The markdown team hit the candles/candle holders/smelly things this morning (lots of stuff, mostly 75% off) then moved over to the books, where nothing much had been marked down before... so? They didn't appear to be heading over to the toys, but they were out "in-force" today so maybe but I'm not holding my breath.

If you live in the Apple Valley, Minnesota area I was talking to two of the workers just before the store closed, at the Apple Valley Target, while they were re-arranging the clearance toys. They said they have another 2 pallets in the back they have to put out tomorrow morning. I'm not going to be around tomorrow - bummer. They weren't exactly sure what they had on the pallets but they said they'll easily fill both sides of the row they cleared.

I was told by one of the clerks at Target that their food coupons can be used up to 6 weeks after the exp date. I've used them far past the exp date... sometimes you'll get someone that will look at the date and say it's expired, but if you ask them to scan it, it will take it off. I've actually never had one not work and I've used them long after the expiration date.

There's a good selection of toys 50% off today - lots of games, but down the isles several other things too. I bought a couple of the Christmas presents I already bought at for 50% off and have to return the other ones I bought at full price - I guess I should have waited. Also found Madden 07 for Wii $7.48. The nice thing was there was no one there... not like the last couple of days... which have been crazy. Merry Christmas everyone!

At one of the Target's near me the games went down to 75% - probably today because they had alot of them. The other 2 stores I stopped at still had their games at 50%. This particular Target never seems to follow the markdown pattern of the other stores (in fact it's ususally a week or more behind, today it's ahead) but it might be a sign that the markdown for the video games is Monday. This store was out of the Ratatouille but... Got: P3 NBA 2K7 - 9.98 X360 Meet the Robinsons 12.48 X-men-3 7.48 Superman Returns 9.98 Gun 9.98 Pimp My Ride 9.98 P2 Sly3 4.98 Spiderman 2 4.98 The had others the Robinson's was 7.48, and a couple titles of teen/mature games either 4.98/7.48 PSP Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 - 4.98 About 1/2 of their PC games that had been 30-50% off were adjusted down 50-75% off.
