake tree here! I prefer to be able to breathe and not have hives. LOL :)
  3. If your a radio geek, then the $99 Police Scanners are a good deal I think. I actually have the handheld model and it has not given me any problems.

I would like to get the $299 model, but I'll shall see how things are then

Make sure the department you want to listen to has a radio system that is compatible with the scanner you are buying. Ours have gone to a digital system that we can't hear everything with a basic scanner any more. We can only hear the dispach send the trucks, but nothing from fire ground/scene. Can't wait for those scanners to go down in price.

I am also in for the hexbug habitat! Great buy. Too bad about the gps though, we were leaning toward that, but I definitely want the Map updates. I might have to consider Best Buy. Or shake down the local guys one day after work to see if there is going to be any un-advertised sales. I never even thought about doing that :)

  4. I can't believe I'm the first person to say Kohl's.

For those that say Best Buy & TRU - try shopping at Kohl's. Talk about long lines. You almost have to tag team it and have your partner grab a spot in line while you go and shop. Guarantee that 1 hour later that person will still be in line.

I will not go anywhere near Kohl's until after 5pm. Our store is the only one around for miles and it is a mob scene!

  5. Last year was not my first Black Friday, but it was my very best one thanks to GottaDeal.com!!! I got everything on my list and some other very good buys. The one good and very different thing that happened to me was in WalMart, I had my usual stack of door busters in my arms (because a cart in WalMart slows me down) and I dropped a couple items I had 2 different people stop and help me. Maybe thats why they call us the "Friendly City" :)
  6. Line cutters are the worst!

I really hate the people who all grab shopping carts and then when they get to the back of the store in electronics where its nuts leave them all over the place, then you are not only wading through people but all of the empty carts that are left behind :eyepoppin

I get upset when I see obviously non-handicapped people using those parking spots:(

  7. We take the mini-van and usually make one stop for drop off's between shopping areas. Conveniently our home is right between the 2 best shopping areas! yippee! LOL I've also found out that the evening time is great time to go back and pick up the things that you're not worried about selling out b/c everyone is at home exhausted, its really kinda surreal to go back where it was sooooo crowded 15 hrs before LOL
  8. Thanks to finding this site a couple of years ago, I now have a much better game plan than before :) It all starts on TG by leaving the kids with my Mother to spend the night, bless her! my dh and I usually go home and spread out the ads get on this site and formulate the plan, hit bed early. We started packing some food and a cooler of pop for me and a thermos of coffee for him. We have to cover a lot of ground around here b/c there are 2 separate shopping areas about 30 miles apart, and we dont have time to stop and eat! Target and Walmart in one area, Toys R us and Sears in the other. Of course this year might be different, we finally got a BB that will be opening up in a few weeks!! I'm so excited!!
  9. This is great. New ways to torment my kids!!! We do the different colored wrapping paper for the kids, but they don't see them until christmas morning when they get up. i have always wanted to find 2 pieces of coal for under the tree and hide all of their presents out in the garage, but I think I'll wait until they are teenagers for that one...
  10. A lurker chimes in....

We had a different challenge last year. DD, her friend and I were at Walmart by 3. We were the only car in the parking lot. Others joined us at 3:30 and there was probably several hundred people there by 4. We stood at the door until 5 when the employees opened the far side door. We were now near the back of the line. These girls are small, so they wormed their way to the front.

Had I not had the brave teens with me, we'd have missed out. They had both the computer and VHS/DVDR by the time I got in the door.

Hmmmm Good plan, maybe I should hire my nephew and a couple of his skinny little friends,

I've actually been taking some self-defense classes to help me out for BF, maybe I'll take my "walking stick" LOL

  11. I only sacrifice sleep and usually warmth, since its generally cold here in the Ohio Valley. My dh did sacrifice a whole week of vacation so we could go shopping on BF! He should have worked a 24 hour shift that day, but wanted to go shopping so he took a whole week of vacation. I think I have the worlds best husband! :gdinlove:
  12. got one for my son last year bf from mc sports and he loves it

How old is he? My son is interested in one, but I think he is too young yet, although he drives like a demon on his bike!
