My daughters would love this for their bedrooms

Nice idea! My daughters have a wall length shelf this would be perfect under. Saving to the wish list.

  2. These little containers were a big hit with my wife last year. They are great for taking dips, or small snacks. I got the small ones last year and am eyeing the bigger size for this year. At under $20 it would be nice for an office coworker too.

This decanter is perfectly labeled for your favorite bourbon or whiskey. This would pair nicely with some fancy nuts and perhaps one of those big ice cube molds in a gift basket. My brother in law will love this.

I always look forward to this thread - the last few years I seem to find something posted that helps me with my shopping lists.

This year I'm sharing "Angry Mamma" a cute little microwave steam cleaner - under $10!  I love small inexpensive novel gifts like this because they are unexpected and hopefully useful.

    Happy Shopping!

  5. Best option for me was Amazon, prime. Had it Delivered to relatives house.

Have also done Walmart - a bit of a zoo on Black Friday but bikes not too bad to score, good selection. Most are grabbing other things.

Did toys r us - terrible experience. Color was not out on the floor. Had to Sacrifice 30-40 mins of valuable shop time to ensure I got the deal. Missed other deals down the line.

  6. Now that Apple and Amazon have rolled out their 2015 streamers, what do people think? I think Amazon killed Apple in this round.

The new Apple TV is going to be a game changer, not for the fact that they improved the interface, the voice control, or added gaming and AppStore. Rather the current and future content deals they are preparing to deliver.

  7. Am I better off to get the bigger memory up front?

For the songs, can you download any MP3 song? Or do they only take iTunes?

Any advice would be helpful. Maybe I should push her to the laptop? Hmmm, I don't know what to do. Thoughts anyone?

I echo what others have said about memory... Get the largest amount of storage you can afford. I like the apple products. For one thing they are very easy to use... We have several iPods, two iPhones and an iPad in our household. If you can swing it go for the iPad. It's the best of both worlds for your daughter. There's tons of educational software, music and more. There are equivelant (perhaps not so robust) editing tools for word processing and presentations. You can load in your own mp3s, cd's, or download from iTunes. Skip the lap top for now.... Go for the tablet.
